Busy Weekend

We had one busy weekend! Friday night I did a little Christmas shopping and finished a few people. And I'm hoping to be completely done by the end of this week. I still need to get a few gift cards for my cousins and I need to think of something to get my mom. I thought about getting her one of these, but I'm still not sure. I could also get her a grandma charm for her necklace or even a movie. Any ideas?

On Saturday, my hubby and I did more C-mas shopping and then I watched the red head's that evening so their parents could go to a work holiday party. While we had them, we decided to start getting the C-mas decorations out. I have so much that I can get out, but I really don't want to. Honestly, I didn't even want to get out the tree or it's decorations. It's about a third of the way done, but I have no motivation to finish it. For some reason, I'm just not in the mood to decorate my home this year...what's wrong with me???

After church on Sunday, we headed over to the oldest red head's bday party. We had some great pizza while my son got to hang out with a couple of boy's his age. Then after the party, we got together at my mom's house to make a ton of Cmas treats. We made chocolate crinkles, peanut butter, mint chocolate, and coffee blossoms, peanut butter fudge, no-bakes, chocolate and peanut butter bark, chocolate covered pretzels, 7-layers, and Cmas M&M cookies. It all tastes sooooo delicious! I can't wait to share them with everyone at our holiday gatherings.

Have you finished shopping yet?

OK, that's the second blog I've read today that showed that hot cocoa maker! I think God is telling me something. Not sure that helps with your mom, though...

I'm back from my blog break!

I've barely started! I'm usually done by this point but I have to wait for my husbands bonus this year (due to medical expenses). I'm in a panic!

I felt the same way about decorating this year. So unlike me. I pressend on though and am glad I did and you'll be glad too!

I am finished my shopping and it feels great! The stores are so crazy now it frustrates me.

I like the idea of a grandma charm, but hat appliance thing looks like fun too! Which would she enjoy more?

Not in the mood to decorate for Christmas? Maybe you have a bit of PPD?

I can't wait to try some of those cookies you made. They sound yummy.

I am almost done with my shopping. I had everything that I have now before Thanksgiving and even have most of it wrapped. I have 3 more things to buy. I know what I'm getting and would have had them already if it weren't for having to wait til the 15th for guru's next check!

I am excited because usually I am out doing some last minute shopping and wrapping, but not this year, baby, yea!

I finished shopping this week. I hate that I don't get my first cheque until after Christmas as it means not much money to buy thing for anyone but Little Princess but oh well.

I'm with you, I still don't have my Christmas tree up. I've been sitting here all day trying to get motivated to do it. I don't know why, but I'm having such a hard time decorating my house this year, and I don't have PPD! I just think that we are still trying to adjust to our newest addition to our family!

Oh yeah, and I've barely begun to start C-Mas shopping! We are going out tomorrow after church while Suzy watches the kids.

I sure would love to try all the Christmas goodies you made!

I had to finish over the weekend, since I had to mail everything. I didn't mean to do it even this last minute, but I honestly "lost" a week in December.

Baby Pictures

Since I got a free portrait package from the hospital, we took the baby to get his pictures taken last night. This time went much better compared to our family pictures that we had taken last Saturday. The photographer, a lovely lady my age, but missing her front four teeth, was only running 10 minutes behind. Because the baby was well rested, she got some great pics of my wide-eyed 6 week old. The baby really did well and I'm very happy with the photos! I ended up getting more than the free package since I never sent out an announcement card. So family and friends will be getting a Christmas/announcement card instead!

Oh, while we were there, one of the next customers got upset with our photographer. Apparently the costumer was upset with her since she was running a little behind (not an hour and an half like this other studio was-but just 15 minutes behind). I mean, the lady was only working by herself, doing quality work, during the Christmas rush! You know you have to wait a little longer in traffic and in store lines during the holidays, so why would you think that it would be any different with photo studios? In fact, there has never been a time where I've gone to get pictures taken and the photographer was waiting on me...they are always busy! But here was this customers yelling and complaining-she was so rude I almost gave her a piece of my mind...and she wasn't even talking to me!

So much for peace on earth, good will toward men...and photographers! :-)

Sounds like that next customer needed to chill out. You are going to post some of these pictures, right??

My "baby" is going to be 2 on Sunday. Where does the time go?

It's sad to me that at this time of "good will toward men" people are so disrespectful for those in service positions. I go out of my way to be extra pleasant to make up for the jerks.

I agree that getting an Xmas portrait and having to wait past your appointment time seems to go with the territory.

Yeah, I probably would have said something. I waited an HOUR last time I went to a studio for pics. Whole thing was a disaster and it was NOT Christmas portrait time yet! People make me crazy during the holidays, they turn the time of year we should be thinking of others into a self-absorbed, miserable experience! Don't I sound like the grinch?

I remember trying to get Christmas pictures when my kids were little. There was always some person who was rude. I really feel for the photographer. Just try to get those tired, irritable kids to smile!

That was just so adorable. I really am very sorry for not having been dropping by for quite some time. I really have been very busy too with the new grandson that I even had to temporarily bid farewell to blogging. I do blog once in a while now. Congratulations for the new baby. When I'm up and about I'll be visiting you regularly again.

That's so annoying when people get all bent out of shape about stupid things during the holidays. I hope that guy grows out of that phase!
