The Date

My son and I had a wonderful time last night. He wanted chicken for dinner, so we headed over to Frisch's Big Boy. I had a coupon for a free kid's meal, so it was the perfect place to go! Plus, I love their salad bar. It's a pretty good price, and it helped me eat healthy.

After helping my son eat his fries, we paid, and then headed to Easton. We caught the evening showing of Curious George. It was soooo adorable! The monkey was so cute, and I even cried once or twice (it's a pregnancy thing). I don't think we will be buying it, but it was def the perfect movie for us to see!

We have one busy weekend coming up! Do you have any weekend plans?

Sounds like a really fun time. Good for you taking the time to have a date with your son. Those are the things he will remember when he is grown.

I was pregnant when I saw "The Prince of Egypt" in the theater and that made me cry!! Definitely a pregnancy thing! :)

Cash? What's that???

I don't carry cash and I never have. It's just not in my routine. I deposit my paychecks (via the ATM) and then go on my way. I hardly ever withdraw cash from my bank account. In fact, when I do have cash in my wallet, it feels so weird. I horde it for weeks since I'm not used to spending it and it makes me feel rich with it in my possession. Then I would usually spend it on fast food since they only took cash.

But now all fast food places around here take the card! About 9 last night I was craving a roast beef sandwich (from here), but as usual, I didn't have any cash. Boy was I happy to see that Visa sign!!! I was able to appease the baby with a late night snack...and a jamocha shake (hmmmmm!!!).

Seeing that credit card sign also has it's drawbacks. I used to be able to save money (and help my waist line) by not having the cash to stop and eat, but now I can eat whenever and where ever I want! It's really not helping my bank account!!! But, do you know how great it feels to charge $1.59 on my card for one of these?

Blogger loelsh said...

Same here, I hardly ever have cash and if I do, it's never more than $10 (and that's mostly to give my 3rd grader lunch money on pizza day).

I mean, really, there's no need to carry it. Everywhere you go takes a card. Well, except for CiCi's but that's another story.

It pretty much makes things easier. Now when I see people outside of stores selling things or asking for donations, I can tell them I don't have any cash and it's not a lie!

March 29, 2006 9:33 AM

Blogger Pete said...

I never have cash, either. In fact, I always feel dumb going into a gas station or Walgreens to buy a pop and a candy bar or a pop-tart or something and having to use plastic. I just don't carry the green stuff.

But, Lo, I always tell beggars or street collectors that I don't have cash, even if I do. I am my own charity. In fact, if anyone wants to donate to the "Guru is a Poor MammaJamma Fund", I will gladly take all manner of donations!

Blogger Jana said...

Do Americans really need to be able to buy fast food on credit?? Scary. But it is nice when you're out somewhere and you're hungry that you don't have to worry about whether or not you have cash. Of course, now I can't tell the kids, "No, we can't go to McDonalds. I don't have any money."

March 29, 2006 10:16 AM

It really isn't *credit* that we use. It is debit cards and the like. I know I personally am not buying fast food with money I don't have.

You're right there. It's good to have a card which I do too but it's very difficult at times to discipline yourself not to use it especially when you see something you have long desired. It's easy to just hand over the card and purchase the item but when the billing comes...ayayay!

Too Old?

Yesterday I was changing in front of my four year old, and I started to think that he could possibly be to old to see me unclothed. In the past, he has taken showers with me (to save time) and seen me dress. But how old do you think is too old to be undressing in front of your kids?

I remember seeing my mom undress in front of me...in fact, she still doesn't have a problem sharing a dressing room with me. But then, of course, it's different with my dad. I was about 5 or 6 when I had to start knocking on his bedroom door since he didn't want me walking in on him.

So, because I have a little boy, should I start watching how much skin he sees? Should I make him leave the room cause I need to shower or change? What was the age cut off for your kids?

14
Blogger Unknown said...

I started asking the boys to leave the room right around Christmas. That's when one of them started to question why I had big boobies. LOL. While I want them to be comfortable, I also want them to know they are also entitled to privacy. My five year old now gets dressed on his own (I lay out his clothes) and goes to the bathroom with the door closed.

One down, two to go!

Blogger Pete said...

In my opinion, it depends on your stance on nudity. People who are more nudist in their ways will never conceal their bodies from their families.

If you take a more conservative body approach, I'd say 4 sounds good. Because I have 2 girls, the younger one got started earlier on it by proxy. I wasn't going to let one in the room and not the other.

My main point is, I don't ever want my daughters to be able to mentally make a comparison between their future husbands' "anatomy" and mine. That seems damaging :-)

What an interesting question! It seems like 4 is the magic # for everyone. Seems like my kids always have a question to ask me when I'm in the tub. My boys are 7 & 5. I don't let them stare at me but they still see a little bit of this and a little bit of that. We just don't make a big deal about it.

However, my daughter just turned 10 and it makes me really uncomfortable when she sees my husband (that doesn't happen very often). So I guess the right age is whatever you are comfortable with.

Church

Yesterday I had the chance to visit the church where my hubby and I were married. Though the service was good, it really made me miss the church that I am now attending. I missed all the great songs that we sing as well as the music directors. I also made me realize how much I love hearing my pastors preach. I just have more appreciation for what my church means to me. I really feel at home there, so it was weird to visit another church...even to one I attended for over 7 years.

So, I am very thankful that God showed us to our new church. We had been looking for over a year for the perfect church for us, and I'm very glad we have finally found it!! We have been attending since November of last year and we have already gone through a membership class. But this Wednesday should make us official members after we have our meeting with one of the pastors. I'm very excited to see how God is going to work through us in this wonderful church!!!

Blogger Jana said...

I feel the same way about our church. We just adore our pastor's preaching style and unflinching dedication to the truths of the Bible. I don't think I could go back to the church I grew up in and be comfortable.

Blogger loelsh said...

As you know, I am not happy with the way our music is currently being handled/managed. I do like our pastor's preaching style though.

We tried church shopping a while back and couldn't find anything that we liked better. So, we ended up back at the same church.

However, for right now, I am pretty happy where we are. I have a great group of friends there that I would miss terribly if we or they decided to leave the church. But who knows what the future holds.

I'm glad you guys have finally found a good church home that you feel so comfortable at. An answer to prayer!

Tired

I am oh so tired today. It's raining out so it's making me even more sleepy. The house is pretty quiet since the boys are playing, and it's nice and dark in the living room. I could just zonk off right now. I thought about getting myself a cappuccino, but those make me even more tired. There's just something about having a nice warm drink in your belly...makes my eyes very heavy!

I can't wait till my afternoon nap! My hubby is a little jealous because of it, but it takes a lot of work to schedule in some rest time. After lunch I have to get two little down for a nap (not always easy), my son in the shower, dry him off and dress him, fold laundry, pick up toys, and find some form of entertainment for my son before I can rest for about 90 minutes. Then I'm up again to feed the boys their dinner before the red heads are picked up. But if I didn't get my 90 min nap in, I'd be going to bed at 8! I don't think I could live with myself if I went to bed before my son! :-)

Well, I hope you all have a great weekend!!! Any special plans?

hi there! i have my TT up from last week but wanted to comment since i missed this one... i had that same problem with brushing teeth when i was pregnant! i still gag when brushing and still can't stand the taste of toothpaste... the dentist told me it's ok, as long as you brush.. it's the brushing action and not so much the toothpaste that cleans your teeth anyway! so i still only use water to brush with!!!!
and congrats on being pregnant!

Baby Names

As some of you know, I am a planner. I plan out vacations months (and sometimes up to a year) in advance. I also schedule my day out to things that need to be accomplished each hour. I plan for Halloween 6 months ahead, and I try to get my Christmas shopping started by December 28th. In other words, I love schedules. I like knowing exactly what I should be doing at any given hour.

My planning has also included baby names. My hubby and I had my son's name picked out before he was conceived. We have also had a girl name picked out (since 1997-when we were dating). We both love this girl name and I thought it was a given if I'm carrying a girl. But boy was I wrong!

My hubby and I have another boy name picked out, but it's a neutral name. So my hubby suggested to me that we just name the baby this neutral name (and forget our first choice for a girl's name!). That way we, and the boy, can just call the baby one name. The hubs really loves this name and he thought that it could avoid confusion in the end.

So, I don't know what to do. I love love love the first girl name we picked out, but I also really love the neutral name. I know we still have over 6 months to decided, but I didn't think I had to make this decision. I thought that our girl name was taken care of...but like I said, I do really like the neutral name we picked out.

Ahhh, what to do, what to do.

I'm pretty sure I know the girl name, but without the neutral name, I don't know that I can offer much advice. I mean there is a big difference between the qualities of Terry(i), Billy(ie), Ashley, Kim, Kerry, etc. Are you definitely keeping it a secret?

March 22, 2006 9:21 AM

Blogger Trinity13 said...

We are not keeping it a secret with family and friends...just with the blogging world (sorry loyal readers, I just like being a little anonymous).

Blogger Jana said...

I'm not really one to offer advice, since two of our kids weren't named until after they were born, even though we knew we were having boys. So if it were me, I'd wait and see if she looks like the name fits her, if it's a girl. They're not gonna make you fill out the birth certificate ahead of time! ;)

I love the name you had picked for a girl. I also like G's middle name for a girl.

I, personally, am not a big fan of gender neutral names. But, that's me.

We had our boy's name picked out before I got pg with the second girl. We thought of a different boy name we liked when we got pg w/ the boy, but ultimately decided to go with the one we chose years ago. I am really happy we did.

We'll just use the other boy name if we ever have another boy. (I know, guru, no more babies!!)

Okay, I am the official owner of a gender neutral name. It has never really bothered me EXCEPT that my parents spelled it the boys' way. So, when I go to a new doctor or any appointment, they always say Mr. Deputy. Ugh. Hate that. That's my only complaint.

Here's a suggestion. One of the names for the middle name and the other for the first name. Maybe?

Well, from the names you supplied me with, I like the unisex name for the girl. I think it is a fine name for a boy, as well.

Normally not a fan of too many unisex names, I like this particular one for a myriad of reasons, so my vote would be for it.

Would you use one of the "old names" as a middle name, then?

March 22, 2006 2:31 PM

Blogger Shelley said...

You know, sometimes it's the first name you pick out that ends up being "the one". I loved the name Olivia and my hubby hated it. After a book with 30,000 freakin names in it, we ended up settling on Olivia (Liv for short). My hubby loved the name Garret for a boy when I was expecting my son, and I hated it! When he was born, it just fit. Other names that were in the running (just to give you ideas: Annika (was supposed to be for my son, if he had been a girl, but at the time the 1st Star Wars came out and we thought it sounded too much like Anakin)...we also liked Keelin, Sarah, Charlotte, Raissa, Eric, Mason and Dawson.)

There were others but I don't remember. Geez...kind of makes me want another babe...sigh...I'll just live through you, okay?!?!

Have a great day, and thanks for your kind comments on my blog today.

March 22, 2006 2:55 PM

Blogger G said...

I say, we wait until after we find out if it's a boy or a girl to settle on a name, but it sure would be nice to refer to our child by something other than "the Baby"

...We ARE gonna find out the gender ahead of time right?

March 22, 2006 10:42 PM

Blogger Leslie said...

If it's a girl, go with the love, love, love name...lol! But I guess you and hubby have to agree, that's all a part of it ;)

So tough, too many choices.

March 22, 2006 11:41 PM

Blogger Leslie said...

Okay so I posted BEFORE reading hubby's comment. Good point made, wait until you know the gender to decide and put all planning to a hault... GASP.

I found out the gender ahead of time with all 3 and do not regret that one little bit. We then were able to refer to baby by name during pregnancy as opposed to 'baby'.

March 22, 2006 11:44 PM

Blogger Jen said...

We had a boy name picked out for YEARS, but by the time we found out Tiernan was a boy, my sister was pregnant and 3 weeks ahead of us. At her ultrasound, she found out she was having a boy and laid claim to OUR BOY NAME!!!!

To be fair, we were keeping it a secret. So, I guess the moral of the story is to just be flexible, keep your options open until you're signing that birth certificate! :-)

It's always good to have a name for a boy and a girl beforehand. At least the excitement of having a 2nd baby will not affect your selection of a name.

We are def working through spelling issues DW!

Same here BoN!!!

I think we already know Day, but thanks!

We are def using our first choice girls name Guru. I guess the neutral name is taken!

Crazy Blogger

Good night, I have had a ton of problems with blogger recently! Last week it keeps giving me errors, but today I can't even see my blog. All I have is a white screen. I have even tried typing in trinity13.com, but it brings me back to trinity13.blogspot.com, so I still have this stupid white screen. Maybe I need to rethink staying on blogger. I hate this!!!

Snot-Nose Kid

When I watched the red-heads Friday, the youngest had a snot nose. Since then, my son has also had a snot nose...and I have no idea where he got it! :-)

So all weekend my hubby and I have been cleaning up snot. My son's shirt sleeves have white and green streaks on them and he has been sniffing constantly. I feel so bad for him, but all I can do is carry around a box of tissues. At least the kid has gotten better at blowing his nose. (But unfortunately, my hubby has used his crazy twisted toilet paper routine to get some of the burgers out!)

I, on the other hand, have been stuffed up for a few weeks. I had to double up on my nightly pillows so that I can breath through the night. Ahhh, such is life!

How did your weekend go? Any colds going through your household?

I've been unbelievably lucky for about a year now. My daughters have had several & even though I've nursed them, I haven't caught one yet.

You poke fun at the twisted toilet paper technique, but it works, I tell ya! It's better than covering your finger with tissue, because the twist is smaller than one's finger and can fit further up one's nose.

One of the benefits of being single and not working -- not much exposure to germs. I had colds so bad growing up that I would literally carry around a box of kleenex and paperbag in school (to throw the tissues in, instead of getting up).

Night Out

Image hosting by Photobucket

Last night my mom treated my sister and I to a Chonda Pierce show! It was excellent!!! She is so funny! Chonda has written several funny books, but she is great to see live. It felt so good to just be able to relax and laugh! And it was really cool to be sitting so close to the stage. Since the seats were first come, first serve, the three of us made sure to get to in the building right after the doors were open. We found great seats six rows back, but then my mom noticed a few seats in the front row!!! So, needless to say, we had a great view of the show!

Oh, we also had a great dinner before the show. We tried to get into The Spaghetti Warehouse (which is right across from where the show was), but the line was out the door! So, we headed down to the Phillips Coney Island restaurant (that has been downtown since 1912). I hadn't been there in years! Last time I ate there was when I worked downtown over five years ago. They have the best (but little) hot dogs!!! It was sooo very good!

So, the three of us had a great time last night! It was wonderful just spending time with my mom and sis for a while. (Thanks again G and Lo for watching the boy!!!)

Finally!

I'm online finally. My laptop wouldn't connect, but my hubby has fixed it up for me!!! (Thanks dear!!!)

I thought about not even getting online today (since I'm on vacation of course!), but I couldn't keep my fans in anticipation! :-P

I've thought about taking my son to a movie today since we haven't really done anything this week. For the most part, my son and I have just hung out at home together. We have watched movies, played on the computer, and had a ton a fun...but all here at the house. We did go grocery shopping yesterday, but that's really not doing anything special. So, we really need to get out!

Btw, you know morning sickness can happen all day long? Fun, fun!!!

Get Off My Butt!

I was so lazy yesterday. My son and I stayed home and laid around all day. We didn't do a thing! It was wonderful!!! But today, we actually have things to do. I have a ton of laundry and dishes to do as well as grocery shopping. We are running low on food in the house, and I need to get ingredients for the pistachio cake I'm making for tonight. My hubby and I are trying out a new cell group this evening and they want green food items (cause Friday is St Patrick's Day)...so the cake will be perfect!

So I'm off to get everything accomplished before lunchtime...cause after lunch it's nap time!!!! Lately I have not been able to go through the day without my nap. I tried yesterday and I about passed out, so it is in the schedule for today!

Have a great Tuesday everyone!!!

Great Weekend

My family spent a great weekend together. We helped my parents celebrated their 28 year anniversary at a really good restaurant, and then we went went bowling! We were out till 11:30 last night having a blast at the bowling alley. We went with my parents, brother, sister, and her boy friend. And the alley actually had shoes that fit my four year old! They were soooo cute!!!

My son did so well with the bumper lane he was on. He would pick up his light weight ball, walk up to the foul line, put the ball down, and then push it as hard as he could. He didn't get any strikes, but he was able to spare a few times! He actually scored higher than my sister's boyfriend! Heehee!!!

Btw, my son didn't get up till about 10 today, so it was wonderful being able to sleep in!!! Ahhh, life is grand!

Friday!

Yeeeeeeesssss, today is Friday! And I'm off today! I don't have the red heads till next Friday people! Next Friday! That's right, I have 7 days off in a row!!! That means I won't get paid till next week, but get to spend some quality time with my boy!

I would love to take him to see a cheapo movie today since it's raining out. But if it's nice next week, we will def have to get to the park. It's so hard to get out of the house with three boys (four and under), but we will be able to do so many things since it will just be me and the boy. I can't wait!!!

Thursday 13

Thirteen reasons Trinity13 loves her new house.

We have been living in our new place for about 3 months now...and I love it more every day!

1. It's in a nice, safe area
2. We are in a much better school district
3. It's twice as big as our old house
4. We have a large living room
5. I have a food pantry!
6. My son has his own play room
7. My hubby has a room to call his own-The Cave
8. I have a basement where I can store things (our old place only had a crawlspace)

The Site Of The Day!!!

Awww, thank you so much for choosing me for the site of the day Michele!!! I can't believe it! I feel so privileged! And for those who are visiting, I do have some "glorious news to share"! My husband and I are expecting our second little one in October! I'm due around the 24th, but I'm hoping to make it past trick-or-treat night since I already have a costume (when I was prego with my son, I wore a Pillsbury Doughboy outfit for Beggars Night). But I don't think my doc will let me go 10 days late again like she did with my first.

Image hosting by Photobucket

This is the picture I'm sending out to all the relatives to let them know of our good news! I thought it would be better than calling everyone since this way they can show it off.

Btw, I have a feeling that I'm carrying another boy. Even though I would love to have a girl, I think it would be great for my son to have a little brother. Then we can try for our little girl!!!

Any predictions?

The problem with having another boy (and trust me, I know this from experience) is that when you are pregnant with #3, you will get endless "Trying for a girl?" or "I bet you hope it's a girl" comments. But the bond between brothers is awesome, so I'm hoping for a boy for you!

March 08, 2006 9:15 AM

Blogger Karen said...

Congrats on being Site of the Day! And especially congrats on your new little miracle. You have a great attitude about boy vs. girl. I was the same way when I was pregnant with my third. I thought that having another boy would be splendid but was thrilled to have a girl.

Now, I'm thinking that girls are MUCH harder than boys - especially teenage girls - yikes!

I was really hoping for a boy with my second baby, but looking back I'm so glad I had another girl. They play really well together, when they aren't fighting! :)

But I know when they are older, the will be really happy to have each other.

I agree with Jana, I got a lot of those comments, only the other way around when I was pregnant with #3.

I know it may be kind of early to tell, but so far, has it been similar to your first pg? My pg's with the girls were almost exactly the same and with the boy, was completely different. That doesn't always mean anything, but for me it did.

Either way, I'm really happy for you guys and happy to have another niece or nephew!!!!!

Blogger loelsh said...

Oh, and I'm sure the Doc isn't gonna let you go past your due date, especially with the second one, you're more likely to go into labor on your own before then.

I say you should aim for the 14th! You know why.

Blogger Oh great One said...

Predictions? Everyone seems to have their ways of predicting but not me. I have no secret methods. Sorry.

Who knows, your due date may change between now and delivery. Both of my kids dates were tinkered with as they developed.

Good luck!

Awww, thank you BoN...Neo's pretty happy! :-)

Thanks for the compliment Kenju!

I never thought of that Jana...just something to look forward to I guess! Heehee!!!

I too would be thrilled to have a girl Karen. But as long as the baby is healthy, I don't care!

Thanks Janet!

Thanks for the well wishes Megan!

Girls are easier to shop for PJ! Why don't they make more cute stuff for boys????

They do play well together Lo! And I know I loved having one of each (a sis and a bro), so we will try to do the same with the boy.
I have had cramping with this pregnancy Lo, and I don't remember having those with the first one. I was also working with the first and I'm at home now, so I don't know if that will make a difference in how I'm feeling.
Btw, I just told G yesterday that if I went early, it would be really really cool to have the baby on the 14th!!! He loves the idea!!!!!

That's okay OGO...we really don't care what sex the baby is as long as he/she is healthly.

Thanks for stopping Jugglernaut!!

It's True

In case some of you didn't pick up on it from my post yesterday, my husband and I are indeed expecting our second child!!! We found out in the middle of February that God had blessed us again (btw, we started trying Jan 2004)! But, my hubby and I wanted to keep it a secret until my son's birthday party. We knew that a majority of our family would be gathered here, so it was the perfect time to announce our big news! My mom actually stood up when she heard, but I think Lo had the first reaction. I heard her excited voice before anyone else!

My husband is so excited! He doesn't even talk to me anymore, only the baby in me! Heehee! It's so cute!!! He will kiss the baby goodbye in the morning as well as right before bed. I think he is more excited than I am!

Okay, I'm off now to go throw up! Later all!!!

Par-tay!

Image hosting by Photobucket

We had a wonderful turnout for that party on Saturday. If I counted correctly, we had 27 people in our house! By 6:30 everyone had their bellies full with movie theatre concession treats (thanks again for helping out PJ)! Then we sang happy birthday to my boy before cutting the star cake (btw, have you ever cut a star shaped cake? Not easy!). While everyone was enjoying the dessert, my son opened his gifts. He got some wonderful things! He got a ton of outfits (which he really needed!), a gift card, a few books (including this cute one!) and puzzles, cars galore (including a Hot Wheels bank and chair), a few movies, Star Wars figures, a huge kite, Lego set, Leapster game, a drawing center, Color Wonder set, and a few other great things! The boy def had fun tearing through the tissue and wrapping paper!!!

Image hosting by Photobucket

Btw, of all his gifts, this one is my fav (my hubby and I thought it was perfect)! If you can't see the words on the shirt, click here.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Then around 8 we put in a movie for the kids in the "movie theatre" (aka, the Cave-what the finished part of the basement is called). The night before my hubby was able to string lights down the stairs to go with the theme...I think he did a wonderful job! They look great!!! Most of the guest left around 9, then we put the boy to bed about an hour later. Then it was the adults turn to watch a movie. Seven of us headed down the the "theatre" and watched Walk the Line! I just love love love that movie!!!

I hope your weekend was as great as ours!!!

I'm Just About Ready!

Image hosting by Photobucket

We have just a few more things to do today to get ready for the party tomorrow. I need to clean up the bathrooms and wash the rugs. I also need to vacuum the carpets and mop the kitchen floor. I'd think we will also move around the couches here in the living room. I want there to be enough room for everyone that will be coming (about 24 people).

I don't think I'll be able to post anything tomorrow since I'll be busy preparing all the food. I'm making and decorating a double-decker star cake in the morning. Then I'll be attempting to make some star shaped popcorn treats. I also have some star candy molds that I will try to put to good use as well!

So, I'm off now to make up some goodie bags for the kids! I hope they like what I have for them!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

T Thirteen!

Trinity13's Thirteen Things

1. My son had a wonderful birthday yesterday!
2. He has a birthday doughnut and a birthday bowl of cereal for breakfast.
3. Then we went out shopping for food for his birthday.
4. We got hotdogs, sausage dogs, nachos, pretzels, and popcorn for the Saturday party.
5. As also got supplies for his star cake!
6. After his dad got home, we decided to head to Easton and eat at Max & Erma's.
7. Then we saw the movie Doogal after dinner.
8. It def wasn't the best movie I have ever seen, and I was even bored at times. But, it was a kid's movie for my son (looking back, we should have just seen Curious George)
9. All in all, I think the boy had a wonderful birthday!
10. Today I don't have either one of the red-heads since the oldest has whooping cough!
11. He's contagious, so his daddy is staying home with him.
12. I hope he is better by this weekend so he can come to the boy's party!!

Aw, what a great day! I bet he LOVED it all!

I don't think 4 is too young for Star Wars, but we may be crazy. My 4 year old doesn't act out the movies, and he seems to have a good grasp of real/fantasy, so it works for us. Plus he's got 3 older sisters who've been watching this stuff forever so he gets exposed to stuff earlier than they would have...

Thanks for stopping by, I'll go link you up!

Happy Birthday!!!

Today we are celebrating my son's fourth birthday!!! I can't believe how old he is! I remember how much my hubby and I wanted a child of our own. We tried for exactly 11 month before God blessed us with him.

I had a pretty easy pregnancy. I was nauseous most of the time, but only got sick on Sundays for some weird reason. I lost weight at the beginning since I was eating really healthy, but I gained quite a bit at the end of my pregnancy since I wasn't working by then.

My son was definitely comfortable right where he was. When he was a week late, the doctor gave me the option of a Csec or a long natural birth that would probably led to a Csec (since I'm shaped funny). So, I opted for the Csec...which I guess was an answer to prayer! I always prayed for a quick, easy, and painless birth, but I guess I should have been more specific!!

So, my doctor gave me a couple of dates to choose from for my Csec. I was really neat to pick out my son's birthday-March 1st!

So 10 days late and an epidural later, my son was born! I remember hearing him crying till my husband held him. As he talked, our son settled down immediately! He def knew the sound of his daddy's voice!

I feel so blessed to have my son in my life! He amazes me everyday with the new things that he has learned. So, happy fourth birthday sweetie!!! Your momma loves ya babydoll!!!

(Btw, thanks for all your great advice yesterday! I really appreciate it and I will be sure to remember it the next time I get a rude comment!)

Incidentally, I was thinking. I have two nephews and one niece (your son being one of those, of course). How would one collectively refer to them? You know, we have the gender neutral children, grandchildren, parents, etc, but I always hear "nieces and nephews".

Is there a collective, gender neutral word for them?

Nope. That whole relationship branch is just the red-headded stepchild of the family tree, I guess.

(No offense to your redheads!)

But, I have a nephew from Trin and a niece and a nephew from my brother. If I say my brother-in-law's kids and brother's kids, that is longer than nieces and nephews. And brats could mean my kids too (since I call them my brats, anyway).

It isn't that I'm vocally lazy and mind the extra syllables, I was just wondering linguistically.
