TMJ

Ever since she has been little, my mom has been able to pop and crack her jaw. She also used to grind her teeth and get headaches because of it. She would have a lot of jaw pain, but she finally asked her dentist about it last year. He told her that she has a TMJ disorder and that she needs to wear a special mouth guard to help fix the problem. She is supposed to where it all the time, do mouth exercises, and not chew gum unless she feels like dealing with a major headache. Sounds like fun, huh?!

Well ever since I was a kid, I had been able to chew the same piece of gum all day...we're talking at least 12 hours of chewin. I would take it out to eat and then pop it right back in (gross, I know). But I have not been able to do this the past few months. My jaw gets tired after 20 minutes of chewing gum...and I hate it! I love chewing things and gum has always helped with whatever diet I was on. But now I can't chew it without pain (plus, my jaw loves to pop just as my mom's does)! So I'm thinking I have a TMJ disorder as well.

Ahhhh, like mother, like daughter!

Are you planning to see a doctor? I don't know much about it, but maybe if you get treatment early on, it won't be as bad as your mom's.

i got my first nightguard or chewguard about five years ago and life has been so much better.

i was first given one that went over my front top teeth, but it didn't quite work out. i was then given another that was similar to a football mouth piece. it is soft on the inside, but hard on the bottom. now i can't sleep without it

That's Life

Okay, my job just got twice as hard. Since the oldest red head is now in big boy underwear, I have to make sure to take him to the potty every 45 min. And even then he is not guaranteed to be dry (since he just peed his pants). So I have to check him all the time!

I knew this time would come eventually, and I guess it's better than changing diapers...but it's still a pain! And then again, this is what I signed up for since I'm his care giver (during the hours of 7:15-5:30). So I guess I have no room to complain, do I?

Oh well, this too shall pass...life is grand that way!

Hey, I am going to offer advice, again. LOL! If the redhead is still wet even with 45 minute potty trips, take him every 15 to 20 minutes. I know it creates more work, but maybe you did this consistently for a couple of days he will start recognizing he needs to go. Also, he will start to like feeling dry.

My first one did what the redhead is doing and that is what I did for him. Ben ended up being potty trained within a couple of days.

It's Official...

The autistic boy's mom is carrying a boy. She was hoping for a girl since the chances of autism go waaaaaay down! But she did tell me that she and her hubby will def not be getting immunization shots for this one. They did with their first and that's when he switched from a healthy, normally developing child into an autistic boy.

Btw, the mom has me a little scared after what she said this morning. She said that the baby has been very active for the last few weeks, but she hasn't felt any movement since Tuesday. She did say that she has been more active the past few days, so she could be rocking the baby to sleep...but he hasn't been moving when she has been resting. When you can't feel the baby moving, your supposed to drink a can of pop and lay down for a while. But she is afraid to do that since she has gestational diabetes. So I told her to get to her doctor as soon as possible since she is at high risk for a miscarriage. I just hope everything turns out okay!

10
Blogger Viamarie said...

You were right by telling her to see her doctor. No sign of movement is dangerous. She should not take things for granted. Hope she follows your advice.

The immunization had nothing to do with her child's being autistic. She has nothing to fear about. In fact, more problems will develop when baby isn't immunized as scheduled.

January 27, 2006 10:14 AM

Blogger cube said...

I don't know much about the autism vs. immunization controversy, but I had my girls immunized for the reason viamarie stated. It's more dangerous not to.

About that poor mom, I feel bad for her. A sonogram would set her mind at ease. Babies don't all perform calisthenics in the womb, some are more quiet.

I hope all works out well for that family.

With my second pregnancy, I did not feel the baby moving enough towards the end of my pregnancy. He was fine, but I think I was too busy taking care of my older one to notice when he did move. He was actually breach and turned himself around in my 38th week. And I did not feel it!!! Odd, huh?

Interesting thing about being pregnant and vaccines and autism. If the mom is exposed to kids who have not been vaccinated those kids may be carrying rubella, it's not a bad disease for kids and adults and they can have it and not know it, sometimes... the fetus that the mom is carrying (or baby) could end up dead, badly deformed or even autistic. The irony is rather above and beyone ironic.

Not vaccinating kids to keep them from being autistic is totally, absolutely baseless and dangerous to the kids and to those around them.

Whooping cough can kill babies, it can cause damage to and kill kids. There are outbreaks of it in this country because people aren't getting vaccinated like they should. There was an outbreak of rubella last year in Canada among a bunch of unvaxed kids and the adults they live with.

Measles was just found in New Mexico. Measles can be mild or it can kill a kid. Polio can be brought in on a plane from Africa or Indonesia in one day. A little Amish girl got polio last year.

Diptheria is horrible and it's still around in other countries.

The question of vaccines and autism is almost settled in the UK, most people now don't buy the vaccine theory. It was a load of garbage to begin with.

Thanks for listening. I hope the mom's baby is alright and that she vaccinates her kids as directed by a competent doctor.

autismdiva.blogspot.com has lots of stuff about autism and the hysteria surrounding it.

She has been giving herself her shot for her diabetes OGO. But I'll suggest the juice, thanks!

Thanks Day!

I hope she did this weekend BSTS!

Will do FC!

I hear ya Camille! But she is so scared to get the baby shots. She doesn't want to risk anything. She's even willing to homeschool the child if the schools won't accept him for not having his shots.

Found It!

Image hosting by Photobucket

Here is the nasty pic of me in my pink flower girl dress. My grandma happens to love the pic and even has it framed along with some of the leftover flowers...crazy grandmas!!! Not only am I wearing pink, but my hair is nasty. A few months before this pic was taken, my hair was down to my waist. For some weird reason my mom decided to cut my hair and then perm it. So I look like I have a mullet in the pic! Not good!!!

This picture was also from my aunt's first wedding. So you can see why I have a problem with pink being the main wedding color for her second wedding. I just had a bad experience...heehee!!! But I hope my mom looks better in pink since she's one of the bridesmaids.

Mawage

Mawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday.

Just found out yesterday that my aunt is getting remarried this October. She had been married for almost 15 years when her husband repeatedly cheated on her. They separated and now she has found a great guy! Her kids could care less about this man, but her son really needs a good, strong father figure in his life.

Anyway, my aunt asked my mom to be one of her bridesmaids. She also has 2 other of her older sister-in-laws as bridesmaids...and the main wedding color is pink! Pink!!!

I know some of you are wondering what the big deal is about pink, but I just don't care for the color myself. But I have a good reason...I'm a red head. I just don't do pink!

With my aunt's first marriage, the color was also pink. I happen to be her flower girl, so I was dressed in pink as well (I'll have to find that pic). It was not a pretty sight!!!

Is there any color that you just don't wear?

I'm a winter - I cannot wear pink. But much worse than that on me is orange. I had this favorite shirt once that was orange. I finally gave it away because even though I loved it, I looked awful in it.

You could just let your hair grow out to its natural color in time for October in order to rock the pink....

But, even if you keep your hair dyed the red, you could still wear the pink proudly. Many red heads are doing just that these days and looking fabulous. Our pastor's daughter and Lo's cousin to name two.

Blogger Trinity13 said...

I'll stick to natural colors like brown and green PJ! But the pink looked great in your wedding sweetie!

I too like red FC...red hair that is!

That's another color I don't care for Viamarie...yellow. Just not flattering on me!

I don't think I've ever worn orange Day!

I'm def a fall girl Jana. And my aunt made my bridesmaids dresses. I picked my fav color-blue!

I think we all agree that orange is just not a good color Cube!

Same here with the orange Texas. Keep it with Halloween!

Hmmmm, I don't wear that color either Arm!

I missed you too OGO! Good to see you again!!!

I love black Capt...but I think it's only good for evening weddings.

I too love blue Mar...it's a wonderful color!

That's my point Becky. Why would you have the same weddings color that you did for your first wedding???

Finally, someone who agrees with me! Thanks DW!!!

When it comes to weddings Guru, I try not to wear anything the same color as the wedding colors. So pink is out!!! :-)

And the hair will be brown again prob after I donate 12 in to Locks of Love. (Btw, I've never liked pink on red heads...no matter if they are cute to begin with. But that's just me! Pink and red don't mix in my book.)

My Mother-In-Law

Image hosting by Photobucket

Today is the second anniversary of my dear mother-in-law's passing. She was one of the kindest ladies I have ever met...and the best mil a girl could ask for!!!

I remember seeing her the day before she passed away. I found a nice pre-lit Christmas tree for her to replace her older, small tree in an after Cmas sale. So my hubby, son, and I went over to her home and set up the tree while she and my father-in-law were out. I can still remember her surprised expression when she opened the door and saw us standing there with her new tree. She was so happy!

A few hours later she went home to be with her Lord.

Today my hubby picked up our son during his lunch hour. Together they went and picked out some purple (her fav color) tulips for her grave. I thought that it was very important for my son to go with his daddy since I never want my son forgetting his Mamaw (she passed away a month and a half before his second birthday). I always want him to remember what a wonderful woman she was.

We'll see you again someday Mamaw!

Chinese Sundays

Since some of you asked about this dish, I thought I would just make a post about it!!! Excited yet?! I didn't think so...heehee!

This food dish is something my mom's family has done for years. It's great for party's with a large group of people. The host makes up rice and a chicken sauce made by mixing chicken and cream of chicken soup. Then the guests all bring toppings to put on the dish. Last night we had people bring cheese, diced tomatoes, diced onions, chow mein noodles, sour cream, canned pineapple, coconut, chopped nuts, and cherries (you can use a lot more toppings...like peppers, celery, bacon bits, etc). Unlike my hubby, I don't all those toppings on my chicken and rice. I start with a good base of rice, then I add about 2 ladles of the chicken sauce. Then goes on the cheese (it goes on first so it can start melting), then some pineapple, nuts, chow mein noodles, coconut, and finally a cherry on top. Believe it or not, even with those weird toppings, the dish tastes fantastic!!! It's probably one of my favorite meals!

Here is a pick of my hubby's Chinese sunday from our leftovers lunch today. Notice how it looks just like an ice cream sunday.
Image hosting by Photobucket
Today he put on cheese, coconut, chow mein noodles, pineapple, sour cream and cherries...he would have put on more, but that's all the toppings we had in the house! Heehee!!! And yes, the chicken and rice is somewhere down on the bottom!

Tired

Good grief, I'm already tired today. I got to bed last night at about midnight (had to stay up to watch Smallville), so I got about 6 hours of sleep. But right now I feel like I've been up all night. My eyes are heavy and I have no energy. I would drink something with caffeine in it to wake me up, but doesn't effect me. If anything, caffeine makes me sleepy. I could drink a huge cappuccino from this place (hmmmm, they have the best coffee drinks), but every time I do, I usually take a nap afterward. I guess drinking it just wipes me out!

You bet! Coffee makes me sleepy too. It has been my habit to take coffee around 10:00 p.m. or just before going to bed and it really makes yawn and off to bed.

T13's Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things about Trinity13

1. I had a wonderful day off yesterday! It was nice to be able to just hang out with my son all day.

2. I have the day off today as well! We plan on going to the grocery, and then we might go spend some time with my mom...and maybe go window shopping!

3. Smallville is on tonight. I can't wait to see what's in store with Jonathan Kent's election race.

4. I had a meeting with the autistic boy's behavior specialist this morning. She is trying to put a plan in place to allow for more structure in the home. I hope it works!

5. I found out last night that the autistic boy's mom is in the hospital. The baby is okay, but she has gestational diabetes. So they are trying to regulate her blood sugar before sending her home. She told me that it has actually been a nice break for her...that it's wonderful just being out of the house for a while.

6. The diet is going pretty well. I'm def eating better, but I need to start exercising. It really helps me lose weight, but I just don't have the time or energy to work out.

7. I could get up at 5:30 to work out, but come on now! That's just crazy!!!

8. I thought about going to a church scrapbooking party tomorrow, but it's been forever since I've worked on my boy's book. I'm still in his hospital pics (there were over a 150 to look through) so the end is no where in sight and it's discouraging.

9. Maybe I'll just hire PJ to finish it for me!!! She is so creative!

10. According to my son, his farts smell like pirates!

11. And mine smell like roses and flowers...he is so smart!

12. I'm ready to watch some more movies this weekend...maybe Mr. & Mrs. Smith, or Into the Blue, or maybe even The Island.

13. I'm off for the day! Blog ya later!!!

I say go for the scrapbooking and enjoy the fellowship. It does get overwhelming, I know. I have found that if you take only 6 photos for each spread you get a lot more accomplished than having all of them with you. Then you know your theme too and only need to bring stuff for that theme.

I think I need to have a scrappin' party soon.

I'm Back!

Well I had a wonderful break! Saturday nights birthday party for my father-in-law was a success in my book! We had about 50 people attend!!! There was plenty of food, and we got many compliments on the yummy cake!

On Sunday, my hubby and I had over my sister and her new boyfriend (thanks mom for taking the boy for the night!). My sis has had a 6 year crush on this boy of hers. He finally came to his senses and asked her out about a month ago! They have been inseparable ever since!!! I def think this is the one for her!

Anyway, they came over and had some pizza with us. Since they are movie freaks, we watched Office Space and Red Eye. Then we watched DH and GA before tuning into The Matrix Reloaded. Needless to say, we had a late night together. I think this soon will be one of many late movie night with them!

I got to sleep in yesterday since my mom had my son (and she got to sleep in as well since he didn't get up till past 10). It was so nice to not have to get up. I got to sleep in till about 11, then I met up with my sis so that we could head over to the movie theatre. We had a fabulous time together and she didn't stop smiling the entire time (ahhhh, she is in love!).

All in all, I had a wonderful weekend!!! And I'll be having another break this week. I will not have the red heads tomorrow or Thursday, so it will be nice having some alone time with my son. And I'll actually be able to grocery shop during the day...I'm so excited!!! Heehee!

No Time

I'll be busy tonight and most of tomorrow. We are celebrating my father-in-laws 50th birthday tomorrow evening and I have quite a few things to get ready before the party.

I made up some fudge earlier this afternoon, but I will prob make up more tomorrow. I also have to finish up the favor candy bags and I need to get some pigs in blankets made up. I think I'll also mix up some no-bakes as well...hmmmm, no-bakes!!!

So, have a wonderful weekend!!! Do any of you have big plans for the long weekend?

Saying I Love You

My hubby tells me that he loves me all the time. He tells me before work, when he comes, while watching TV, when I'm helping my son eat his dinner, right before bed, etc., etc. I appreciate it, really I do, but he wants to me say "I love you too" in response. While that's a nice thing to do, I can't. It's not that I don't love him, but I just don't like being made to do anything. If I want to say I love you, I will. I won't say it out of obligation.

And I def don't want to do it out of habit and or have it be a knee jerk reaction. I want to really mean it every time!!!

In fact, I think he says I love you too often. It's like he doesn't even think about it. It's just something he has to say to me, his wife. He'll insist that he means it every time, but I still think it's too much.

I must be crazy!

When my husband goes on the overkill binge I start to rely on phrases like, "Of course you do", "Why wouldn't you", and "I know." :)

Of course there are other methods of communicating love besides saying, "I love you", but none of them are complete without the spoken word.

Performing an unrequested chore is a great way to express love, but how does the lovee determine the lover's motive if they don't explain themselves?

How long should the "of course you do"s and "I know"s replace a natural loving reply?

From first hand experience, it is a huge rush to hear from the one you love that they love you too, instead of them just acknowledging, ignoring, or deflecting your statement.

When you have very few people in your life who REALLY love you, and even fewer who verbalize it, sometimes it's just nice to hear it.

The last thing I would ask is for anyone to be forced to say those 3 little words if they don't mean them.

Maybe I tell my wife that I love her too often(if that's possible), but I do mean it every time.

Those who know me best can testify that I don't say things I don't mean, especially nice things.

Bottom line: I know that I am loved. However, knowing isn't the same as feeling.

January 13, 2006 5:38 AM

Blogger cube said...

You're right, the phrase can be overused, but it is better than the alternative. Some people never hear it at all. Maybe you should tell him how you feel about it.

January 13, 2006 8:57 AM

Blogger Trinity13 said...

I agree Sandy...a spouse (more specifically a man) shows their love through actions.

You can have mine Minerva! HA!!! Just kiddin!

It means more if said less Karen...so only for big occasions works for me!

I disagree (naturally...heehee) with most of your points G. I don't need an I love you to know that I am loved. It's all about the actions baby!!! For example, when you clean out the litter box, it means more to me than you saying "those 3 little words".

And I'm sure hearing "I love you too" wouldn't mean so much to you if I said it all the time. It would lose it's meaning and you would become used to it.

It may be a huge rush for you (only because I don't say I love you very often), but for me it isn't. I don't feel anything when you tell me that you love me (since I already know that you do). And I think it's because you say it waaaay too much! It has lost it's meaning. I'm just not feelin the love.

It is nice to hear it G, but not all the time. Instead show me that you love me. Or back up your words with action. Saying I love you is the easy way out...instead, romance your wife!!! And start tonight...if you know what I mean! Heehee!

I'm working on it Cube, thanks!

You aren't crazy. You just operate differently from him. As long as he respects that, and doesn't get upset when you don't say it back, then don't worry about it. This is something my husband and I have to work on when it comes to being "touchy feely" becuase it's not my bag. And, if I feel forced or made to feel obligated to do something I get really resentful and rebellious.

I think the best thing you could do is just talk to him about it and your reasoning. It is great you have a husband who is so ready to tell you he loves you though! A lot of women have it the other way around. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I know G means it PJ...but I don't feel it. That's the difference. I need actions to back up words. That's how I feel love from him, that is how my love tank gets filled. My love languages are words of affirmation combined with acts of service. One usually can't be done without the other to make me feel loved. So I want more than the words since the words alone do nothing for me. If he really loved me and wanted to show it, he would show me love in my language and not how he sees fit at that time. Like I said, I feel more love from him when he cleans out the litter box then when he says I love you...but that's just me! Ha!!!

We def have some things in common Crazy Momcat! I'm not a touchy feely person either. I like my space and I don't like being forced to do anything. I do appreciate him saying I love you though! I just wish I felt the love behind it.

No you're not crazy. It's just that you have been hearing these words to many times that you feel it doesn't mean anything any longer but to your spouse, it may mean something. If he says it many times maybe he just doesn't know how to show you how much he does love you - reason for repeated I Love You.
Don't take yourself too seriously but never never fail to take your spouse seriously enough.

He does have a hard time showing me love FC...but he is working on it.

I just love it when he does it PJ!

Your right PJ, I can't make G show me love in the way that I actually feel it. But he should want make me feel loved. It all comes down to speaking each others love language. He could rub my feet every night, hold my hand where ever we go, give me tons of hugs, or rest his hand on my leg while we are sitting together...but I don't feel love through this. His language is physical touch, so that is how he would express his love for me. But in order for me to feel the love he has for me, he needs to give me affirming words and acts of service (the two work hand in hand with me). I'll have to let ya borrow the 5 love languages book PJ...it's a wonderful read and you find out so much about how to express your love for your spouse in the way they can feel it.

Oh yes Jana...I love it!

Right Armaedes!

Up And Coming B-day

For the past couple of years, I have dreaded my birthday. I call it the day of disappointment. I try to look forward to it, but when I do, it's always a big let down. It's been this way since I was 19. I know things will never be like they are when you are a kid, but a girl can dream, can't she?

I just don't want to be this way this year. I want to be happy and grateful for whatever happens (or doesn't happen) on my big day. I want to have a different attitude starting right now! My birthday is about three weeks away and I want to look forward to it!

So, if you send a prayer out for my hubby, that would be great! He will soon be starting to think about plans for my birthday...and he needs all the help he can get!!!

Hey, hey! Happy Birthday! Birthdays are great! I love birthdays, especially when it's mine, heehee. Think of all the fun things you could do now that you couldn't do when you were younger! Think of all the fun places you are free to go to that your youth prevented you from going to! And even if your hubby doesn't plan something ultra-spectacular, why don't you plan something for the both of you? Girls are really much better with these things, so i say just go for it! Relax, enjoy, celebrate and have fun! :-D

I never used to like my birthdays much either. Especially after I turned 30. Last year, the Deputy reminded me of something. As we get older, with children, it isn't about us. It is about what we have. And I have three little boys that like to make a big deal out of mommy's birthday. After realizing that, I think I look forward to them now.

Hmm. So your birthday is coming ha? Well, advance happy birthday. Of course it's okay to dream. You don't have to be young to dream. Even older people can. Birthdays are good because it reminds you that you are towards another step in you life, be it good or bad. Dreams are for free so go ahead and spend all you have for your dream in life and surely you will get it you only strive. Sweat it out too with all your heart for you will never in this world be born again.

Aww....Trin....I wish we lived closer so I could be an encouragment in person. Keep your chin up! Birthdays are milestones. Look at getting older as a badge of honor. That's how I'm trying to look at the access weight and stretch marks from having the kids. I never do big things for my birthday, but just spending time with family and going out with my hubby (a treat in itself with the rat race of life going on around me) is all the celebration I need. I will pray for your hubby, and also that you are content and happy on your birthday. Huggs!

Tired

I don't know what is up with me. I'm tired all the time. Last night I was in bed before 11 (which is quite an accomplishment for me!), I got up around 6:30, but was exhausted by 8am. I rested on the couch for most of the morning while oldest boys played right next to me. Then I took an afternoon nap while the boys were napping. After all that, I'm still tired. And it's not like I ever sleep too much during the day since I'm still sleepy after no naps. So I'm not sure what to do. Do I go to bed even sooner? Do I limit my napping/resting to an hour a day? Do I hibernate for the rest of the winter?

Btw, after yesterdays comments, it sounds like I'm not alone...that most women to the same thing I do. We love to move around furniture! I don't feel so alone now, thank you!!!

Furniture Moving

I'm never satisfied. If my hubby does something for me and he follows my specific instructions, I'm still not happy. I can always find something to critique...which can be good and bad. It's good only because I critique myself all the time and find new ways to try to improve myself.

Anyway, I'm not crazy with my couch placement. You see, after the Cmas tree was put away, there was a big empty spot in the living room. I was not happy with this. So a few days ago, I decided to move around the couches...but it was temporary since I still wasn't happy. Then my hubby and I spent about an hour moving them around again. We finally have them in a great spot, but am I happy? NO! It still doesn't feel right. But I think I could live with it if I moved the piano and the crystal cabinet...and maybe the dvd cabinet.

Hmmmm.......

Change is good, but don't get too worked up over it. Hang in there! Huggs!

Autistic Boy Update

Since it's Thursday, I had the autistic boy this morning. He is not doing so well again. He behaves so-so with me...depending on his mood. This morning he was tired, so he was acting up. He smacked me a few times and he was stemming quite a bit. Usually when he acts up, I take him for a drive. This morning it really calmed him down...thank the Lord!

This morning he was an angel compared to how he is with the other care taker. He hits, kicks, bites, and pinches her ALL the time. With her he pulls down the window blinds, tears down doors (he broke the front door just yesterday), throws the tv to the floor, and screams at her. She is fed up and is about ready to quit. And I was in her place a few months ago. He was an angel with her and fought with me. It switches every few months...and it needs to stop all together!

Something drastic needs to happen with this kid. His parents have tried many new medications and they all seem to work...for a little while. His body gets used to the meds and then they stop working.

He really needs to settle down...especially since his mom is pregnant! She had tried for 6 years before having him (and had several miscarriages-including twins). She then had another miscarriage when he was young. She got on the pill and come to find out (after being on the pill 4 years) she's pregnant-and due in June. This was totally unexpected and she was scared at first. But now she is past the risk point and is starting to get excited.

Her hubby is VERY upset with her being pregnant. It sounds like he wants her to take care of the baby...if you know what I mean. She def does not want to do this. She will leave her hubby before that will happen. This morning she was even asking me for info about my apartment complex.

So, I'm not sure what's going to happen with this family. I don't know if they will stay together. I don't know if they are going to send their autistic son into a special home. I just don't know what the future holds for them. And I don't know what I can do for this family besides pray for them.

I have friends in this exact situation. They finally had to put the boy in an institution and visit him 3 x a week. It was the only option because the sibs were getting hurt.

I did a lot of work with autistic kids. #1. You can never get mad at them. EVER. It's not possible for them to act normal. It's like asking someone to wiggle their ears. Not possible. #2. Subtle changes in the diet can help. Preservatives and additives like BHT and BHA (?) make it much worse.

3. Prayers. Love. and Patience. <--Tons of these.

It's hard after so long to not get mad at him Fof3. Everyone has their breaking point...and his mom is at hers. But at least she doesn't expect her son to ever be normal, unlike the dad.

And we know not to give him too much bread. I guess the yeast effects his system.

Thirteen Things about Trinity13

(I was tagged my M.C. Pearson quite a while ago, and just now by Deputy's Wife, so my first 5 are random weird things about me.)
1. I can burp the alphabet.

2. I pick the sock fuzzys out of between my toes every night.

3. I do the same for my son.

4. I've eaten shrimp eyes before.

5. I have to smell everything (ex: I smelled each Cmas gift I received).

6. I found some great Cmas stuff tonight at 75% off! I now have all my napkins, tablecloths, and plates for the next Cmas.

7. My mom had x-rays taken of her foot today and found out that she broke it! She refuses to wear an ankle boot since she has been able to walk around on it. The doc was okay with that as long as her foot doesn't get any worse.

8. I found out today that a friend of mine as diabetes...and he is younger than I am! I guess it runs in his family since his aunt has it.

9. I slept waaaay too much today. I rested while the boys played in front of me, and I took a three hour nap this afternoon. But I'm still tired! I guess I just need to get to bed earlier.

10. I need to do laundry, but I just haven't gotten used to the washer and dryer being in the basement yet.

11. My cousin's baby shower is this weekend. She and her hubby are still not quite excited yet. They wanted to wait a few more years, but I guess God had something else in mind for them.

12. I will be having the red heads an extra 45 min each Thursday...but do I get paid any more for that...NO! I guess I should just stop being so greedy.

13. I got to type this up in bed!!! How cool is that?!

Your oldest niece also loves to pick her sock fuzzies (or at least she used to when she was younger). When her sister was born, she used to take her socks off and clean her sock fuzzies too.

Shrimp eyes? Ewww!

I had to get used to my laundry in the basement too. It really piled up before I got into the swing of things. I do two loads a day. I got baskets for colors, towels, whites, delicates, and jeans. With the baskets, it is a breeze to separate and I pick a basket that is full.

Also, doing it this way, our water bill has gone down around $6 a month. I think it is because I am doing full loads instead of partial ones.

Burping the alphabet? Haven't quite figured out how that's done, heehee. Yup, that is definitely a weird list! Especially smelling the gifts! And it's great to know that there's someone out there who listens to rock music when's she's pregnant too :-)

Smelling as in everything is really weird. I smell only food that I have never eaten before so I'll know if I'll like it or not. As for the shrimp eyes...I also eat them only when their deep fried with flour. Burping the alphabet is another weird habit...can't imagine how it's done.

Done

It's done...the Cmas has finally been put away! I have such a great feeling of accomplish to have it out of my sight! Now I just need to get out all the pictures and decorations that I have been storing. I didn't even want to mess with them after our move since it was so close to Cmas. But now I have the huge task of finding the perfect spot for each little item. I will also be filling up my crystal cabinet. Again, I just didn't feel like messing with it till after the holidays.

I get the red heads back tomorrow. I should of had them today, but their dad's work schedule has changed. He now will be working 4 ten hour days, so I will have more time off...which means less money for me. On one hand, I don't like it that I will be making less, but one the other, I'm looking forward to more alone time with my son (and since I'll have an extra little one in Feb, it will give me more of a break). Plus, watching someone else's kids all day is starting to wear on me. I'm a little tired of it, but it helps out my professional working mom friends and it brings in extra money for me.

Ahhhh, I need to get some sleep!

Fiesta Bowl!

We won! We won!!! My lovely OSU Buckeyes won at 34-20 against Notre Dame! What a victory! Yeah baby...but I had no doubt! Heehee!!!

We ended up having a really great fiesta (all because of PJ's presence...heehee!), at least I think so! I made Max & Erma's tortilla soup (my first time making, but I think it turned out pretty good!), my cheesy chip dip, and sweet corn cake. Then I also had some seasoned meat and cheese for soft and hard shells. We then had left over Cmas cookies, buckeyes, fudge, fried ice cream pie (hmmmm!!!), and bunny tracks ice cream (thanks Guru and Lo).

(Btw, could I have any more links in that above paragraph?!!!)

My diet officially starts tomorrow. I plan on taking over all the Mexican leftovers to my parents house. Since my mom fell yesterday, hurt her back, and messed up her ankle, she's not able to go to work...and she can't get up to cook. So, I'll be wrapping all the food up and taking it over so she doesn't have to cook for the next two days (yes, we have that much left over) and I won't eat it all on the new diet!

Did you watch any football yesterday or today? Did your team win?

Resolution

Besides getting a pet octopus and eating more gummy bears, I have decided to try to lose weight again this year (and not by tossing midgets). For the past two new year's, I have always resolved to lose 40-60 pounds. Last year I lost about 40 and I'm hoping to beat it this year. I def need to get back in shape and lose some of this excess weight. I know I have put on some holiday pounds since my pants are not fitting so well right now.

I think I'll use my Tae-Bo tape again this year, along with some added walking in the evening. We live in a nice community, so I would love to walk it a few times a week. I might also work out on our new (to us) Total Gym. We got it by trading in our trampoline, which we can't have at our townhouse, for it. (Thanks Oz for the great trade!!!)

Just like the last two years, this diet does not start on the first of January. I'm waiting till the third to start this one up. I want to wait till after our Fiesta Bowl party...cause I want to enjoy the Mexican food!!! Hmmm, tacos!

Hi Trinity. I'm visiting from Michele's.

I'm in the same boat as you and many others. My NY resolution is to lose weight. I'm at 215 now and I want to get down to 190. I'm holding off on starting for a few months though--so this way I can't break my resolution really quickly.

Since you lost 40 last year you should be getting towards your eventual goal. I hope this year sees just as much progress for you, Trinity. Happy New Year!

Octopus for a pet? Isn't this quite difficult to acquire? Eating gummy bears okay but not too much lest you get indigeston. Losing weight very much approved.
Happy New Year. May you and your family have the best and most prosperous new year ever.

Not really but I'm envious! Keep on trucking! Now enjoy that Mexican food!
