Serenity

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

A few months ago I saw a trailer for the movie Serenity. My dad was with me at the time and he kept saying Firefly. I had never heard of Firefly, but yet they were making a movie out of it called...you guessed it, Serenity. The movie looked really good, especially since it was created by Joss Whedon (who also created Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel).

Fast forward to Monday night...my dad ended up buying the Firefly series (great synopsis found here) on DVD and let me borrow it to watch it this week. With only 14 episodes (it was canceled mid season), I finished watching the entire show by Thursday afternoon...it was that good!!! Firefly is a really unique scifi show in that it mixed western and Chinese themes. So, it was really neat to see (some of) the characters dressed in old west garb, carrying around pistols, and cursing in Chinese.

The show also doesn't have any aliens. It is all man vs. man conflict...and I was loving it! It was refreshing to see a space/scifi show that looks like how it could really be in 500 years...if Earth's resources are used up of course!

Like I said, I finished watching the series on Thursday (and loved it...have I mentioned that yet?!) , so I got online to check for Serenity show times. I found out that it was playing at 3 Columbus movie theaters that night! I ended up calling my sis to see if she wanted to be out with me till 2 am seeing the movie. She agreed before I even got the question out!

We both thought the movie was wonderful since it helped tie up most of the loss ends from the series. It also had fabulous visual effects! And it was neat how they completely constructed the ship so that the characters could walk the entire ship without breaking scene.

I did have one problem with something that happened near the end. It really upset me and I think it was not necessary. I'd say more, but I don't want to give anything away. I just wish I knew why such a thing was allowed!

I would def recommend this movie to just about anyone. You'll love the characters and how they can be funny/sarcastic right in the middle of a fight. Even if you're not a scifi lover (or have seen the Firefly series), I think you would still enjoy the movie. And if you do end up seeing the movie, you should def pee before hand since you won't want to miss a minute!

Perhaps I will. But, I don't know that I'd get to watch all of it before it would need to get back to your dad. Maybe I'll wait until it hit the library and get it and take my time.

You should def go see it BSTS!

The man vs man conflict is why I think my hubby would actually enjoy this movie Becky. He is not a scifi fan, but I think he might just be entertained with Serenity!

Tagged!

Twisted Cinderella tagged me! I've done part of this meme before, but it's been a while...so enjoy!!!

Ten Years Ago: September 1995, 15 years old
That summer I had taken a missions trip to Spain, so I was still on a God high. And that month I started up in a new private school (much closer to home) and met Princess Jemmers! It was a pretty good time in my life. My parents and I had a good relationship and I did no wrong in their eyes (yes, I was...key word was...a goodie goodie).

Five Years Ago: September 2000
My hubby and I had been married to for a little over two years at this point. We had no credit card debt and we just celebrated the one year anniversary of having a mortgage. And we had just started trying for our first little one!

One Year Ago: September 2004
This time last year was not a happy time for my marriage. My hubby and I were having a few problems and we even went into counseling. My son was confused and was acting up quite a bit. It was just not good times for my family (btw, it has since changed of course).

Yesterday: Tuesday
It was like any typical Tuesday...I was up at 6:45, had three boys dropped off by 7:45, did laundry, made bed, washed dishes, had a hard time feeding the 4 month old, feed the older boys, put them down for naps, feed them again, sent three of them off to their mothers, made dinner, debated (not argued...heehee)with hubby, watched tv, put son to bed, blogged, surfed, went to bed around 1...rinse, lather, repeat (three days of the week).

Five Songs I Know All The Words To:
Cruisin Together by Huey Lewis and Gwyneth Paltrow

Distribute 10% of it to several churches
Build a new house for me, my parents, and my fil
Pay off my debt along with my immediate families debt
Take a long cruise with any family that wants to come with
Help Jemmers start up her infertility support group

Five places I'd run away to:
My empty home
PE Island
Arizona
Venice
Kiawah Island

Five things I would never wear (again):
Pink
Turtle necks
Clogs
Hair scrunchies
Vests

Five Favorite TV Shows (that are on right now)

Upset!

I can't believe that three of my fav shows are all on at the same time! I hate this! I feel like I'm cheating on one show if I spend time with the other...crazy, I know! So, I ended up watching Boston Legal tonight. Ahhh, I love this show...and the only reason I started watching it last year was because of the outstanding William Shatner!!! He is wonderful playing Danny Crane. His character is so outrageous that you can't help but love him.

On a side note, my car is finally fixed! There was a problem with the brake lights not going off. It ended up killing my car battery so my hubby and I dropped it off to the mechanic yesterday. We def wanted to get the car in soon since it has 300 miles left till the warranty expires. Well they fixed it in about 2 hours and now I have my car (and my freedom) back! It feels so wonderful knowing that my car is now in great working condition again!

Life is grand with Bill Shatner acting...and not singing!

Bill Shatner sang a song at the Emmy's! You can read about it here!

In an "American Idol"-style competition, stars and singers ranging from William Shatner to Donald Trump to Frederica von Stade will perform themes from TV series, with viewers able to pick their favorite song via online or text-message voting..."Emmy Idol":
William Shatner ("Boston Legal") and opera's von Stade with the theme from Shatner's 1960s series "Star Trek."

I wasn't able to catch the show, but I heard it was a riot!!!

Tag, I'm It!

I've been tagged by the cute and little Princess Jemmers!!!

The instructions:
1. Go into your archive.
2. Find your 23rd post.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions.
5. Tag five people to do the same.

My 23rd post was about one of my past Thursdays. I used to work with the autistic boy both in the morning (from 6:45-8:15) and in the evening (from 6:30-10:30). Also, on Thursdays, I only had to watch the red head so I actually had time to grocery shop during the day...imagine that!!! So here is my 5th sentence: Because I only have one baby today, it seems like the perfect day to get over there (Aldi).

Boring, I know!!! But, that's all I got. :-)

5 people tagged:
1. Whoever
2. would
3. love
4. to
5. steal!!!

Good Day!

Yesterday the family and I had a wonderful day together. We ended up taking a 25 min drive to Magic Mountain since I had coupons. For lunch we had MM's pizza buffet (and I was free with a coupon). It was soooo good!!! It had 8-10 different pizzas and 3 dessert pizzas...apple, Snickers, and Oreo! Yummy!!! The buffet also included free drink refills and a large salad section that had fruit and pudding among quite a few others items.

After lunch the three of us played some putt-putt. We got two rounds each for less than $8 (with a coupon and the special)! It was a lot of fun teaching my son how to play since it was his very first time! My hubby and I helped him quite a bit...so much so that my son won both games! It was a great time!

Later that night we watched the season premiere of Desperate Housewives. It was fabulous!!! But I've got to tell ya...I would do that same thing that Bree did during her husband's funeral (you can read all about it here). If someone did that to my hubby an hour before the service, I would freak out as well and try to fix it. But I'm a control freak like that...heehee!!!

Life is grand with the family!

Busy

My hubby and I are having one busy day! The Buckeyes are currently playing, so there are a few fans here at the house. We had hamburgers, hotdogs, mac n cheese, taco dip and chips, deviled eggs, fries, and no-bakes.

After the game, the three of us will head over to my parents house to pick up my siblings. Then we will quickly get over the the Der Dutchman Restaurant to celebrate my grandpa's birthday. After eating with him and the rest of that side of the family, my hubby and I will be dropping off my sis and bro and then heading over to a party tonight. It's hosted by one of my hubby's bosses. I guess she has one of these every year and it will be a chance for my hubby to really get to know his co-workers (and their families). I have no clue when we will get home, but I hope to get back online and post something else for today. We'll see...heehee!!!

3. Sour cream and seasonings mixed together with veggies on top to look like a pizza...served with tortilla chips

Smallville Time!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

This stinks!!! One of my fav shows, Smallville, premieres tonight...but it isn't on till 11 (for us here in Columbus, Ohio) !!! Last season the show was on at 10 on Wednesday nights. This season it will be on at 11 on Thursdays!!! I can't believe it! Why would you start a show at 11 since it did so well for the WB last year???

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

And, tonight's episode is 90 min long!!! We will be up till 12:30am just to see one of my all time fav shows! Ahhhh, but it should be worth it!

Anyone else a Smallville fan (and love John Schneider as much as I do)?

-------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE!!!

The Great and Powerful Oz had the wrong date! He is supposed to be the world's greatest Smallville fan, but he was a week early on the premiere date! I can't believe it! Tonight is the repeat of Smallville's season finale...so maybe the new season will actually be on at 10! Oh, I hope so!

Blogger Pete said...

It did well for WB as a whole, but isn't a screamer in the Columbus market, hence the bad time slot. 11pm sucks, though for a first run show. That is just mad crazy disrespect.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

You could even put the descriptions in the alt="blah blah" text part of the hyperlink so they show up when hovered over if you wanted to.

Or you could type them all out after each link like amanda sue as well. The page may be three feet long with all of your fabulous links though.

I'm sure you'll come up with just the right way to display them if you choose to do so.

You GO girl!

P.S. I prefer boxer-briefs, the underwear hybrid. Supportive, yet not restrictive.

Getting Ready!

Since Halloween is just around the corner, my son and I went out costume looking tonight. I usually have my costume picks for the family decided upon months in advance, but I don't think my choices are going to work this year.

For years I have wanted to do a Willy Wonka (1971) theme with my son as an Oompa Loompa, my bro as Wonka, my hubby as Grandpa Joe, and me as Violet Beauregard. But, I don't think it's going to work since I would have to put sooo much work into it. I would probably have to make my blueberry suit and then get together all the necessary pieces to make each of our outfits work. It's just not going to be possible. Oh well.

So, I think we are going with Star Wars this year. There quite a few costumes since Episode III just came out a few months ago. And my son is the perfect height for Yoda!!! Or he could be Anakin...I'm not sure yet. My hubby is talking about being Vader, Chewbacca, the Emperor, or just some Jedi knight...again, we're not sure! There are a lot of options for all of us, but it's all about how much we want to spend. I've found a Yoda outfit for $25, but that seems a little steep for just an evenings use. So now I am looking through eBay. I hope I find something soon since Halloween is only 42 days away!!! I'm soooo running out of time!

(Btw, can you tell this is my fav holiday?! Heehee!)

Sounds like fun. I like the idea of everyone having a common theme in the costumes.

My daughter chooses what she wants to be way in advance. This year it is Harriet Potter. I have knitted her a Griffendor scarf and aquired glasses and a wand. I just need a robe. I think I'm gonna have to sew it.

WE were gonna have my son be a dragon but the costume didn't fit. He is temporarily a monkey(on clearance at Sams), unless we find something better.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Emily wanted to be Ariel so I got her the Ariel costume, then she wanted to be Pocahantas. I told her too bad. She'd have to stick with Ariel. She wants red hair but I'm not going to buy a wig. I think I'll dye her hair with red koolaid. Anyone know how to do that?

It would prob be better to use red spray in for her hair. If you use koolaid, it will leave red spots on your daughters outfit...trust me, I know! Heehee!

Painting The Town...Cream & Blue

Well I would have posted my OSU pics last night, but I was needed at my mom's house. She offered to feed my family pizza if we came over and helped her paint. You see, she is re-doing the finished part of her basement. It is very outdated (looking like a room from the 70's) with orange carpet and wood paneling on the walls.

So, last night we went over and moved the furniture into the middle of the room so that we could prime all the walls (and nasty wood paneling) and the doors. Then we painted the wood a light cream and the walls were painted a pretty blue. We also adding a few splashes of a tan accent color in parts of the room...like the built in bookcase and fireplace.

We finished all we could last night with the paint available. My mom needs to buy more cream before the room can be finished. And, I think the colors like beautiful together. And she is doing those colors to tie in with the lighthouse theme that will soon be in the basement. It should look wonderful by the end of this week!

Btw, our OSU pics should be up by the end of the day! (And I only have to go through 73 pics to find the best ones!) Ahhh, life is grand!!!

Game Time!

Today my hubby and I got to enjoy his birthday present...two tickets to today's OSU game!!!

I found the tickets on eBay after a few weeks of searching...and I wasn't even sure if I could buy two great seats for about $100. If I couldn't, I was planning on just finding something else to get my hubby for his birthday. Well, one day last week I put a bid in on two tickets. I wasn't expecting to win since my bid was pretty low. But, I got online a few hours later and much to my surprise, I won the auction! I couldn't believe it!

I got the tickets in the mail on Tuesday (a day before my hubby's b-day!) and I hid them in a pair of gloves that I wrapped up for my hubby. He eventually found them and then went into shock! He couldn't believe that I (and my parents...they paid for his ticket, I paid for mine) got him OSU tickets.

Well, we dropped off the boy today and headed over to the Shoe. We got there at a good time (and found free parking!!!),and then I went in search of Smitty from my fav radio station. He was giving away prizes, but was out by the time I found him. But, I did get a little interview with him on the radio! It was neato...heehee!

My hubby and I got in, got a $6 drink and $3 Twizzlers (without standing in a line!), and found our seats. We then sat through an awesome game of the Buckeyes spanking the Aztecs. My man AJ Hawk was awesome as well! He is SO the man!!! And he is so exciting to watch. He will def go far!

After the game, my hubby and walked over to Don Pablo's for some yummy dinner! There was no wait and it helped waste some time to allow for the traffic to clear up. It was the perfect ending to a great day!

Btw, here is where we sat (and I have more pics to come later!):

My Hubby's Day

My hubby had a wonderful birthday yesterday...or so he tells me! I sent him off to work with some warm monkey bread (hmmmm!!!) that I made that morning...and his co-workers got a chocolate cake to share for his birthday as well.

He seemed to like his gifts (you can read about it here). And we had a wonderful evening together.

I would love to say more, but I'm in a really crappy mood right now. I few things happened today that I'm not exactly thrilled about.

Sibling Talk

I was talking to my son today about him eventually being a big brother (for the record, no, we are not expecting...yet). I asked him if he wanted a little brother or sister. At first he said he wanted a baby sister, but then changed him mind. He told me that he wanted a baby T-rex!

Kids, gotta love them!

Rescue Me

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Did anybody get to see the season finale of Rescue Me tonight? Good grief, it was good! It had me in tears...again! Watching this show just makes me so emotional! I'm either rolling around laughing or crying my eyes out. It just too bad that season three won't start till 2006!!! I don't think I can wait that long!

I can't believe that I'm so addicted to this show. I actually avoided watching it since Denis Leary is the main character. I really don't like anything he has been in, but I decided one week (since there was nothing else on) to try the show anyway...and of course I ended up loving it.

Again, I hate the fact that it won't be back till 2006, but hopefully they will show repeats from the first season (since I haven't seen those yet).

Life is grand with a good cry.

Tired

In honor of my blogging anniversary, here is another post for ya...I used to post twice a day believe it or not.

I'm soooo tired today. After watching the four boys, I made a quick dinner for the family. We had some yummy chicken cordon blue, green beans, and macaroni. Then my hubby was off to band practice while my son and I headed over to my mom's hair salon to clean. To make some extra money, I am now her shop cleaner/organizer.

When we got there, I popped a DVD in for my son to watch and then I got to work. I cleaned up the bathroom, store room, kitchen, waiting area, nail table, toy room and hair room. After that, I organized all the magazines, kid books, novels (my mom kind of has a mini library at the shop), and the toys. It was a lot work, but I finished in a little over two hours. The place looks great...at least I think so. It was def worth the time and effort to make some extra money every two weeks.

Btw, life is grand with your one year blogging anniversary!!!

Chewy Cheerios

Better Safe Than Sorry and Amanda Sue have asked about chewy Cheerios, so I thought I would post a little something about them. They are sticky and very chewy (hence the name!) and are a little similar to rice krispies. They are always a big hit at parties and the kids love them. So, here is the recipe:

Mix and boil the following four ingredients:
1 stick butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 t. salt
1/2 cup light corn syrup or pancake syrup

After a 2 min boil, add 1/2 t. baking soda

Then pour the mixture over 6 cups of regular Cheerios that are on a foil covered, non-stick sprayed cookie sheet (it makes for easy cleanup).

Bake for 15 min at 250 degrees. After taking it out of oven, mix up the Cheerios (will clump together) so that all the pieces are coated evenly.

Btw, you can mix other things with the Cheerios as well...like nuts or raisins. Enjoy!!!

Good Game

Even though my Buckeyes lost, it was a great game. The teams were perfectly matched, so it was a lot of fun to watch. I think the Bucks could have pulled out a win in the end if they didn't turn over the ball twice in the last 5 minutes.

My hubby and I probably hosted our largest OSU game ever last night. There really wasn't a lot of people over at our house, but since our family room isn't very big, it seemed like our house was overflowing. There were 11 people watching the game: My son, hubby, fil, mom, bro, sis, Jemmers and her hubby, Oz and his wife, and myself. I served two types of Mexican dip, soft and hard tacos, chips and salsa, and then Jemmers brought over chocolate chips cookies for dessert. We ate it with some ice cream and the chewy Cheerios(which are soooo good!) that I made.

I think we all had a great time eating and enjoying each others company. It's just too bad that OSU lost...it would have been the perfect ending to a great party!

Life is grand with parties!

Technically, both. It is a series of images, but when I said picture, I was referring to the one image file that contains them.

At first glance, I was sad because I thought you had abandoned the matrix-y side of your name, but then I saw the two Trinity images and all was well.

A Break

I had a nice break from blogging yesterday. It was great to have a day where I didn't stress about trying to create a post. Don't get me wrong, I love blogging. It is just getting old to me (right now). I love reading and commenting on other's sites, but recently I've been having a hard time getting motivated to make my own blog updates.

So, I might be taking a break soon. We'll see how it goes. Who knows, maybe tomorrow I will wake up inspired to write...especially since I'm so near my blogging anniversary.

Ahhhh, life is indeed grand.

Not The Best Day

This morning did not go well for me. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to share what happened. I just want to forget about it. It ruined my whole day!

And then I had a dentist appointment this afternoon. I think the dental assistant needs to go back to school to learn the difference between the gums and teeth. I don't think my mouth has ever bled that much! And because the dental lady was so rough, my mouth is still sore!

It was just not the best of days. I wish I could go back to sleep and just start over. But I guess life is grand that way!

Btw, I found this great HP quiz on Shannon's blog! Only 70 days will Harry Potter 4 comes out!!!

I'm a Hufflepuff!

where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are
true and unafraid to toil."

Want to get sorted?

Four Day Weekend!

Ahh, this is going to be soooo great! I don't have any kids (besides my own of course!) till next Monday! I normally don't have the one year on Thursdays or Fridays since his grandma has him those days...and I don't have the red heads since their grandma (from New York) is in town!

I love this! I feel soooo free! My son and I can do whatever we want. I can leave the house during the day since I won't have to load up four car seats! We are going to have such a great time together...just him and me!

Life is grand with my son!!!

Hmmm...

I'm not sure what to do about a situation and I need some input...please?!

As most of you know, I watch four boys during the day. Well the one year old's mom loves to overpay me. She gives me $5 more a day then I get for the youngest red head (who is 4 months old). And I have the one year old for two hours less a day. I've told her in the past that she overpays me, but she insists that I take the money. But, that's not my current problem.

After the oldest red head reached a certain age, I start supplying his lunch. It's really no problem since I have to make lunch for me and my boy anyway (plus it only costs about $0.50 to feed him and it makes it easier for his mom...she doesn't have to pack so much). So, oldest red head has joined in on these lunches for over a year and now the one year is old enough to join us. His mom told me that she wanted to pay for me feeding him. I told her that I would not want to be paid extra for a service that I provide free of charge to the red head. I thought she understood this, but then she paid me an extra $15 (for 6 days)!

Okay first off, it doesn't cost $2.50 a day to feed him. Second, I told her not to pay me. I don't know whether to just accept the money or to call her on it. I want to just tell her to subtract the $15 from my next pay, but I don't want to offend her.

I'm just not sure what to do? Would you just take the money and not say anything? Or would you say something to the mom (I've tried this before with her over paying me $5 a day and it didn't work).

What to do...what to do.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

i think you should accept, you've already mentioned it to her. you can always spend the extra money on crafts or something to do with the kids that you may not normally have spent the money on. and i don't know what you're feeding these kids, cuz i don't know of any meal that you can serve for 50 cents, one apple alone here costs almost a dollar, as the kids get older, it is going to cost you more to feed them. i'm sure she's very thankful that you're doing it for her and saving her time by not having to make lunches and snacks and this is her way of saying thanks.

September 07, 2005 6:36 AM

Blogger Unknown said...

Since you have mentioned the extra money is not needed and she still insists on giving it to you. Go ahead and take it. It is probably her way of rewarding you on a job well done.

Take the money and put it back into your daycare. And take some money for yourself, because you ARE doing a good job!

September 07, 2005 10:03 AM

Blogger Veruca Salt said...

if she *really* wants to give you more and you *really* don't want to take it, you could always ask her to bring food instead, like a loaf of bread a week, or fruit, or soup, snacks or whatever kind of stuff you feed them for lunches - that way she's can really feel like she's contributing

but being a working (out of the house, that is) mom who had a young child in a home daycare for his first 4 years, I can tell you that you there's no price too high for knowing that your child is taken care of well during the day and I ALWAYS used to bring snacks, or craft stuff to my daycare lady.

Thanks for all your input everyone!

BSTS, because my son and I would be sharing our lunch, it doesn't cost that much. We have everything from grilled cheese (costs me $0.25 for the one year old's share)to pizza to mac n cheese and hotdogs to those frozen dinners (the ones with a meat like chicken fingers, corn, fries, and brownie...I get them for $0.79 on sale). And I only buy things that are on sale (unless I am shopping at Aldi). It def doesn't amount to the $2.50 a day she is giving me. But I appreciate her thoughtfulness.

P21, she is a wonderful lady! It's been great working for her.

DW, I have thought about it being my reward...or my tip. But it seems to much. I want to provide a service that won't cost them an arm and a leg since I consider my moms friends. I care for their children as my own and I don't feel right even charging as much as I do. But, thank you for the compliment! It's much appreciated.

Cate, I forgot to mention that she does still bring some food. Every week she brings a big box of goldfish and a box of fruit snacks "for the kids to share". I know she has the best intentions, but it's just hard for me to accept her abundant generosity. She is just too giving!

take it from a mom of 3 and daycare provider who takes 4kids on, one of them for 13hours a day, who gets paid squat, take the money do something special with it. Do you write receipts for them? it keeps everything in order!

September 07, 2005 1:51 PM

Blogger Oh great One said...

I think you could tell her once more that she is giving you too much money. If she continues to pay more than I would let her.

You do a great service to these mothers. Good childcare is a blessing to find so she may just be showing her gratitude. I wouldn't take that from her.

September 07, 2005 2:55 PM

Blogger Trinity13 said...

Shannon, I don't write up receipts for them, but I do keep track of the money paid to me in a calendar. They are welcome to look at it anytime, and neither of the moms have requested anything on paper. (Btw, it sounds like you have your hands full!)

NJ, I'm def trying to look at it like a tip...it's hard though.

Good idea OGO. I plan on telling her next week (when I get paid again) that she is once again overpaying me. After that, if she overpays, I'm not saying another word.

Thanks again everyone for your advice/input. You have all really helped me out!

I Love Days Off

Wow, it's been a pretty good 3 day weekend. I didn't think I would get any computer time today, but since my hubby decided to go see a movie with my dad, I'm here alone with nothing to do. The boy is in bed and I'm just to wired to go to bed myself. So, here I am.

We had a great day today. It was my turn to sleep in, and boy did I take advantage of it! I stayed in bed till 11!!! It was wonderful! I love sleeping in...even though it is a waste of time. But hey, it's one of my fav hobbies!

My sis came over and we decided to catch a movie. We went and saw The Brothers Grimm (Will and Jake Grimm are traveling con-artists who encounter a genuine fairy-tale curse which requires genuine courage instead of their usual bogus exorcisms). It was pretty good flick. I loved how all of the different fairy tales were weaved together to make a great story. I don't think I will buy the movie or even see it again for that matter, but it was a good way to waste a few hours. Plus, it has one of my fav chickys, Monica Bellucci, in it. She is so beautiful! Here's a pic of her and Jake (played by Heath Ledger).

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Then this evening the hubby, boy, and I joined my parents and siblings at my great aunt and uncle's house. We all got together for dinner and dessert to celebrate my great grandpa's 97th birthday. I can't believe how good he looks for his age. He still drives around a little bit, but he has lost some weight. He just gets to tired to prepare and eat his meals. And he is too stubborn to accept any help or to move into a home. But, ya gotta love him!

I hope your day went well!

Btw, life is grand when you're 97 years young!

Crazy Boy

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Yesterday my son and I were watching the Ohio State Marching Band (The Best Damn Band In the Land!) on tv. He loved seeing all the members in their uniforms. Then he started pointing out everyone on tv. It went a little like this...man...man...woman...man...CHEERLEADER!!! Man...woman...woman...man...man...man...CHEERLEADER!!!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It was too cute! And not only did he yell cheerleader, but he jumped up and down on the couch when he saw them! Like father like son!

Ummm...

Okay, I've been sitting here for about an hour and I still have not post ideas. So, here is me just writing whatever comes to mind....okay, nothing...(10 min later) still nothing...I'll be back...

I am so not inspired tonight and I haven't been in a few days. I need ideas...and I need them now! I don't feel like I have anything interesting to write about. My life is going pretty good right now. I still watch four boys (including my own) during the week. They are all doing well. The youngest has been a little frustrating (like spitting up all over himself, me, the couch, and the floor...and when he poops, it's usually up his back all the way up to his neck), but he's too cute! I love just watching him coo and smile.

The hubby and I are doing well. We are def keeping busy with me watching little ones and taking care of the house and him playing in a band and taking care of me and our son.

We are still trying for another little one, but recently I have not been so stressed about it. I know it will happen in God's time, not my own. But I am now at peace with waiting. I understand that it could be years till we are blessed with another one, and I'm okay with that. Right now I am just going to enjoy the one on one time I have with my son. He means the world to me!

So, really nothing new I guess...nothing above really even mentioning, but I've got nothing else. Sorry, but life is grand that way!!!

We are having Oz (and maybe his family) over as well as my fil to watch the game on our big screen. I will be serving burgers, dogs, and watermelon, as well as some no-bakes or even a few buckeyes. It should be a great time!

Btw, if you're not a football fan, here's a quiz for ya! Enjoy!!!

Ahhhh...

Where does the time go? Here I am surfing and it is already 11:30! Well, there goes my plan for being in bed by 10! It lasted...not even a day! Ahhh, I'm so bad!

Tomorrow they finally seal our street. They told us it would be today, so my hubby had to park his truck two blocks from our house...he then had to walk to it this morning. And then they didn't even work on the road! I couldn't believe it! So, it will def be tomorrow...or so I hope! I plan on meeting the red head's mom somewhere near where my hubby will be parked. That way I can just go ahead and take the kids from her there. There is no point in having her walk the two blocks to my house just to walk back to her car when I have to walk it anyway (I have to go to the autistic boy's house in the morning and I won't get back till after street is closed).

Ahhh, life is grand with exercise!
