A Funny!

PJ gave this to me! Thanks girl!!!

Soon after my wife and I met, she mentioned how she really wished that she could afford a riding lawnmower. She was a single gal that worked all day and was often tired in the evening when she got home from work.

So, being the handy sort of guy that I was, I made her a riding lawnmower.

I guess I thought she would squeal with delight and give me a big hug.

To this day I have never been able to understand why women are so hard to please.

hmmmmm, that's strange that she wouldn't give him a big hug for this, maybe if it was pink, that would have done the trick!

Somewhat Relaxing

Finally, my week has slowed down. I went to the autistic boy's house this morning. And I thank God that he didn't have any melt-downs(thanks for all your prayers concerning him)! He actually took a nap for me! He hasn't done that in months(while I've watched him).

My bite mark is looking a little redder today(and has scabbed up). It is quite sore and will probably bruise up. But, it's my fault that I got it in the first place. I should have moved faster. There could have been some way for me to get out of the way of his teeth. I'll know better next time he comes after me.

On a side note, we spent Wednesday evening at my parents house. It was my mom's birthday and she wanted to have burgers, corn on the cob, and watermelon. So, I sliced up a melon, baked some muffins, and headed over to her house. I cooked up the corn and the potato crowns, sent my dad out to grill the burgers, and set the table....and included a seat for my sister's guy. This was his first dinner with the parents. I think it went pretty well, but her guy was quiet. Usually he is cracking jokes right along with my hubby, but not that night. But, I guess that is understandable seeing as though it was the first time he had a "conversation" with my dad.

Btw, I found some awesome deals at Walmart last night!!! They had not one, but THREE $1 racks!!! Ah, I was in clearance shopping heaven! They had two piece boy outfits, swimming trunks, shirts, and girl shorts all for only $1! Those kinds of deals make my week!

Ahhh, life is grand with $1 sales!!!

Maybe I just dont know much about autistic children, but I cant believe you were bitten! What do you do in that type of situation? Are the parents aware? Surely, its not just part of the job description??

Well, when the boy gets upset(and he has good and bad months), he tries to bite, kick, and hit himself and everyone around him. I am used to this and can usually avoid getting hurt. Like I said, I just wasn't fast enough on Thursday.

His mom knows about my bite and is also healing from a bite that the boy gave her a few weeks ago.

I def knew what I was getting into. The boy wasn't as bad then as he is now, but I am now used to it. I really do love and care for him, so I will be with him through his ups and downs.

Tired Again

Again, another loooong day! I was up at 6, out of the house by 6:30, and I just got home! I have been away from my relaxing house for 16 hours today (well, not including the 45 min of waiting for my hubby at the house)! And I'm pooped!

Today was NOT a good day with the autistic boy. He threw a fit and I ended up with scratch marks, torn skin, and a bite on the arm(that bled). I can usually hold his arms down, but he was he was just too quick for me today. I am already dreading tomorrow since I have him from 7-11. But, it will be my last long shift with him. Next week I start into my 2 hours shifts on Thursday and Friday mornings.

Well, I'm off to bed. I wish I could blog more, but I can barely keep my eyes open. I really hope to have time tomorrow to have a complete update...if anyone cares!

Life is grand with sleep!

Tired

I just got home from another long day. Unfortunately it was soooo long that I am too tired to blog anything of worth tonight.

I hope to have more energy tomorrow...but I have the autistic boy for most of the day. He will take most of my energy and patience. And I hope he behaves himself!

Ah, it feels so good to finally be home! My son and I have been out and about all day. We both got up around 8, got ready, and met my sis at the vet clinic to have Hope checked out. Well, according to the vet, Hope is a boy. I thought so when I looked at the cat's stuff last night, but everyone else thought he was a she.

So, Mr. Hope(no, my sis is NOT changing the name!) got a few shots and got a flea bath. He will need another flea treatment when he is 8 weeks old(in two weeks). And the vet said that Hope looks very healthy. So, all is good in the kitty department!

After the vet, the boy and I went and got some lunch for my mom. She had to work a 12 hour day today, so she had no time to pick up food. We stayed at her shop and kept her company for a little while. Then the two of us went over to my sister's house(right across the street from my mom's hair shop). While at her house, my son finally pooped in the potty...after holding it for 6 days!!! I was a happy mommy!

Then we went over to the mall to walk around. I found some great deals at Penny's. I got a few sweaters that were originally $36-45.00 for only $2.77 a piece! What a deal! I also got a card for my mom's birthday tomorrow.

Then I got the call...my husband's granddad was in the hospital. You can read about all the details here on Lo's blog(please say a prayer for granddad). I dropped the boy off to my sis and headed to a nearby gas station to get food for Lo and grandma who hadn't eaten anything in a while. My hubby and I got to the hospital around 6:45 and stayed till 9....when visiting hours were over. I hope to get back over to the hospital tomorrow to see granddad. Maybe he will look and feel better(Lord willing).

When I left the hospital, I headed over to the grandparents house(after picking up the boy) to pick up grandma's medicine. My husband will be dropping all 9 bottles off to her in the morning.

The boy and I just got home about 45 minutes ago. It feels so good to back at home! We are about to go to bed, so I'm off!

Btw, please remember granddad in your prayers. Thank you everyone!

Found Kitten!

My hubby called me up today saying that another abandoned(and almost run over) kitten was found at his work. He thought that my sister would like it since I was going to get her a kitten for Christmas this year. So anyway, I called up my sis to see if she wanted it, and before I could finish my sentence, she said yes!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I made arrangements for a doctor's appt for the little kitty. She is quite small and is covered with fleas! She was given several baths today, but I hope her doctor's visit helps tomorrow. My sis and I also went out and got all the needed supplies. She did have much money, so I gave her a lot of my extra kitty stuff (litter box, litter, food, etc).

I hope this kitty, now named Hope(don't ask me why!), gets my sister's mind off the guy she is dating. They are going through a rough patch right now and she needs a little distraction. I think Hope is perfect for her. She loves taking care of little ones!

Life is grand with a new little one!

The Autistic Child

As requested by Nic, here is an update about the autistic boy I watch:

He was doing much better last week. His parents were given a piano by a neighbor and now the boy bangs on it when he gets upset. It seems to help! The piano gets his mind off of whatever he is stemming on.

Another thing that has helped has been cutting back on the red dye that he ingests. His teacher at his summer program found out that when he gave the boy fruit punch, that he has off days. So, by not giving the boy red punch or red cereal, he has become a better behaved boy! It's weird! But I guess every little bit helps.

The boy has one more week left in his summer stack program, then he is home all day for three weeks! This will not be good since this will change his routine. He does so well in a schedule and I don't know how he is going to handle being home with one of us three care providers. His mom has put together a daily schedule, but it just not the same as school.

And last week I found out that his parents don't want me watching the boy on Thursday evenings anymore. I haven't since summer started, but I did all last school year. But I'm not working it since his parents want to spend more time with the boy. So, I will only be watching him two mornings out of the week. I was originally going to have my sister take a morning for me(to help with my home schedule and for her income), but the boy's mom wants me to work it. She has a problem with my sister's attitude/behavior in the morning. My sis is def not a morning person, and tends to show it...and I don't know how to tell her. It will just hurt her feelings, but she needs to know. As it is she has to get a new job since her provider hours are going down to zero this school year! Like I said, I was hoping to give her a few hours in the morning, but that's just not going to happen.

Btw, as of right now, there is no plans to send the autistic boy to a special home. He is doing much better at home(with a piano and no red dye) and I hope he stays calm enough to be right where he belongs...with his loving parents!

Life is grand with your prayers!!!

maybe you could explain to your sister that it would be in the boys interest to have only one person looking after him instead of two, less confusing for him with a more set routine. glad to hear he is making some progress.

Trinity, thank you so much for the update. I've had some friends who have been praying for this family after I told them what was going on asking me how things were going for them. Bless you for being so caring and so willing to ask others out there for prayers for them. You're a class act and that family (as well as your own) is blessed to have you in their lives. :)

That situation is so scary to me. I don't know what I'd do if I were there and I were you or even more so if I were that family. It has got to be so tough.

I liked BSTS' idea of how to tell your sister, though the direct truth shouldn't hurt too bad either. You are just the messenger, and you weren't the one with the cranky mornings.

I understand about the piano, but that is crazy about the red dye. I'm not saying I don't believe it or disagree, but that is just amazing. I know there are a lot of people who subscribe to food changing moods or making you sick, maybe I should listen to them a bit more.

I'm glad they are not going to send him away and I prayed this morning for the family, the boy, and all of his caregivers (including, of course, you).

Hopefully life will be grand for them.

An Interview by Robin

1. If you could go anywhere in the world without regard for time or money, where would you go and why? I would start by flying to New York City. After a few days of shopping, sight seeing, and a trip to the theater, I would catch a cruise ship that would sail to PE Island(and Green Gables) and other parts of Canada. I would also love to cruise the Hawaiian islands! Sounds like so much fun!

2. Describe a typical day in your house. I get up either by alarm clock or by my son. I take him immediately to the bathroom to potty. Then I shower, dress, give my son a bath, and start of load of laundry. After that I am either watching a few extra boys or I am sitting down in front of the puter to eat my breakfast(and surf of course!). I run errands if I only have my son for the day and then around 5:30 I start cleaning up the toys that my son and I have played with all day. I get the dishes done at this time along with straightening up the couch pillows and blankets. That way the house is always clean when my hubby gets home(he deserves it after a long day at work!). After cleaning, I start up dinner(or we go out...depends on the night since my hubby and I do different things each night of the week. Sometimes we are together, sometimes not). I love to get back online(after my son goes to bed) in the evening for a few minutes to blog or check my email and read other blogs. I finally crash about 11:30.

3. Are you afraid of anything? If so, what? I am afraid of something(or someone) hurting my son. I can't keep my eyes on him all the time and he needs to not be a baby...but I am still afraid of him getting hurt. I don't know what I'm going to do when he gets old enough to move out of my house and fend for himself!

4. What size shoe do you wear? How do you feel about that? I wear between a 8 1/2 and a 10...depending on the width. I have very wide feet and they are bigger when I weigh more. But, I'm okay with that since I don't wear a size 11 like my sister does.

5. Where is your favorite place to go out to eat? That is a really hard question! I don't really have a favorite. But I do love any place that I can get a good deal or have a coupon for.

Thanks for the great questions Robin! They were grand!!!

Now the rules(stolen from Robin),
1) If you want to be interviewed by me, just say so in my comments.
2)I will respond by asking you five questions ( not the same as above).

Crazy!

While I was out and about today, I saw a crazy man on his motorcycle. Not only did he not have a helmet on, he also didn't have a shirt on!!! I can only imagine what he would look like if he got in an accident! And the other day I saw a girl riding a cycle with flip-flops on!!! Crazy!

I know how important it is for people to be protected while riding a motorcycle. If it wasn't for a helmet, my dad wouldn't be living today. When he was working as a sheriff, he used to lead funeral processions. Well one day he was leading a group of cars on while on the freeway. A semi didn't see him and ran right into my dad! My dad went flying in the air, landed on the ground, and his bike landed on his arm. He was rushed to the hospital where his heart stopped several times. When he finally came to, he had no memory. After several months of hospital stay(while my mom was pregnant no less!), he came home to us two inches shorter(they had to take two vertebrae out of his back), with a cast on his arm(he has a metal bar runing through that arm), and his memory almost back to normal.

So, I know how important it is to wear a helmet(seeing as though my dad would have died without one). I think it should be state law to wear one just as it is law to always where a seat belt while in a car. It makes me sooo mad to see people risking their lives by not using protection.

Okay, rant off! Life is grand with helmets(and shirts)!

6
Anonymous Anonymous said...

helmets are mandatory here (ontario, canada), but i do see people on on bikes in only t-shirts and shorts. i can't understand why anyone would even get on one of those with being fully covered, i don't know if even leather is enough to protect you.

People who don't wear helmets are selfish. Sure, "I look so tough risking my life!", but what about all of the other people who will be without their son, dad, brother, or husband because you have to "look cool". Wear proper protective gear. You wouldn't jump out of a plane without a chute, would you?

Feelin Good!

Ahh, I got to have some girl time with my nieces today! It was wonderful! I can't wait to have little girls of my own! I even have a the wardrobe bought! I tend to buy any kid outfit that I find for less than $2, so I have girls clothes from newborn to size 12. Maybe I tend to go a little overboard, but I can't resist a three piece clearance outfit for $1.50!!! It has to be bought!

Tonight I did something that I haven't done in a while...I walked around the block. It felt so good to be out right after the sun went down. I didn't have to put sun block on and it had gotten cooler. And, walking got my heart beat up! I needed that after having a yummy moolatte today!

I always say this, but I need to get back into a walking habit. I did last summer and I need to do so again this summer. I would love to able to get back in shape again. I have gained some weight since the April and I need to get rid of it asap!

Life is grand with exclamation marks!!!

I know that exercising will help break that, but I just have to break the cycle!

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory

(Actually yesterday's post, but again, was not able to get on yesterday)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Yesterday my husband, brother, and I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I really wasn't looking forward to seeing this movie, but I just had to! You see, my brother and I know every line of the original movie. We used to watch it together all the time. It was something that only we shared. So, when we found out that a new version was coming out, we had to see it(even though it looked like crap)!

We decided to go to the cheapest first run theater in town so that we wouldn't be out much(money) if it was terrible. Since we got there right at the time it was supposed to start, we had to sit in the first row(since the theater was filled with kids)! Then the movie started 20 minutes late! (I guess that's what we get for going to the cheap theater.)

Then it happened...I started liking the movie! There were several laugh out loud parts that I wasn't even expecting. All of the children were excellent, along with their parents. Freddie Highmore did just as good a job playing Charlie Bucket as Peter Ostrum did in the original.

But, there were just a few things I didn't like about the movie. First thing was the Oompa Loompa songs. They were stupid and annoying. There was nothing catchy about them unlike the original Oompa Loompa songs.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
(Scary)

And then there as Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. He was not good at all! He looked funny, and he portrayed Wonka as a scary freak(and I think Depp was too young to play Wonka)! Plus, the movie went into Wonka's past...which the book never mentions. I didn't care to see any of his childhood and it didn't make his character any more likeable by showing him as a kid.

(Lovable)

All in all, I did enjoy this movie. If this had been the first Chocolate Factory movie, I would have no problems with it. But, all I did was compare it to the original. But like I said, it was a good movie. I plan on buying it as soon as it comes out on dvd just to put it next my original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory dvd.

There is something Michael Jacksonish about Depp's character.

I am definitely worried how much Johnny Depp would ruin Willy Wonka. I, too, will constantly compare it to the original, though if where it is different it is more like the book, I can accept that.

I am just not a big Tim Burton fan and not a big Johnny Depp fan, so I am just dreading this movie.

I guess I'll have to take the girls to it and bite the bullet.

Are the girls scared easily? If they are, I would wait a little bit before letting them see it.

Blogger Pete said...

No, they aren't scared easily. I worried about that with SW III and HP II and III, but they just don't care. I ask about it and they tell me that it is not real, so why should they worry?

That isn't to say that they don't get scared, just not by movies.

July 22, 2005 5:27 PM

Blogger Trinity13 said...

Well, I would love to take the girls! I want to see the movie one more time, and they could join me. That way you wouldn't have to. But, up to you. What do ya think?

Harry Potter News

Last night I went out to buy Harry Potter. I decided to buy it at Meijer(where they don't allow pre-ordering) because they had the best deal. I even had a coupon where if I spent $50(in certain departments) between 12:01-3 am, I got $10 off my bill! What a deal! I couldn't pass that up, so off to Meijer I went.

I got there around 11:30 and decided to shop around instead of standing in line. While I was getting some much needed groceries, I heard the HP line count off to 12:01. That's when I checked out the line once again and decided to continue shopping. Around 12:15, I was done filling my small cart and headed over to get the book. The line had shortened quite a bit and I was only in line for about 2-3 minutes! Plus, there were only 4-5 people behind me, so Meijer was the place to be to get the book(at the best price in town-I do my research)!!!

Happy belated birthday Guru! I hope you enjoy the book(he got it dropped off to him at 12:30am)!!!

Bad Morning

This morning(as I do every Friday morning) I was supposed to watch the autistic boy from 7-11. His mom leaves as soon as I get there and his dad works half days on Fridays and then relieves me.

Well, I knew today wasn't going to be a good day as soon as I got the their house. Before I could even shut the front door, the autistic boy comes up behind me and smacks me on the back. I guess he was upset with his mom and took a little of it out on me. Recently the the boy tends to stem on the tv. He loves looking at the blue screen for the pay-per-channels and gets hooked on it. Well that morning his mom put in a movie to keep her son from stemming off the blue screen...and he didn't like it!

The boy ended up throwing a HUGE fit! He was being violent towards himself and his mom. He gave himself a large red mark from pinching himself and then he bit his mom...and good too! I could tell that he bit her really hard. She tried to calm him down and eventually she had to hold him down to keep him and her from further injury.

After 30 minutes of the boy fighting with us, his mom called up the dad. She told him that if this were to continue, the boy would need to find another home...a place where they would be able to deal with his tantrums. She also ended up breaking down and crying. I haven't ever seen her get so upset.

Well, she ended up staying home with him and his dad came home right after he was called. I hope they were able to calm him down after I left.

This is getting really serious here. Most Fridays I came home with a new battle scar, pee on me, or messed up glasses(from him hitting me in the face). I can handle this once a week, but his parents have to deal with this daily. I don't know how much longer the boy will be able to stay in the home with them. And the last thing the parents want to do is have to send the boy away. They both love him very much, but they are near their breaking point.

Please say a prayer for the family that God will tell them what to do next. They really need His guidance right now. Thanks everyone.

i think when parents are faced with a situation such as this, they need to get advice from their family doctor for starters. i'm not sure where you actually live, but there should be support groups out there available to offer support and relief to this family. you could even google for some ideas about what to do and where to go for help. i will say a prayer for this family.

Thank you for your prayers. They are much appreciated!

We live in Columbus, Ohio BSTS. And his parents know of others with autistic boys. But, their child is pretty extreme, so there are no others they can relate to. Plus, each autistic child is different. This particular boy I watch not only has autisim, but he has ADD along with seeing problems.

And, I along with two others are the relief for this family. We do what we can, but sometimes even that is not enough.

I just know that sending their child out of the home is their last option. And I wish it didn't have to come to that. But, God will let his parents know what to do. Every child is precious in His sight.

July 15, 2005 11:30 PM

Blogger Nic said...

How heartbreaking that must be. One of my best friends has an autistic son and she is a nurse and a single mom with two kids. I don't know how she does it. However, she is trying something new with his diet. Taking out all gluten and heavy metals in his diet that are found in common foods. This seems to be helping him out quite a bit. I will say a prayer for this dear child and his parents that they be given the strength to endure and the comfort to know that they are doing the right thing. God surely has a special place in His heart for special needs children and the families that take care of them on a daily basis.

Seen you on Capt. Picard's blog several times but this is the first visit I've made here. Really like your blog!

What To Blog...What To Blog

I have nothing of interest to blog about! I am just so boring! Or maybe I am just tired. I don't know. It really hasn't been a long day, but yet I am ready for it to end.

I had the red head and the one year old today along with my son. They all played really well together and we all had a good time. After they were picked up, my son and I ran a few errands. We headed over to Aldi(a store with no name brands and not a large selection) for a few cheap groceries. Most of the time I can walk out with an overloaded cart full of groceries(that will last for a month) for only $50! Today our trip to the store made me laugh. Parked outside right in front of the store(where you weren't supposed to park in the first place) was a new 2006 SUV. Okay now, if a person can afford this car, they shouldn't be shopping at Aldi!!!

Or maybe the vehicle owners are so broke after getting an SUV that they now have to shop at Aldi. Hmmm.

Btw, the other night my sister got her first ever hickey!!! She got it from her guy friend that my hubby and I hooked her up with. (We are still not sure if they are boyfriend/girlfriend yet!) It looks like it's getting pretty serious between them. I mean, she is only up till 3am ever night talking to him! Crazy love-sick girl!

Life is grand when it's time for bed!!!

Hey Trinity, came over from the Captains site.

I absolutely love Aldi's. I get all my mainstays from there. The frozen chic breast are at least $3 cheaper than the reg grocery store. In the last year, they have been coming out with some gourmet type items to cook with. Why spend $100 when you can get it for $50. That's my motto.

Anyway, seeing a Lexus is no surprise, it's just like seeing them at the off price clothing stores like Gabs or TJ max.

Didn't mean to run on like that...LOL

My Cousin

I just found out recently that my cousin and his wife are expecting their first child. It was also not a planned pregnancy(and they didn't even want kids for another 5-6 years). My cousin's wife was on birth control, but had to go off of it for a few months so that her doctor could get her on the right migraine meds. So, here they are pregnant with a child they weren't ready for...and here am I ready for a child, but it's not happening. Maybe I should just stop planning since it hasn't worked so far.

Ahhh, such is life.

Time Line

I stole this from someone, who stole it from someone else. But, I changed it up into a new and somewhat improved Trinity version! Enjoy!!!

10 years ago... I was on a missions trip in Spain.

5 years ago... my hubby and I started trying for our now three year old son.

1 year ago... my marriage was a mess.

Yesterday... I watched my son and the red head and his brother. I also mowed the grass and stayed up last watching The Surreal Life.

Today... I am relaxing with my son(I'm still in my jammies!). Later we will go grocery shopping.

Tomorrow... evening my hubby and I will go out together(with no little boy with us).

1 year from now... I hope to either be pregnant or have another little one.

5 years from now.... I would love to be in a larger home and be able to afford it!

10 years from now... I want to be able to look back on my life and my happy with my decisions from the past 10 years.

And We're Back!

The wedding was wonderful...short, but wonderful. It lasted only 25 minutes! I couldn't believe how fast it went! But, they are now married and that's all that matters.

After the wedding(that we went to in Cincinnati), we headed over to the hotel where my hubby and I were staying for the night. It was also the location the reception. Since the bride's father works for the hotel, he def took care of us. We had some great food(at the reception) along with a fabulous room. It had a sitting area separate from the bedroom. It had a microwave, fridge, desk, chairs, and a fold-out couch. And both rooms had it's own tv! So, my hubby and I had HBO on one tv and Starz on the other. We were def not used to such a nice room. And we were only able to afford it because of the father of the bride. Thanks dad!

Instead of swimming after the reception, we decided to catch a movie. The movie theater we went to was the largest one I have ever been to! It was beautiful and it had several different non-movie types of food...like pizza and ice cream cones. The theater also had a bar and a restaurant that had a grand piano in front of it. Nice!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

My hubby and I decided to see Fantastic 4. It was an awesome movie! It was nice that I didn't know much about the actual story of the F4, so I wasn't comparing the movie to the comic books the whole time. The movie had tons of great action, but the ending needed just a bit more. It almost seemed anticlimactic. I don't know. But I still love this movie!

Today, instead of rushing home, my hubby and I went over to the Cincinnati Mills Mall. Good grief, it was huge! It had not only a first run movie theater in it, but a second run! The mall also had a roller coaster for kids along with a grocery store!!! I have never spent so much time in a mall before...with my hubby!

Well, we are back at home now...and it feels great. As much as I like getting away, I love just being at home. It's my comfort zone. And I guess life is just grand that way!

Reading

I can get too involved in a book I am reading. For instance, yesterday I was right in the middle of a great book, The Rising(part of the Left Behind series). When I had to leave the house to head over to my mom's, the book came with me. I read the entire way to her house! I even got excited when I got red lights because that meant I could read for a longer amount of time!

I know the other drivers around me must have thought I was crazy, but I didn't care! I just could not put this book down! I ended up finishing it last night, and even tearing up in the last few pages. What a read!

Has anyone else out there in blogworld read any part of the Left Behind series?

Btw, thanks for stopping by Beth and Bekkah. I don't think I've seen you here before. And welcome WFI. All three of you need to read the most recent LB book if you can! It was wonderful!

Busy Again

Sorry about the lack of a post yesterday...I'm just so busy right now.

I had the red-head(rh) over yesterday. His mom has decided to go back to work after her maternity leave is up. So, I will be watching the rh along with his 8 week old baby brother(also a rh) starting in August. But anyway, I watched the rh along with my son yesterday. They are so much fun to watch, but not fun to clean up after. I spent a good part of the afternoon helping my son clean his room. Since it hadn't been cleaned for a week, it was a disaster area!!! I would love to get rid of some things in there, but he plays with it all! And since he has room for it all, it will all stay...for now!

Last night my hubby and I helped my sister move from one townhouse to another closer to us .My mom and dad had started helping her around 10, and I was able to join them around 5. My hubby came along to help right after work. He and my dad moved washers and dryers around along with a couch. They also disassembled and reassembled my sister's queen size water bed. But, she is all moved in now. And her old place is spotless-she(as in my mom) had to clean it to get her security deposit back. What a crock!

My parents have decided that because of my sister's move, that they are in no rush to move themselves. So it looks like my hubby and I don't have to think about whether or not we want their house...they have decided for us by wanting to stay right where they are.

Life is grand with a sister close by!!!

We moved from a town where all 4 of my hubby's brothers families lived as well as his parents. To Santa Fe 4 hours away. I miss them all soo much. You are a lucky lady!

Yup, I agree OGO. I am a lucky lady to have most of my family in town.

Are you and Bev ever going to hook up Capt?

PJ, my sis moved about 2 years ago from out of mom and dad's house into a nice townhouse she could afford. But this recent move was to be closer to everyone(and she got it for the same price she was already paying on her first townhouse).

Food, Fun, Fireworks(FFF)

Our trip to FFF last night was so much fun! My hubby, son, and I got to the church early to set up our blankets in a perfect spot. My sis and her guy then joined us for a walk down the church's midway. My son and I ended up climbing into an air filled obstacle course! It was a lot of fun and I'm glad I don't weigh any more than I do!

After playing around and watching the ponies(for the kids to ride), the five of us decided to get something to eat. The food was a little(but not much) more than I thought it would be, but we brought along chips and snacks so everyone got full!

A few card games were played as we ate our food and listened to the live band in the background. Then my son and I decided it was time for a stretch and a potty break. After potty time, we spotted a few cool games. He won some prizes and then we played on the church's playground for a little while. Then we found the face painting booth. My son sat down and let the worker paint his face as he watched in the available mirror. He did such a good job of not touching his cheek as the paint dried!

After my son and I got back to the blankets, my sis and I worked on giving out glow-in-the-dark bracelets to all the nearby kids(aren't we so sweet!). This went on till the fireworks started.

Watching the fireworks reminded me of last year's fireworks at a different city. Both this year and last, my hubby and I made a blanket bed, behind a church, and sat on it(with the family) while we watched all the fireworks that cleared the trees at the end of the property.

We had such a wonderful time! It looks like this will be our new family firework tradition.

Life is grand with food, fun, and fireworks!!!

Firework Time!

We all had a pretty good time last night setting off firecrackers. And I now have a little burn mark on my leg from a sparkler my son was holding. My hubby was supposed to be helping the boy, but instead I felt the heat of a thrown sparkler. Such fun!!!

Today we are off to FFF-food, fun, fireworks at my parent's church. The church has blow-up rides for the kids as well as carnival games and cheap food(hotdogs for a quarter). We are getting over there early to get a good spot and to get in before all the crowds. And my sis's guy friend should be meeting us there as well.

My hubby and I are taking a ton of blankets and a few bean bags to lay on to watch the fireworks. We usually make a bed(with the blankets) out of my hubby's truck bed, but not this year. To include more people, we are setting it out on the ground. It should be a great time!

Life is grand with food, fun, and fireworks!!!

Happy B-day!!!

Today is my favorite brothers birthday!!! He has turned 19 years young! To celebrate, the family got together at Spaghetti Warehouse. And my sis invited her guy friend(the one who my hubby and I hooked up together)(and I call him a guy friend since my sis doesn't know what to call them yet!). My brother got some wonderful gifts and then we all went back to mom and dad's house...except my sis and her guy. They went back to his house to met his parents!!! I can't wait to hear how that went!

So anyway, I wish this post could be longer, but we are about to have some pizza. And as soon as it gets dark, it's firecracker time with the my bro, hubby, and dad. It should be a BLAST!!!

This And That

My sis and her guy friend(who my hubby and I hooked her up with) are having a lot of fun together! They talk to each other every day(sometimes till 2am!) and love spending time with each other. This weekend, her guy will meet our parents for the first time. He has spoken to my mom on the phone, but will actually get to see her this Sunday when he will join us for lunch. It should be a great time!

My hubby and I saw Bewitched this last week(well, he saw half of the movie, half of the back of his eyelids). I wanted to see War of the Worlds(I'm not sure if I want to see it now that Cruise is going crazy!), but my hubby would rather see a comedy than an action flick. I find this rather funny...since he's a MAN! He doesn't even like a lot of action movies! I happen to love them!!! We are so backwards!

I am feeling rather sexy today. I just got my roots done yesterday, so my hair has a fresh coat of red on it. Whenever I get my hair done, I always feel so good about myself! The feeling doesn't last long since my hair grows so fast. And, it's almost time for a donation cut.

My parents sat down with my hubby and I this past week to talk about them moving. Since they only have my bro still living with them(and he will be moving out soon), they feel like their house is too big for them now. They will soon be moving into a smaller ranch to save money. So, they have asked us if we would like to buy their current house from them. My hubby and I were not planning on moving for another 2-3 years, so we are putting some major thought into this decision. I will post again(with more details) about this situation and how the Lord is leading us.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Just remember that life is grand!!!

My Piggy!

Another post idea, this time from Robin! Thanks honey!!!

Here is my piggy:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

And my results based on how I drew my piggy:

Toward the middle, you are a realist.

Facing front, you are direct, enjoy playing devil's advocate and neither fear nor avoid discussions.

With few details, you are emotional and naive, they care little for details and are a risk-taker.

With 4 legs showing, they are secure, stubborn, and stick to their ideals.

The size of the ears indicates how good a listener you are.
The bigger the better. You drew medium sized ears, you are a good listener.

The length of the tail indicates the quality of your sex life.
And again more is better! You drew medium sized tail.

My own piggy page is here!

And here is where you can draw your own!
