My T13

Thirteen Things about Trinity13

1. Last thirteen of the year!

2. Guess what, I'm typing this up on the couch!!! I still can't get over it!

3. My sis is finally dating her crush of 6 years...the guy has finally wised up.

4. My grandpa has fallen a few more times. This is the same man who fell and had to get a pin in his hip. Apparently the nursing home didn't have him tied down and he fell out of bed, split open his head, and broke his wrist. He was taken back to the hospital, but now he is at another home. This place actually deals with more alzheimer's patients...but he ended up falling there a few times as well. His poor head and body are all bruised. I feel so bad, but there is nothing I can do.

5. My thumb is looking better. I'm actually able to type again with it, but it still hurts just a little.

6. I'm so ready to take the Christmas tree down!

7. My hubby is off all week, and he and the boy are having a day together. They are supposed to be setting up a back account for all of the boy's Cmas and piggy back money.

8. Did I mention that I love surfing and blogging while on the couch!!! It's so much more comfortable than sitting in the cold basement!

9. I've had the red heads for almost 34 hours now! They're mommy should be here by 5:30 to pick them up...then I'll be free!!!

10. I really don't mind watching them, it would just be nice to have some me time.

11. I need to do the dishes. They are piling up, but I just can't seem to get my butt off my laptop for some reason.

12. It doesn't seem like the new year is a few days away. Where has the time gone?

13. I'm off to look for a time machine on ebay.

How Cool Is This?!

Okay, I'm sittin here on my couch blogging on my new laptop! I feel so free! I am no longer tied down to the computer in the basement. I can surf on the couch, in bed, or even in the bathroom! I'm lovin it!!!

Tonight I have the red heads here. I was supposed to babysit them (so their parents could go to a hockey game) till 9, but that didn't make sense to me. Their parents would pick them up asleep, then wake them up in the morning to bring to me. So I just offered to keep them overnight free of charge. They love playing with my son, so we had a great night together.

Life is grand (man, I haven't used that phrase in a while)!!!

(Btw, thanks need to go out to my computer guru for changing my comments! So...thanks!!!!)

That was a lot of celebration hopping. I had a splendid time too with my family on Christmas Eve and the in-laws of my daughter on Christmas day. I did not mind all the preparations becuase I love making everyone happy. What I really enjoyed was watching my grand nephew who is 1 year and 5 months old in his santa costume. He would clap his hands and shout with joy everytime someone would open a gift. But I also felt sad that night because my daddy was not with us although I know in spirit he was.

It is a little bit of a complicated mixture of Javascript and the Blogger-specific server side tags.

But, I would gladly do it for anyone who wanted me to.

Right now, Trinity has custom comment expressions for all values 0-7 comments and then the 8th comment and above gets the standard comment.

If you want it done for you, you just need to get me a copy of your template and the text of what you want it to say for each number of comments.

My email is guru7777 and that is at the most excellent gmail.

If you send me an email with the template attached and your custom comments, I will get it back to you as soon as possible.

A Great Holiday!

(Warning: This post is a little long since I haven't been online in a few days...read at your own risk! Heehee!!!)

Over all, we had a wonderful Christmas (and we still have one more tonight)! My hubby, boy, and I went to a Christmas Eve service on Saturday, and then we headed over to my parent's house. We had a yummy meal of cinnamon and orange rolls (a tradition)! Hmmmm, so good!!! Then we had our gift giving time. My son got drums, a piano, and a ton of cloths (he really needed them). My hubby got a computer and I got a new diamond ring! The new ring (with real diamonds) takes the place of the cheapo ring (with cz's) I got while on a cruise last year. I just love the new one...so thoughtful of my mom!!!

The next day my hubby, son, and I had our little C-mas together. I got my laptop (and when I say mine, I mean ours...just like my car- it's "my" car, but both my hubby and I pay for it...just like "his" truck...get it?)! I also got Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and a new brown coat that I had my eyes on (a total surprise unlike the first two)! My son's big present was a Leapster L-Max...and he just loves it!!! He has been playing it non-stop for the past two days! I got my hubby a cell phone case, a few new shirts, some large playing cards, something for his room in the basement, a wall clock, and a few other little things.

After our C-mas, I made food for the next gathering at my fil's house. Once there, we made up a delicious feast, ate, and then opened up all the gifts! My fav gift that I got there would have to be the laptop case that Lo and Guru got me (thanks!!!). I just love the colors! My son once again got some much needed clothes and some really cool toys! My hubby got money and the first season of Quantum Leap on DVD. (And I was able to give my fil the blanket I had been working on. His wife started it, but was not able to finish it since she is now up with our Lord. I went ahead and finished her work and gave it to him that day...it was very touching to see him open it. I def shed a few tears!)

Then my hubby got a ride home with Guru and Lo (since he was on call and could not leave our side of town), as the boy and I went to yet another C-mas celebration. This one was at my grandma's, but I ended up being an hour late since I lost my way in the fog. I seriously could not see anything...it was so thick! Anyway, I finally got there and had more food and presents. I got cash (always a good thing!) and my hubby also got cash (I was made to open his gift since he wasn't there) and used boxers!!! As it turns out, my grandpa was getting rid of some of his personals and my grandma decided to wash them up and give them out to all the men!!! Can you believe it?! Okay, first off, they were waaaay too small for my hubby. Second off, they. were. used. boxers. Gross!!!

We had a Christmas here at our house last night, so I was busy cleaning for a few hours yesterday. In fact, I was so rushed while loading up the dishwasher that I sliced my finger open with a knife. What a gusher (gross, I know!)!!! I got blood all over the place and my sis tells me that I was white as a ghost. My bro told me that I needed to get stitches, but I didn't have time. There was just too much to do to stop and take care of my thumb. (But it's looking better today.) Besides the sore thumb, the party was a success!

We have one more C-mas get together tonight (again at my house) and then we are finally done!!! I'll be putting away the tree as soon as I can, and finally getting out my everyday decorations. I'm hoping that this will free up some more storage area in the basement. I can always use the extra space for the C-mas gifts (for next year) that I'll be getting sometime this week!

So, what was your fav gift or memory this year?

Yikes! At least you were bleeding on the dirty dishes! ;) When I didn't have health insurance, there were a few times I sliced myself up pretty good, and didn't want to pay to get it fixed (I know you're not going in because you don't have time, I think I'm just telling too much backstory.) Anyway, I used those butterfly strips and they were always just fine.

It sounds like (other than that) you've been having a lot of fun!

I've had a lot of fun this year with Christmas, and I've been working on some projects of my own since DH is home this week. I'll post pictures tomorrow...

let's see...Christmas was so different for us. We are so far away from any family so we had no family get togethers whatsoever. Really missed it. We hosted an open house for our church the week before Christmas, and then put off a Christmas eve service and then a Christmas morning brunch/worship service.

Since then we've been alone and relaxing. It has been good for us. We haven't been so preoccupied with work and the computer or housework. we've played lots of games, went for family walks and read. It has been good. A peaceful, Christmas.

Bonus...I got a new pair of boots that I really wanted but would never put the money out on myself. yay! They are fur and funky and I can't wait to get some snow so I can wear 'em!

Happy new year!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!!! I hope you all have a wonderful day with your family! We spent last night with my parents (I'll go into all the present details later), and today we are having C-mas with my hubby's side! Then we are off to my grandparents house for yet another C-mas gathering. So, I hope to back online sometime late tonight, or it might just have to wait till Monday morning. But, since we have another C-mas that night (that I am hosting), I might just be too busy cleaning and setting things up to blog. I could be back online Tuesday, but I have the red-heads that day and one last C-mas get together that night (at my house again)!

Blogging might just have to wait till next year when I'm finally able to catch my breath! Heehee!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

Quiz Time!!!

I'm tired tonight, so here's a quiz for ya!

Your Brain's Pattern

Structured and organized, you have a knack for thinking clearly.
You are very logical - and you don't let your thoughts get polluted with emotions.
And while your thoughts are pretty serious, they're anything from boring.
It's minds like yours that have built the great cities of the world!

Btw, I hope to post something of worth tomorrow, but I'm supposed to be baking cookies all day! Five ladies are coming over to my house and we are making peanut butter blossoms, chocolate crinkles, fudge, chocolate covered pretzels, C-mas M&M's cookies, ding-bats, buckeyes, no-bakes, 7 layer bars, and thin mint cookies!!! Hmmmm, I'm hungry already...heehee! Later all!

My Boy

For the past few weeks we've had the laptop and the computer side by side here on our large computer desk. It has def helped solve the computer sharing problem that my hubby and I had not to long ago. We are able to surf and post side by side!

Well, since this weekend, my three year old son loves to get on the laptop when we are on the computer. It is too cute!!! I'll be sitting here and he will climb up in the chair next to me and just start clicking away. My hubby got him on Nick Jr, and he just loves it! He will go through and listen to his favorite music and then he will play a ton of games! It's just so adorable!!!

Should I be worried that he is only 3 and is clicking away like an expert? Or should I be happy that he is working on his fine motor skills...heehee!

It's amazing what those little fingers can do isn't it? I used to laugh about the fact that I didn't want my little girl taking drinks without lids out of the kitchen but I'd let her play on the expensive computer. Seems kinda backward doesn't it?

We're Back!

My family had a great time this weekend. Like I mentioned, we headed to West Virginia right after Sunday church. We stopped to have some lunch, but got to Oglebay around 3. We checked into our room and I was worried about where my son would sleep. I forget to get his sleeping bag since our room was supposed to just have one queen size bed. I was hoping the room would have a couch for him to sleep on, but as we walked in, I was surprised to see 2 queen sized beds in the room! I was so very happy!!!

(You know those signs where it shows you what room numbers are what direction? Well, we were the only indoor room on a particular floor...so the sign only had our room number on it! We even had our own pop and ice machine! We will def try to stay in the room if we visit again!!!)
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

After we got settled in to our room, we headed out to explore. We visited the pool and the surrounding shops. We got a few C-mas gifts and then headed to Hoss's for dinner. When we were finished, it was finally dark enough to see the lights. We drove the 6 mile route and my son loved every minute of it! He especially loved the bridge of lights...very cool!

I would def like for this to be a yearly tradition for us. We had a great time exploring and it was nice to get away for a few days...plus, it really didn't cost that much! (You know how much of a penny pincher I am...heehee!!!)

Btw, my grandpa is doing well (thank you for all your prayers!). He doesn't need his hip replaced, but they will be putting a pin in it. And we are still not sure if he will be going home or not. But thanks again for your prayers!!!

We're Off

Today the family is off to West Virginia! Once there, we are going to see the Festival of Lights at Oglebay Park. My son just loves Christmas lights, so my hubby and I hope he has a great time tonight seeing over one million lights! We have actually gone before, but that was before my son was born. If he ends up liking it tonight, it might just have to be a yearly tradition for us!

After the lights, we'll head back to the lodge...that has an indoor pool! So, you know I'll be taking advantage of that!

Well I'm off now to pack. I've got about an hour to get a few things together before heading out to church. Then after church we will be making the 2 and 1/2 hour trip...should be fun!

Btw, please say a quick prayer for my grandpa. He has alzheimers and he fell yesterday and broke his hip. He's being operated on this morning, but until then he has to be tied down. Since he doesn't understand what is happening to him, he has been trying to get up to leave the hospital. Grandma is pretty upset and she's not sure what she's going to do. She's had a hard time taking care of him when he's well, but she doesn't think she will be able to now that he is hurt. So, he might not be able to go back home. He could have to stay in a nursing home where they are better qualified to take care of him. We are just not sure at this point, so please send up a prayer to the Big Guy in the sky for us please?! Thanks!!!

Have a great Sunday!!!

Dear Santa

(I found this on Captain Picard's site, so I had to include him in my letter!)

Santa Claus
North Pole, Earth

Dear Santa,

I have been a good girl.
It really wasn't my fault what happened at Captain Picard's Office party. It was Jemmers who spiked the punch with too much diet. I can't help it if I drank 13 glasses. It was so good---smelled and tasted just like Coffee.

I thought it was funny when I put G's bra on my head and danced the hussle on the couch while singing `Killin Me Softly'. I didn't mean to break Captain Picard's Digital camera and don't know why Captain Picard would accuse me of perjury.

I don't remember calling Oz's wife a silly rooster---even though she looked like one with blue eye shadow and black lipstick!

And when I threw up on Loelsh's husband's leg, it was only because I ate too much of that cereal.

After all that fun, I admit I was a little tired. So I fell asleep on my way home and drove my Ford Taurus through my neighbor's kitchen. I don't think that was any reason for my neighbor to call me a huge cat and have me arrested for stalking!

So, Santa...here I sit in my jail cell on Christmas Eve, all fabulous and stinky. And I'm really not to blame for any of this crazy stuff. Please bring me what I want the most---bail money!

Sincerely and quickly yours,
Trinity (Really a nice girl!)

P.S. It's only 130 bucks!

Make your own Dear Santa here!!!

T-13's T13

Thirteen Things about Trinity13

1. This is the earliest I've done my Thursday 13...I love getting things done early!!!

2. I'll be sending out my C-mas cards tomorrow. I've had them ready to go for about a week now, I just needed to get stamps!

3. I can't tell ya the last time I used a stamp. Since my hubby pays our bills online, we just don't use them much anymore.

4. My son is growing waaaay too fast! All of his shirts are belly shiners since he has a little pooch in the front. I can't wait till C-mas...he should be getting some new clothes that will actually fit him!

5. I love ending sentences in exclamation marks!!!!!!!

6. I saw Walk the Line a few weeks ago, and I still have the songs stuck in my head! What a great flick...and what a cutie pie Joaquin Phoenix is!!!

7. My all time fav Joaquin Phoenix movie would have to be The Village! In fact, I just watched the movie again this weekend. I just love that movie. I'm not one to watch the same movie in a 6 month period, but I want to watch it again this weekend...it's that good!!!

8. I've been getting to bed later and later this week. Tonight will be no different since I'll prob end up hittin the hay around 1am. That means I'll have about 5 hours of wonderful sleep tonight...but I hope to make it up next week during my vacation.

9. Who am I kidding myself, I won't make up sleep! I'll just stay up even later knowing that I'll be off the next day...and my son will still get up around 9, so there will be no extra sleep for me. :-(

10. Some time later this week my hubby and I will once again have to pass out flyers to phase 2 (96 units) and 3 (148 units) in our apartment complex. But, it's great exercise!

11. Why am I still getting pimples at 25?! I should have grown out of this!!!

12. I really need to get a few pics of my tree posted...I just haven't had the time.

13. Only one more day till my vacation!!!

Christmas Break

Today was my last day with the two year old this year. His mom is going in tomorrow for her scheduled C-sec. She's expecting a little girl which means I be watching a girl in my home once again. A year and a half ago I watched a 4 year old little girl and her brother (along with my regular crowd). I pretty much only had her for the summer, so it will be nice to once again have another girl in the house. I have to make sure that there are plenty of girly things for her to play with (when the time comes). I know my nieces have a good time playing over here with the toys I have, but I don't have them several days a week for 8 hours a day!

So, I won't see the two year old or his little sis till sometime next year. His mom has a long maternity leave, but I'll be watching the two year old once a week (starting in January) so that he stays used to me...and to give his mom a little break.

Next week I also won't have the red heads. Their parents will be on C-mas vacation...and I can't wait!!! It's been so long since I've had no work (excluding my son) for 5 days in a row! I will still have the autistic boy, but it will be nice to just relax after a morning with him.

Ahhhhh, I can't wait till next week! Life is grand when your vacation is coming up!!!

I am just a home care provider for the autistic boy Amanda Sue. I go into his home (two mornings a week...someone covers the other mornings) and help him get ready for school. I pack his lunch, dress him, do a few activities with him, and then I load him up in the school transportation car. Some mornings are easy, and some mornings he can be pretty bad (and violent). Each day is different.

Exercise

Well I def got my exercise for the day. I had my four boys from 7:30-5:15, and then my boy and I headed over to my mom's hair shop to clean. I worked for about 3 hours and then we went home. After getting home, the three of us bundled up and loaded up into the car. Then my hubby and I spent the next hour dropping of C-mas notices to all the apartments on our side of the street (phases 2 and 3). My hubby doesn't have to do this very often, but it comes with the resident manager job. I think it's def worth the time and energy put into passing out notices to get our rent cut down by about 60%!

I'm off to bed now smelling of the bleach I used earlier this evening while cleaning. Don't ya just love that smell?! ((Puke!!))

I actually do like the smell of bleach. I love when we do a load of towels and bleach them. I just love to smell them when I am getting out of the shower.

Bleach and Puke make an interesting cocktail on the planet Skiffffgut13c.

That's because they taste different there, like Vodka and Martini respectively.

But for gods sake don't go out drinking if you visit.

You will get a nasty shock!

5 Things

I got this from Better Safe Than Sorry...I'm supposed to list five things about me that you probably don't know. So, here goes!!!

1. When I was young, I used to try on my parents glasses. I loved wearing the glasses so much that I used to punch my eyes. I thought that if I punched them enough that I would wear out my eyes and my parents would have to get me glasses...it worked.

2. I used to steal small items from stores when I was about 12. I don't know why I did, but I was as much of a penny pincher then as I am now. I didn't steal a lot, but thankfully I quickly realized the error of my ways.

3. I peed my pants when I was 15. I was on a missions trip in Spain where a group of us helped out repairing and painting a children's camp. While there, toilet paper (and leaves) were hard to come by. It took me a while to find some tp, but I just couldn't make it! I ended up peeing my pants, but it was such a relief to get it out!

4. The first time I chica-chica-ed was the day after I got married. My hubby and I saved ourselves till then, but we had one busy wedding day. By the time we got through the wedding, pictures, reception, and dinner, it was past midnight when the marriage was official! Heehee!!!

5. When driving, I have a fear of getting to close to the cars to the right of me. I make sure to leave plenty of room for that side and I will drive on the left side of the road until I see a car coming. I started this when I accidentally hit the mirror of a parked car with the passenger mirror of my own car. I am still scared to death of hitting something! I thought I knew where I was at in my car, but I got overconfident and I paid for it (if you know what I mean).

Hi there!

Ouch to the eye-punching! And to think that now people get laser surgery so that they DON'T have to wear glasses! LOL.

The words "parents" and "glasses" somehow reminded me of my childhood, when our parakeet would sit on my father's glasses while my father was reading the newspaper. The parakeet would lean way over and chew on the top of the paper while my dad read!

I hated my glasses and would break them on purpose so I wouldn't have to wear them. It wasn't until I was in my thirties that an eye doctor really explained the reason why I had to wear them.

Hungry

Good grief, why am I soooo hungry right now. I mean it's 1:45am and my stomach is growling. I had dinner around 7pm, so I don't understand what the problem is! I def don't want to eat anything since I'll be going to bed in a few minutes. I don't want the food to sit heavily in my stomach. And, if I eat now, I'll be starving in the morning.

Btw, why is that when you eat something late at night, that you end up famished the next morning? If you eat late, you shouldn't have to eat breakfast the next day...the full stomach should just carry over.

Ahhhh, this is so aggravating! Maybe I'll just have a pop tart and call it a night.

Simply Pleasures

Name 5 simple pleasures that you like most, then pick 5 people to do the same. Try to be original and creative and not to use things that someone else has already used .

1. Sleeping in...My hubby will let me sleep in at least 2 Saturdays a month. It's the most wonderful way to start the weekend, especially is I stay up late the night before to watch tv or to surf. I remember sleeping in till 1pm when I was a teenager, but now I'm lucky to sleep past 10. Since I'm so old (at 25), if I sleep in too long, I am tired and I have back and neck pains all day...crazy, I know!

2. Having cash in my purse...I hardly ever have cash since I pay for everything with my bank card. When I have cash, I just feel special. Heehee!!! And I save it for a very special occasion.

3. Babysitters...I have quite a few willing family members who are able to watch me son. Whenever my hubby and I have the time and the money to go out, we usually always have someone to watch the boy. We are so blessed in that way!

4. Not having to clean the cat box...when I go into the bathroom and see that my hubby cleaned out the cat box (without being asked), I'm am just thrilled! I don't mind doing the chore myself, but it's great to not have to clean it. It's just a nice surprise!

5. No hair tangles...with my hair being long, it tangles very easily. Some days after my shower it takes a good 15 minutes to comb out my hair. I've used many different products to help, but I just have long, frizzy hair. Now if I get out of the shower and it only takes 2 minutes to brush out my hair, I'm a happy woman!!!

I hope some of those haven't been used before by other bloggers (and I have soooo many more I could include)...and I'm not going to tag anyone this time! Sorry, I know you're all disappointed, but feel free to steal it like I did (from Jootastic...thanks!).

Btw, today is my sister-in-laws birthday! Do me a favor and go to her blog and wish her a happy birthday!!!

T13

Thirteen Things about Trinity13

1. My hubby's granddad is back in the hospital again. We hope to get over there tonight to see how he's doing.

2. I have one weird cat! Instead of running away when the vacuum is turned on, she runs toward it. She just loves investigating things.

3. With Christmas being on a Sunday this year, we have really had to rearrange our normal celebrations. My hubby, son, and I would always open our gifts in the morning and then head over to my parents house. But my dad will be at his church early that morning to prepare the sound, lighting, and cameras (since he is the head tech). So, I think we are going to celebrate on C-mas eve with my parents, but after 8 since my brother has to work that day (he also has to work C-mas day as well).

4. I'm really going to miss the C-mas morning cinnamon and orange rolls that my mom makes. I told her that I still want some even if we have our C-mas in the evening, but it just won't be the same. :-(

5. I just finished C-mas shopping for 5 people in the past two days. I still need to buy for my dad (I was supposed to go in on a gift with my mom, but she changed her mind...so now I need to find something for him), and my aunt and uncle. There are a few more small things I want to get for my hubby and my son, but then I should be done.

6. I would love to start wrapping this weekend. I usually have all my gifts wrapped two weeks before C-mas. I just love being prepared!

7. My hubby had his apartment painter come over to the house today to re-touch all the dings and scratches in the walls. The stairway wall down to the basement was really bad since my hubby and I moved down our sectional couch. But now the walls look all clean again (and I didn't cost us a cent)!

8. This year my mom, sis, and I are once again having a cookie baking day and my mom's best friend and her daughter-in-law are joining us...and it's going to be at my house!!! I have more move-about space in my kitchen than my mom does. And that's important since we'll have two extra people helping out.

9. We will making peanut butter blossoms, 7 layer bars, fudge, no-bakes, buckeyes, (Girl Scout) thin mints, chocolate crinkles, and whatever else sounds good!

10. I finally have all my C-mas boxes all put away. They were the last boxes that needed to be moved around.

11. I have the privilege of watching my nieces and nephew this Friday! It's Lo's b-day tomorrow (Happy Birthday Lo!), and she and her hubby, Guru, are going out to celebrate. So I get to have their kids overnight!!! I can't wait...I just love sleepovers!!!!!

12. I still need to find a theme for my son's bathroom. I just have no clue what to pick. I would love to use the rugs I already have so I don't have to buy any more, but I need a theme to match. Maybe I need to head over to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and look in their clearance section.

13. I have the two year old for another 2 days this year. His mother is pregnant and she is being induced next Wednesday. She will be going on a 8 week maturnity leave, and then I'll have the siblings (at least) 3 times a week. So, by February I'll have 4 boys 3 and under, and a newborn to watch. Should be fun!!!

Did Ya Get That Meme?

I stole this from Jemmers, who stole it from Jootastic, who stole it from Amy and Tara, who I'm sure stole it from someone else!!!

1. Name 3 people you absolutely miss right this moment that you haven't seen in some time.
* Jemmers of course...I haven't seen her in like weeks!!!
* Family in Arizona
* My son...he went to bed hours ago!

2. Name 3 things you miss about home during the holidays (be it people, smells, foods, whatever).
* I miss being the first one up and checking out the presents before my siblings got up
* I miss waking my siblings up
* I miss making the orange and cinnamon rolls that we had before our presents

3. Name 1 holiday memory that you have from childhood that you will never forget.
There is one Christmas I will never forget! That's because it was the first year that my dad had a camcorder. He ended up taping 4 hours of us opening and playing with our gifts. So now I can watch the looooong tape anytime I want! (yeah, right...heehee!)

4. Name at least 1 favorite book or movie that always reminds you of the holidays.
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (I read this book every December when I was younger)

5. Name your top 3 favorite holiday songs that get you in the mood to celebrate.
* Merry Christmas Darling- Karen Carpenter
* The Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth- David Bowie and Bing Crosby
* Breath Of Heaven (Mary's Song)- Amy Grant

6. If you could go anywhere other than home for the holidays, where would you choose to go and who would you want to bring along?
Maybe Oglebay Park (we just love their C-mas lights!) with the entire family.

7. The Grinch or Rudolph?
Grinch all the way baby!

8. Formal holiday dinner or casual get-together food?
Casual!!!

9. Name the best holiday gift you ever received and why.
That would have to be the year that my parents gave my hubby and I a cruise for Christmas (and our anniversary and birthdays combined). I'll never forget it!

10. Describe the funniest holiday moment you've ever had.
Well it wasn't funny at the time, but it involved my sister. She's not one to think straight and one C-mas a few years ago she ended up turning on a stove burner. The problem with this was that she didn't turn on an empty burner, but the one with a glass dish sitting on it. Well the glass ended up exploding and it burned holes into the kitchen carpet (that's right, I said kitchen carpet!). My sister walked away without a scratch, but she has def learned her lesson!

11. Name a holiday memory that truly warmed your heart.
That memory would be of my son's first Christmas. He was just so much fun to watch as he opened up gifts for the very first time!

12. Name your top 3 favorite TV specials that frequent the airwaves during the holiday season.
* How the Grinch Stole Christmas
* National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
* A Christmas Story

13. Sledding, snowball fight, snow angels or building a snowman?
I would love to go sledding again! It would be the perfect snow activity since my driveway is so steep.

14. Eggnog, hot chocolate, or hot cider?
Hot Chocolate...mixed with a little bit of coffee!

15. Candy canes or fruit cake?
Def the candy canes!!!

16. Favorite holiday cookie?
Even though it's not a cookie, I love my mom's peanut fudge that she only makes for the holidays.

Not Happy

Rant on

I love routine. If something happens to affect my routine, it wears on my patience. I'm able to work around any disruption, but I love keeping to a schedule. With watching four boys, I have to keep to a routine!

One of my favorite routines is blogging right before bed. I get on the computer between 10 and 11 and I write and visit others. I'm usually off the computer by midnight, and then I head straight for bed. It's something I do every night (with the expecting of the move a week ago).! It's just like brushing my teeth...I brush my teeth and blog every night before I can rest easily.

You would think that a person's husband would pick up on the fact that his wife has this nightly routine. But no...since we now have Broadband, things are different. We have a faster internet connection (as of yesterday), and I was to assume last night that my computer time will now and forever be my hubbys. He was not patient enough to deal with the dial-up, like I was, so now that we have Broadband, the computer is his to use in the evening.

So, I need to finish up all my blogging and commenting during the day since I don't go anywhere. I only watch four boys between the hours of 7:15 and 5:45, so I should have no problem at all just hopping on the computer before evening time...right?!

Please understand, I love my hubby (and he will prob be reading this later tonight), but sometimes just I need to vent! I'm pissed off and frustrated, and I have no patience left.

Rant off

(Btw, can anyone tell that my aunt is due in town next week? Mind letting my hubby know?)

Party!

Last night my hubby and I went to his works annual Christmas party. We try to get to it every year to enjoy all the free food! Anyway, I had (as usual) a hard time deciding what to wear. We would be seeing all his work buddies and their wives, so I had to look my best. The invite said semi-formal to business casual, so I dressed in my sexy brown slacks (which I love!) and a brown shirt that had a nice print and shows off my arms and cleavage (I thought about putting on a cruise dress, but I thought it would be too dressy). I kept my hair down, and even straitened it to look my best. Then I put on some of my mom's bling-bling to look even more dressy.

My my hubby and I got to the party, I started to feel very underdressed! A lot of the women look like they were on the way to a prom. They had their hair professionally done up and they had on floor length gowns. I could not believe how dressed up these people were for being business casual!!! But, I could tell the difference between the people who work in office and the maintenance staff (with my hubby being the latter). The office people dress up every day, so to step it up a notch for a party, they went all out with their outfits. Dressing up for a maintenance man is combing their hair and tucking in their shirt...heehee!

Anyway, we had a great time at the party. We had some delicious food along with some even better desserts! My fav dessert last night would have to be the chocolate covered strawberries! I just love those!!! They are sooo very yummy!

Like I said, my hubby and I had a wonderful time (even if we didn't dance). I just know that next year I will be going all out with my outfit! I'll spend a whopping $20 on a new outfit instead of the usual $5.

I am sure you looked wonderful. I know that some of these business parties can get pretty fancy. I remember the last one I went to was really nice and really dressy.

This is why I hate going to these parties. It isn't expensive enough just to cover Christmas itself, there has to be office party bling and getups. But WHY, oh WHY didn't you dance? My hub doesn't fast dance but does for slow songs. I'd be out there dancing in my own little party bubble! LOVE Choc covered strawberries, they are the best! Glad you had a good time!

The Greatest Show On Earth

Last night my hubby and I were able to take our son to the circus ( since we found a few great, and cheap, seats online...it was just about as much as a trip to the movies)! Both my son and my hubby had such a great time since neither one had ever been to the circus before! It was my second trip, with my first being over 15 years ago. So, all three of us had a wonderful time watching the performances and the animals. We were able to make it to the pre-show where we saw the workers and animals up close and personal. I also got to pet one of the elephants (who later painted a picture for everyone).

I think my son loved the animals more than the performers. He was just in awe as 8 tigers and 10 elephants came out into the rings. He loved seeing them do their tricks and he was sure to clap for them! But there was one clown that he especially loved...Bello. Bello had my son crackin up! It was too cute. Bello did a few tricks on a trampoline that had the boy in stitches! He just loved that silly clown!

I def think that this will have to be a yearly tradition since my son had such a good time (as well as my hubby...heehee!).

I went to the circus like 9 or 10 years ago and had a pretty good time.

I am a big fan of all of the acrobatic stuff.

Hello Everyone!!!

Ahhh, it feels so good to be back online. Thanks everyone for your prayers, support, and comments (and I want to say a special thank you to Guru who guest posted for me!) !!! I wasn't able to read your comments till late yesterday, but I really appreciate them and all of you! You have no idea how much I missed reading your blogs! And being online is a release for me. I am so relaxed when I can sit down and be connected to the web. But, I have so much to catch up on! Since most of my readers post everyday, I will def be reading all weekend (well, when I'm not unpacking that is!).

Speaking of the move, it went really well thanks to all the help we received (and thanks Lo for watching the boy for us)! My hubby and I had everything moved by Saturday, except for the big and/or heavy pieces. So while I started unpacking the new house on Saturday, the guys loaded up the furniture at the old house. And when they were unloading the stuff here at the new place, my sis and I went out to get pizza (and the best garlic bread in the world). In other words, I got out of doing all the heavy lifting!!! Heehee!

As of today, I have most of the rooms almost finished. They still need some Trin decorating, but that will be for another day. For right now I will be getting out my Christmas decorations and leave the rest for after the holidays.

Tonight my hubby and I hope to finish up the kitchen after the boy goes to bed. I need to put up the rest of my doughboy stuff along with a few other small wall appliances (like my can opener). We also will be putting the finishing touches on our bedroom and basement. And I hope the hubby cleans out the garage this weekend...I would really like to park my car in there!

Well I'm off for now...to organize of course!!! Thanks again for all your comments, and I hope to come by all of your sites this weekend and comment back!
