Superman Returns Baby!!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

My hubby and I finally got to see Superman Returns this past Saturday. We decided to splurge and we upgraded to see the movie in the IMAX theatre...and boy were we happy that we did! Throughout the movie (for about 20 minutes worth), we put on our special glasses to see Superman in all his 3-D glory! Excuse my french, but it was freakin sweet!!! And I just don't see how anybody could not like this movie!

Brandon Routh did an excellent job portraying Superman. He even had some of the same facial expressions as Christopher Reeve did while playing Clark. I think Routh could have been more bumbling, but he still did a great job trying to fill someone else's shoes. (And btw, there is no way my man Tom Welling, who plays Clark on Smallville, could have played this part. He did audition for the part, but I'm so glad they gave it to a newbie.)

I think they did an incredible job on the story line...I couldn't have been happier! I love Lex Luthor's evil plot and the movie is ready to go for a sequel. I'm already looking forward to the next one, but I might just have to go see Superman Returns another time while it's in the theatre. There is just nothing like seeing the man in tights on the big screen! :-)

Here are a few cool facts that I found out about the movie:
-The last line of the fourth Superman movie (the one before "Returns") is Superman saying to Luthor, "See you in twenty." That scene was filmed in 1986. Eerily enough, twenty years later, in 2006, the next Superman movie was released.

-When Singer became interested in possibly hiring Routh, he arranged for them to meet in a coffee shop. When they met at their table, Routh stumbled and spilled hot coffee all over the table. Although he panicked, thinking he had just lost the part, Singer laughed and said it actually helped him get the part. The incident convinced Singer that Routh could pull off the clumsy, bumbling Clark Kent.

Haven't seen the movie yet but I do vaguely remember Routh on "One Life to Live" for a short time.

I'm still uncertain. I know how much you like the Superman. It is like me and the Ocean's [Insert # Here] Characters.

I just have certain Superman ideas in my head and the storyline worries me some, as far as that goes.

This is one of those movies that I wish I could know all about without having to spend any time or money on.

I guess that I will not get my way on that one!

I just posted my review of it, too, and even added the bit about the coffee shop. I really liked the movie, but I did find quite a few holes with the plot and wasn't as much of a fan of anything that didn't involve Mr. Routh:)
