Tired

I've been pretty tired lately. I would love to go to bed early, but I just can't help staying up late to watch tv or to blog. Most of the time I go to bed around 12:30-1am and then I'm up again around 6-6:30. I just can't keep doing that anymore.

So, I'm now going to try going to bed around 10 (and when I say 10, I mean be in the bed by 10 to watch tv for an hour, then go to sleep). That means that my son's bedtime will be moved up to 9:45-10. He was going down about 10:30 (he's a night owl like his mommy) and getting up at 8:30, but I think he can def go to bed sooner.

I hope this will allow me to get some extra sleep. Knowing me, I'll be tossing and turning all night because I went bed so early. We shall see!

Life is grand with sleep!!!

I don't want to dampen your spirits, but I tell myself all the time.

I think it is something about having that alone time after the kids are in bed. Like sitting down to have a cup of coffee with your friends.

In the winter months, we have an eight o'clock bedtime. We are working backwards to get that time slot going. (At 8:30 now) It seems if the boys go to bed earlier, I usually lay down around 10:30. Makes my mind think I get all this "free" computer time. lol!

Good Luck!!!

Yeah, I like my alone time. So maybe you're right DW...I stay up late for my alone time and not just because of a tv show.

I have the same trouble. My husband is a night owl and so I stay up to visit with him while the kids are asleep. Then I kick myself when my alarm goes off the next morning!

Good Grief!

My mom just called and told me that the gas near where she lives (about 10 min away from me) is at $3.09 a gallon!!! That's crazy! I thought that the $2.54 that I paid last week was waaaaay to much. I hope the prices will level off soon!

Ahhh, life is so grand!

Blogger Pete said...

It might level off as the summer season ends, but the rise in price right now is because of the damage in Louisiana and Mississippi. I think the US's only oil refinery is down there, so supply and demand is kicking our butt right now.

Here in Nova Scotia, Canada our price per litre is at the equivalent of $5.00 per gallon...prices are reported to go up again today ($1.30 - $1.50 per litre = almost $6 per gallon...)Yowzers!! At least we're not experiencing the floods that the southern US is experiencing...watched it on CNN last night...just dreadful. Cheers!

I Got Nothing...

so it's quiz time (and I have probably done this quiz before, but does it look like I care...heehee)!!! And this favor really seems to fit me!

You Are Strawberry Ice Cream
A bit shy and sensitive, you are sweet to the core.
You often find yourself on the outside looking in.
Insightful and pensive, you really understand how the world works.
You are most compatible with chocolate chip ice cream.

Btw, thanks Jootastic! She posted about coffee yogurt and it looks and sounds really good!!! I'm def going to try it soon!

It's Raining...Sales!

Since it was raining this morning, our street didn't get sealed. I'm not sure when it will get done since it's supposed to rain all week. So, who knows when I'll have to make my moms walk the two blocks to my house.

On a side note, my hubby and I have been getting some great deals lately. We were at the mall yesterday and we noticed that there was a new OSU store! They had some great stuff! The store had a buy one get two free sale going on with their shirts...so we bought a shirt and my hubby and boy both got a shirt for free! I just love free stuff!!! Free, free, free, free, free!

Then we went over to Sears where their toys were all 25% off! I was in sale heaven! I even found a leap pad book and cartridge for $3.99 (plus 25% off)...now that's a great deal (since they're usually $12.99-14.99)! I've now have half of the boys C-mas taken care of along with a few others toys for some up and coming birthdays.

Tonight my son and I went over to Target. We found some dress shorts for my hubby that were a little over $3 a pair! The store also had a ton of clearance merchandise. I always seem to find the cheap stuff when I'm not looking for it...I love it!

Life is grand with sales!!!

Closed

From 8-6 tomorrow my street will be closed to be re-sealed. This is going to make it hard on my mom's (of the kids I watch) in the afternoon. They won't be able to drive down my street to pick up their kids at 4:15 (for the one year old) and at 5:30 (for the red head's). Either they will have to park and walk the two blocks to my street or I will have to walk it (I'd put the 3 oldest boys in the wagon and the baby in a snugli-which I would have to find)...and that doesn't sound very fun to me. I just don't want to have to take 4 boys under 4 down even one block. What a pain...but I don't want my mother's having to walk it either. Maybe I'm just too nice. Maybe they should walk it. I mean it's only for one day! But still, I would feel bad making them walk two blocks to pick up their kids.

Ahhh, what to do, what to do.

5
Blogger Pete said...

They can walk.

It is only for one day and there is no reason that they can't park and walk. If I need to go to the store and they are re-sealing sections of their parking lot, I have to park far and walk.

The parallel that I am going for is that both you and the store have services that the customer is paying for. Yet in every other industry, a small temporary hardship is always placed on the consumer.

It makes much more logical sense to have each person bring one or two kids to you instead of you lugging 4 somewhere.

Good Day

I had a pretty good day today. My son and I hung out here at the house while my hubby helped Jemmers and her hubby for a few hours. The boy and I had so much fun together. We read a bagillion books and watched a movie before heading out to do a few errands. When we got back, he and I picked up the house since Jemmers and her hubby were coming over for dinner! The boy even helped me cut (and eat!) some watermelon and strawberries...hmmmm!

The five of us had a great time tonight (in my opinion)! We watched The Wedding Date which has one of the all time greatest lines in it-"I think I'd miss you even if we'd never met." Ahhh, I love it! Makes me want to cry!

Speaking of crying, I saw this pic on Cotillion and I had to share...it seriously brought tears to my eyes.

Autistic Boy Update

The autistic boy has been doing much this past week. I watched him both today and yesterday morning and he seems to like going back to school. Of course it's always good when he is on a schedule.

I gotta tell ya though, it was looking pretty bad last week! His mom was at her wits end. She was threatening to leave and she even had an apartment picked out. Her hubby just doesn't get it. We both think that he is in denial concerning his son's disability.

I really hope everything will be better for the couple now that the boy has gone back to school. They really need some time to themselves. It would be the best for their marriage.

Please remember to keep this family in your prayers. Thanks!

Exciting News

My hubby just called me letting me know that he is getting transferred! Finally!!!! You see my husband does apartment maintenance for a living and he has been working in a crappy complex for far too long. He has worked the over 200 units by himself since he was the only person able to handle it all. He has been unhappy, but he suffered through it.

Well, good things happen to those who wait! He will be working a new complex starting this Monday!!! It's a newer place with 3 other guys to help out. And this place is less than 10 min away from our house! That means he will be spending less in gas and will even be able to come home for lunch! I'm so excited for him!!! Prayers have been answered!

Could life BE any more grand!!!

A Dilemma

Okay, I feel the need to explain myself. I left a comment on someone's blog and they got upset. Then they left a comment on my blog and I feel like I should respond back...but will that make it worse? I'm just not sure what to do right now. I'm sorry for hurting the person's feelings, but I was concerned so I left a comment.

What would you do?

Otherwise, probably best to just let it go.

Boys, Boys

I started back up the the one year old today. His mom is a teacher and she school starts this Wednesday... but she has two teacher in-service days today and tomorrow. So, I have him, the two year old red head, his 3 month old brother, and my three year old son. All boys!!! I think I am destined for it. At least they all play with the same toys. I don't have to go out and get things for girls to play with.

Here's the problem...3 out of 4 of them are first borns. That means they love having their own way and are very, very stubborn. Luckily I know how to handle them since I am also a first born...but I am in NOOOO way stubborn. Just ask my hubby...heehee!!!

Btw, I can smell baby puke...I think it's on me...I don't know where...it's starting to freak me out.

Ahhhh!

Our internet connection was messing up yesterday, so no post. I tried several times to get online with no success. Ah, such is life.

So anyway, my mom and I were very busy yesterday. We hosted my great aunt and uncle's 50th anniversary party. It was a lot of work! We have spent the last couple of days cleaning, buying and ordering supplies, and working on favors.

We decided to do an ornament favor since my aunt and uncle are really into Christmas. Every year we get at least one ornament from them. So, we thought it would be the perfect favor for everyone. My mom bought glass ornaments and I stuffed them with gold tinsel. Then my hubby and I printed out small pics of my aunt and uncle from 1955 and from today onto vellum. I made the pics into stickers (using my scrapbook sticker maker) and placed them on the ornament. I gave them a nice green border using green glitter glue. Then I made some more stickers out of little Jolee embellishments like candy canes, holly, red flowers, and stars. I think they turned out pretty good. And I only stayed up till 4am to finish half of them on Friday night (would have finished it sooner, but the printer wasn't working right).

I got up early Saturday to get my hair done and to fix my mom's hair as well (I'm my mom's beautician half the time). Then I went back home to finish the ornaments and to make 4 dozen muffins for the party. After that, my hubby, son, and I left the house to pick up the cake and a few last minute food items.

We got to my parents house around 2:30. Mom and I put the three-tiered wedding cake together and got the house ready for the party. By 4:45 the house was full of people. My mom and I served the food, cut the cake, the handed out the favors. Then it was gift time. My aunt opened most of the gifts and she actually cried when she opened ours (I have NEVER seen her cry before)! We got her and my uncle a two night stay at a beautiful inn in Amish country. She loved it!

I think the party went off without a hitch. Everyone (including my sis) left by 9 and that's when mom and I started the clean up process. My family left the house around 10:30 when mom and I finished. Now I just have to clean up the party preparations in my own home!

Life is grand with a celebration of 50 years of marriage!

I will have to keep that in mind for Christmas gifts. Both sides exchange gifts every year. OMG! It can get quite costly. So, a few years ago I started making gifts for everyone. Except for the kids. I get them all books. Everyone seems to enjoy the little handmade gifts than what I used to buy.

Oh yes, I def know what you mean about a costly Christmas. To cut down on some of the cost, my hubby and I (and the boy) usually get our pic taken, frame it, and then give it out as a gift.

And I love the idea of giving books to the kids. It's a lot better than giving them toys they don't need.

Another Quiz!

Results of "The Test"
How nosy are you?

Your score = 20

What does your score mean?
You haven't got a curious bone in your body... at least not about other people's affairs. Perhaps you simply think it's none of your business and respect their privacy, or you just have better things to think about. Whatever the case, you show a high level of respect by not sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. The people in your life surely feel they can trust you, and you probably expect the same in return. Way to go!

Take the nosy test here!!!

Not a surprise. I am one nosy mofo.

My score is 70

While you've definitely got an inquisitive nature, you keep it in check and avoid prying into other people's business. Sometimes you go out of your way to get the scoop, for particularly juicy tidbits, but other times you respect their need for privacy. Curiosity is a natural emotion, and even valuable for creativity and work, but you seem to be aware of the fact that there can be too much of a good thing. Be careful that your snoopy inclination doesn't get you into trouble - most people don't appreciate being monitored. Show the same level of respect for others that you expect in return and you should be heading in the right direction.

It's A Bird! It's A Plane! No, it's Pigs Flying!

My hubby actually took himself to the hospital today! I couldn't believe it when he told me! You see, his toe has been bothering him for over a week now. He can't walk on it without pain and he thought that it was infected. Well today he was in so much pain that he went to the hospital on the way to work!!! This man hates doctors! He does everything possible to NOT have to visit the doctor's office. He must have really been in some serious pain.

I think I'm in shock.

Just for the record, not all men are afraid of the doctor. Some of us can go when there is a problem without issue.

But, having said that, I'm glad he went and had that looked at. It would suck if he ended up leaving it and losing a toe or something ;-)

Quiz Of The Day

Results of "The Test"
How money hungry are you?

Your score = 30

What does your score mean?
Congratulations, you have personal integrity. Your answers revealed that you would not go all out to get your hands on ten million bucks. There may be one or two things that you would consider, but overall you're not willing to commit acts that are outright repulsive or might hurt anyone just to hit the jackpot. You likely realize that money does not equal happiness, and don't want to throw all your self-respect out the window for a windfall. You are not easily bought!

Take the money hungry test here!

Blogger Pete said...

I'm over twice as money hungry as you are. My results:

65
What does your score mean?

There are a lot of horrid things you would do for the big Kahuna, but you do have your limits. Perhaps some things on the test are just too disgusting to imagine, or you don't want to actually harm anyone else in your quest for the big bucks. Whatever the case, this likely means that you appreciate money as much as the next guy, but don't make it the focus of your existence. While you would do certain things to become stinking rich, you also realize that it wouldn't buy happiness.

Purchased!!!

I am so excited! I get to watch my new copy of Sin City this week!!! I bought just a few hours ago with my Walmart gift card (that G and I got for our anniversary). I love this movie! It's def not a movie for everybody...but I love how it's in black and white with the splashes of color in it.

What's cool about the release of this movie is that you can pick out what dvd cover you want. There are four covers to choose from and here is the one I got.

Back To Normal

Today my hubby had to go back after his long week off. So, that meant that I could get back on my normal schedule with the boys. My son and the older red head were at each others throats today. They would not stop bickering, so they spent quite a bit of time in time-out. You can def tell that they are both first borns...both instigators.

The baby red head was very cranky today as well. I'm not sure what his problems was. It could have been me though. I'm a little tired today and I'm not in the best of moods. I think I need a vacation from my vacation. Ever feel like that?

FYI, my son is now pooping in the potty regularly!!! (I know, gross...but I'm very proud of him. Just skip this paragraph if you need to!) We used to have to fight with him to poop. We would sit him down and he would maybe poop after 45 min...and that's if he hadn't already pooped his pants. Well, one day I got tired of fighting with him and I tired to make it fun for him. I told him that his poop loves to go swimming and that he was the only one to help them. Since he loves to swim, he got very excited that he got to help his poop swim as well. So now it only takes 2 sec from him to sit down and do his business!!! I am sooo proud of him pooping and peeping (his word, not mine) on his own!

Life is grand!

Blogger Unknown said...

Oh how wonderful he is "going" in the potty! Such a milestone (and nice not to buy diapers anymore!).

You know, my boys were not their greatest today. We had a lot of bickering and crying today. They lost their tv for the day at 10am this morning. (I prefer the day without tv anyways.) They all kept up right until bedtime. Even the baby was fussy.

Must be in the air?

August 16, 2005 12:27 AM

Blogger Pete said...

That was a good idea about the poop.

It reminds me of an expression for "going" that I heard only a couple of years ago... "Taking the kids to the pool".

That cracks me up every time I think about it.

Home Again

After a few relaxing days, my hubby and I are finally home! We did however have a wonderful time in the great outdoors. While in Hocking Hills, the hubby and I visited Ash Cave, Old Man's Cave, and Conkle's Hollow. We absolutely loved Ash Cave! It was so beautiful and we could tell that we just missed a wedding. There were rose petals on the ground right under the gorgeous cave opening.

Old Man's Cave was okay. My hubby and I really wore ourselves out hiking to it's lower falls. The falls were nice, but then we had to hike back up the hills...not fun! But, we got ice cream afterwards, so it's all good!

Conkle's Hollow was def my favorite. It had a nice walking path that lead us to a beautiful cave along with a small waterfall. We got a few pics at this place and I hope to have a few posted tomorrow.

While in Hocking Hills, we stayed at Getaway Cabins. This place have over 20 cabins to choose from, each with it's own hot tub. We loved the seclusion of the cabin we stayed in. It was really in the middle of nowhere.

I would love to go back again some year...and take my son. He would love all the climbing! Maybe next year he would be old enough. I know he would just love it as much as my hubby and I did!

Life is grand!!!

One Last Trip

My hubby's vacation is almost over. But, him and I are leaving tonight for Hocking Hills (after dropping off the boy to grammie's). We are staying in a beautiful cabin in the woods till Sunday! This cabin has it's own large kitchen, fireplace, grill, and hot tub! I am sooo looking forward to getting all pruny from tubbin!

Since we are staying in Hocking Hills, we are able to go fishing, canoeing, or horseback riding. I think we are def going to Old Man's Cave.

This will be our last getaway for this year. And it's kind of our anniversary present to each other. So, I hope it goes well!

Family Day At Cedar Point

Every year my hubby's company sends their employees and their families to an amusement park here in Ohio. They pay for the tickets and even the parking (which would have been $9!). This year Cedar Point in Sandusky, Oh was chosen. So, yesterday the four of us (me, G, the boy, and the red head) spend the entire day riding kiddie rides! We had so much fun! It was great to just walk around and not have to worry about lines.

G's company also gave us $10 in Cedar dollars and a few lunch passes, so we spent very little pocket money! We spent some of that pocket money on a huge elephant ear. It was soooo good and it took up two plates! Yum, yum!!!

I'm glad we didn't try to ride any of the coaster yesterday. It rained off and on so many of the big rides would shut down for an hour at a time. We just used that time to shop or see a show.

Life is grand with a free trip to an amusement park!!!

I'm glad that you had a good time. It is too bad that it was rainy, because - being the big coaster fan that you are - I'm sure you would have liked to quickly jump on a coaster or two since you were up there. I hope that we have good weather when my company has their Cedar Point Day.

I would have ridden the Raptor (since it's my fav at CP), but the lines were too long. And I don't think of myself as a big coaster fan since I HATE the drops. That's why I won't even consider riding half of the new coasters at CP.

A Wedding Picture

I hope you don't mind Guru (the best man, to the left of my hubby G) and Lo (the beautiful bridesmaid on the far right), but I just had to post a picture from my wedding. My sister is right beside me and my brother is in front of Guru. The rest of the party were either cousins of mine or good friends from church.

All of the dresses, including mine, were made by my very talented aunt. She even made my mom's dress.

G and I got married in the church where we met (and it's the same place where G asked me to go out with him on a date for the first time). It was soooo beautiful for our special day!

Life is grand with a great looking wedding party!

A Few Pics!

Here are a few of the pictures from my family's mini vacation:

This is the front of the hotel. As you can see, the tubes come right out of the building! So cool!!!

Here is a pic of the what some of the inside looks like.

This is my hubby and my son outside having fun!

Here is a pic of half of the tubes that you can ride.

This is one of the play areas for "kids". But, my hubby and I had just as fun as the boy did.

And finally, here is a pic of my son and I in a hot tub (one of three tubs and this one was not too hot for the boy). He had so much fun splashing around in those waterfalls!

I had a pic of our room, but I decided that it wouldn't be the best to show you all what I wear to bed.

Btw, I got a little upset at a pregnant lady I saw at the water park. She had to be at least 8 months pregnant and she had with her a 6 month old little girl. Well, they both were in the very hot tub (almost too hot for me)!!! Then the lady stands up and reads the warning sign by the side of the tub that says that women who are pregnant should not be in the hot tub. Then she says oops, I guess I'm not really supposed to be in here...then she sits down again!!! I was speechless! She made me so mad that I ended up leaving the hot tub.

Besides that, we all had a wonderful weekend!

Spur Of The Moment

At the last minute, my hubby and I decided to get away for two days (so sorry for not posting). We were up till 2 am on Thursday night planning and scheduling a short trip for our family of three. Since both myself and my hubby were off on Friday, we thought a little vacation would be in order...and it's the only family getaway we are having this year.

We thought about going to a water park like Wyandot Lake for the day, but I didn't feel like walking around in the hot sun all day with a three year old. So, my hubby and I looked into indoor water parks. We decided on the beautiful Kalahari Resort!

We had such a great time!!! It was sooo nice to not have to worry about sun screen, tube rental, or long lines! This particular hotel has the largest indoor water park in Ohio. I couldn't believe how big the place was! It even had a few water tubes that went from the inside to the outside of the resort, and back in again.

I really wish I could have ridden the zip coaster. Not only does the ride propel you, but it goes uphill!!! It looked like so much fun, but you needed two people to ride it. Since someone had to watch the boy, I wasn't able to experience this water coaster. But I did get to go on the rest of the rides (except the family tube ride since our son wasn't tall enough).

The resort also had an outdoor heated pool along with a water play area. We stayed outside for about 30 min and then decided to get out of the hot sun. My son then played in the kiddie area that had a slide for his size. He had such a good time in that area...and an even better time in the Wild Kingdom.

I def think that we will go again next year. And I would love to go every year after that!!! I would recommend an indoor water park to everyone!

Btw, I will be posting some of our pics later today if I get a chance! Until then, just remember that life is grand!!!

i've never heard of an indoor water park, what a good idea though. i love these spur of the moment get-a-ways, i've got too many kids doing too many things right now that it's almost impossible to get away even for a few hours. nice to read about someone who can!

I havent heard of indoor water park either!! We need those in TExas! That is awesome, it is very important to get that extra R and R sometimes just with your own family. My hubby and I had an alone day yesterday, laying around and watching movies, and it was much appreciated!!

He's Okay...

We think!!! He was not listed in the 9 men (who died) from Lima company. Thank the Lord!!! And thank you for all your prayers for Andy.

But, please don't stop praying. There are 9 families who are mourning tonight. Please remember them in your prayers.

The flipped vehicle...brings tears to my eyes.

No News Yet

We have yet to hear if Andy is okay. I keep watching the news and checking websites to see if the names have been released yet. So far, nothing.

His dad was on the news last night. What he said brought a tears to my eyes. They even showed a poster, with Andy on it, that his dad(Jim) has in his yard. Here is part of what Jim had to say:

"I check the news (Web) sites constantly, all day long," said Jim Rice, who had not received any news about his son, Lance Cpl. Andrew Rice, as of Wednesday night. "I'm pretty down for the day -- not functional. I got a lot of calls in support, because everyone knew this was bad."

Jim Rice, a former Marine, set up a tribute when his son was deployed in the winter. He said the longer he waits for word from the military, the better chance his son survived.

"You just pray it's not your (child)," Jim Rice said. "Then you feel guilty if you think it's not because it's somebody's son."

Please continue to keep this family, along with all military families, in your prayers. We hope to hear soon if Andy is okay.

I was watching the national news last night and they were talking to some parents of men that would have been there. The parents hadn't heard any news yet.

I just stood there and cried. I was talking to the tv as if the mother could hear me. I apologized and thanked her. It sounds stupid I know. I don't even know why I told you this.

I'm still prayin.

I saw the newscast, it was very sad.

We went to church last night (Jim wasn't there, he was at the reserve center), but Andy's Grandma and Grandpa were there and almost everyone there has known Andy for as a long time.

It was very sad, but it is looking like he is all right, but I am reserving my relief until the entire name list is released, or his parents hear from him.

Please Pray!

One Of Deadliest Attacks In Iraq War Kills 14 Marines

My friend Andy is over in that battalion and he and his family need your prayers. Right now I don't know if he is one of the 14 who were killed. His parents are freaking out right now. So please pray for them...they really don't want a knock on their door (if you know what I mean).

Thanks!

Granddad

My granddad (in-law) finally got released from the hospital yesterday afternoon. He and grandma got a bite to eat and headed home. As grandma was getting ready for bed, granddad complained of chest pains. She ended up calling an ambulance to take him to the hospital once again!

Good grief!!! Why was he discharged so soon!

Granddad's doctors have decided to def give him a defibrillator. They were talking about it before he was released, and now that he is back in, he will get one. He will prob get it implanted tomorrow sometime. I really hope everything goes well and that grandma will have enough energy to get through one more hospital stay.

It Starts

Tomorrow I start back up with the red head. If you all remember, I had him for 8-10 hours a day for 4-5 days a week. I haven't had him much this summer since his mom had another little one. She took an 8 eight week maternity leave, but she goes back to work starting tomorrow. She would love to stay home with the boys, but her and her hubby just can't afford it. So, I will have three boys to take care of.

I love watching children in my home. It's great to be able to stay at home with my son and make money at the same time! There is nothing better! And I love being able to help out moms who have to work. I love being able to provide a service that won't cost them an arm and a leg. Plus, I really love the children like my own. I would do just about anything for that little red head!

Life is grand!

Thank you for stopping by my blog!

I wish someone like you was in our community. I hope you did not take offense that I meant that all in home providers are not good. I know this is not the case. Though, I have yet to find one in our area. The problem with us is, we need part-time. None of the "good" in home providers will take part time kids. So it is very frustrating trying to find reliable daycare.

Keep up what you are doing! The working parents truly appreciate having a good person look after their kids.

Too True

The next time you feel like GOD can't use you, just remember...

Noah was a drunk
Abraham was too old
Isaac was a daydreamer
Jacob was a liar
Leah was ugly
Joseph was abused
Moses had a stuttering problem
Gideon was afraid
Samson had long hair and was a womanizer
Rahab was a prostitute
Jeremiah and Timothy were too young
David had an affair and was a murderer
Elijah was suicidal
Isaiah preached naked
Jonah ran from God
Naomi was a widow
Job went bankrupt
Peter denied Christ
The Disciples fell asleep while praying
Martha worried about everything
The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once
Zaccheus was too small
Paul was too religious
Timothy had an ulcer..AND
Lazarus was dead!

Grandma gave this to me! Thanks!!!

Ooops!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Yesterday I was on the way to the movies with my son and my nieces. We were running a little late, so I was speeding. Now mind you, I don't speed as often as I used to. Before I had my son, I was a speedaholic. My foot was made of lead and I always went at least 10 above the limit. I even drag raced at each stop light. I was crazy!

Since I've had my son, my speeding has been cut waaaay down! I am def more cautious since becoming a mom. At the most, I do 10 above...but I don't like to. I like staying right at 5 above the limit.

So anyway, I was going a little fast yesterday (like I said, we were running late and there was no one in front of me in the fast lane). And I guess I didn't realize how fast I was going till I saw a police man pointing his radar right at my car. I looked down and saw that I was doing over 80 (in a 65). Well, he ended up pulling me over.

I had a hard time of pulling out my license and proof of insurance since my hands were shaking. I made sure to mention my wonderful, fabulous, amazing police dad to the officer. The man didn't recognize my dad's name, so I got a little nervous. I wondered what he was going to do as he took my information back to the police car with him.

As it turns out, I didn't get a ticket!!! The officer checked out my dad's name and I got off because of it! The officer gave me a stern warning and I apologized over and over...and included several sirs ("yes sir, no sir"). Ahhh, I love my dad!

I have def learned my lesson (again...heehee!). I know that if I am running late, it doesn't help to speed, get pulled over, and spend more time by the side of the road instead of driving on the road at the speed limit. Make sense?

Tip of the day: Make sure you know the name and badge number of a police officer if you get pulled over. Being prepared only makes life grander!!!
