My Kitty

I am getting ready to take Miss Kitty to the vet today. She will be getting up to date on shots, getting fixed, and getting de-clawed...finally! My hubby and I actually have a little bit of money this month to be able to send the cat to the doc. We are both a little tired of her scratching us and messing up two spots on the couch.

I think she knows that something is going on since I had to take away her food from her last night. She wasn't allowed to eat after 9pm. So, she has been really lovey this morning and meowing for her food, which I won't give her.

The vet told me that I should buy some special paper litter for her litter box. She needs something that won't get stuck in her paws. I will do anything to make sure that her newly de-clawed paws don't get infected. I don't want another trip to the vet.

Btw, I know a post about my cat is boring...but that's all I got. Life is grand that way!

Torn

I have had part of a song go through my head for the past few days. I not really sure why. Maybe it has to do with seeing a doctor vs trusting in God for help conceiving. Maybe it's not. Like I said, I am not really sure why this song has been on my mind.

Here is the part:

I’m all out of faith, this is how I feel
I’m cold and I am shamed lying naked on the floor
Illusion never changed into something real
I’m wide awake and I can see the perfect sky is torn
I’m all out of faith, this is how I feel
I’m cold and I’m ashamed bound and broken on the floor
You’re a little late, I’m already torn

An Interview

Here are my question from an interview with Nina.(I love this type of stuff!) Btw, sorry it took so long Nina...I had to really think about my answers.

1. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?

I would change myself so that I would not get angry and upset so quickly. I can be cool and calm one second, and a witch with a capital b the next. My hubby has to constantly step lightly around me. He never knows when I will go off on him. I just wish I could control my anger.

2. What is the most sentimental memory you have of you and hubby togetherr?

Ah, it would probably have to be when we heard the heartbeat of our son for the first time. I knew before I heard that beautiful sound that I was pregnant, but I guess it hadn't hit me yet. As the doctor held a device to my growing belly, I had to cry I was so happy. My hubby was there and didn't understand it at first, but then he began to realize how much that little thump thump meant to me. Now, I would do just about anything to hear that little thump thump from my belly again.

3. How has being a parent changed your life?

Wow, good question. Ummm, it has changed my life dramatically. I am so much more outgoing now. Before my son, I was very shy and still very much a child. I wouldn't speak up about anything and I was much more reserved. My son has helped my grow dramatically! I am a completely different person now. He has also taught me that there is more to life than filling the needs of myself.

4. What are 5 major things you want to accomplish before you die?

-I want to have more children
-I want to get a college degree
-I want to be able to send my kids to college
-I want to actually be able to keep money in a savings account
-I want to be able to hear God and know what He wants me to do for Him

5. How would you describe your inner self to a perfect stranger?

This is a really hard one, but here goes...I am an emotional, Christian woman who is externally stubborn. I am very intense at times, but meek the next. My inner self is constantly changing to meet the needs of others or the needs of current life situations.

If you would love to be interviewed like I was, just let me know and I can send some questions your way!

A Great Weekend

It's true, I had a wonderful weekend. It started off with my nieces coming over to spend the night. We had so much fun together. We even went and borrowed a few dvds from my parents. (They buy everything!) After getting home, I put in Ella Enchanted. It's a really cute movie, but the girls ended up falling asleep around the middle of it.

After sleeping the entire night in their own sleeping bags(usually they find their way to my room in the middle of the night), they helped me make cinnamon pancakes. Then we watched The Incredibles while we ate our breakfast. The girls loved the Jack-Jack Attack special in the dvd extras section.

After a morning of playing and having fun, we met my sister(since my hubby had to work) at the cheapo theater to see Racing Stripes. The kids really enjoyed this movie because of all the talking animals(With the voices of Frankie Muniz, Mandy Moore, Michael Clarke Duncan, Jeff Foxworthy, Joshua Jackson, Snoop Dogg, Joey Pants, Michael Rosenbaum, Steve Harvey, David Spade, Dustin Hoffman, and Whoopi Goldberg). My son loved the flies talking about biting horses and eating poop. What a typical boy!

We got home and while my son put himself down for a nap(crazy, I know!), the girls, my sis, and I colored some eggs for Easter. The finished eggs looked beautiful! The girls really did a great job. After they left, I was able to start getting things ready for Easter. I had to dust off the iron to press our Sunday cloths. I don't think I had used the things since Easter of last year! I also got the food ready for the next day along with other little tasks that needed to be done around the house.

I got up early the next day to continue working on some deviled eggs for lunch. My son and hubby didn't get up till 10, so they both only had a half an hour to get ready with me. I wore this really pretty blue Asian style long dress shirt with my khaki pants. The shirt(which was only $2.99!!!) was a little big since I bought it over a month ago while I was 15 pounds heavier. But, I could live with it...heehee!

We were quite rushed, but got to my father-in-laws church a few minutes early. We got to hear the same old Easter sermon we do every year. What a joy!

After church, my hubby and I had to head back home to pick up a change of cloths and the deviled eggs. Then, we were off to my parents house for a wonderful dinner of ham, potatoes, green beans, deviled eggs, hot pineapple, rolls, and plenty of dessert.

I had way too much chocolate! I just couldn't help myself...it was sooo good! I thinks it's okay to cheat a little on holidays. Who wants to be good when there is so much great food and family around?

Life is grand with chocolate!

Monday's Weigh In

I am almost done with my weight loss goal. I was hoping to be done by now, but holiday eating happens. I had so much good food yesterday at my mom's house. The ham so very yummy and I had to have several of my deviled eggs. My mom also had peanut butter eggs...ahhh, heavenly!

Like I said(err... wrote), I was hoping to be done this week. I know that Guru has hit his goal(at least I think he has), so I am in last place. I really want to be done with my 40 pounds this week. I only have 2 more to go with not a holiday in sight.

New Blog To Read

Recently I have been finding some great new blogs to read. I just found Cady the other day and I thought I would celebrate this by stealing a quiz and a post idea from her. Thanks girl!

First the quiz:

Which HP Kid Are You?

And now the questionnaire:
How many...
1. Computer-related gadgets do you own? 6...I think.
2. Pictures on your living/family room walls? I don't have any pictures in my family room, but I have 15 pictures in the hall way.
3. Magnets on your refrigerator? Over 70
4. Reference books in your bookshelves? Bookshelves? What bookshelves? I have to store my books in a big tupperware container that holds up a tv.
5. Boxes of cereal in your cupboards? 5...my son is a cereal freak!
6. Lamps in your house? 8
7. Times a week do you shop for groceries? I go major grocery shopping once a month with little stops for milk or bread once or twice a week
8. Magazines do you subscribe to? 2, Reader's Digest and Our Daily Bread.
9. TV programs do you watch on a regular basis? Ummm, 7 I think: CSI Miami, American Idol, Charmed, Smallville, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Desperate Housewives, and Boston Legal.
10. Items on your bathroom counter that don't really need to be there? Ahhh, a few. I have a toy globe, a used up lint roller, and my hubby's Nextel.

The Visit

The visit with the nurse practitioner went very well this morning. She did her thing and we talked about some of my concerns. I have to go back in on Monday to get some blood work done. I hope they can reassure me that I am healthy in every way possible. I really don't want to get into fertility treatments. It would just be to stressful and to expensive for me and my family.

Afterward, I was able to do some shopping in a scrapbooking store. I am currently working on my son's album and I wanted some more stickers. I have to start working on him album at home now since my scrapbooking consultant isn't selling supplies anymore. This also means that I don't have a time set aside every few months to work on the book(since she used to have scrapbooking parties). I have to find my own time, which is very hard for me being a sahm.

I will have to post some picture of my work so far. It takes forever for me to finish even a page. It runs on average about an hour per page and I have a lot of pages to go! I also have to find room for all the hospital pictures...I only have over 100! Oh well.

Life is grand when scrapbooking!

Hey, I can give you the name of my creative memories consultant. (not that I do a lot of scrapbooking right now, though I really need to). Her son is in Em's class at school and has been since kindergarten. She actually used to live about 8 houses down from you but just moved (actually she may be moving this weekend). She's still close though in Canal Winchester. If you want her name or # just let me know.

I didn't realize you had a consultant. Are you working on an album right now? I would love to see it! You know, scrapbooking is always so much more fun when with someone.

If you are really into it, let me know. I am always on the lookout of new stickers and sales. I probably spent an hour in the scrapbooking store today. There is just so much to look at!

I might just have to get your consultants number. My old consultant still scrapbooks, but I am not sure if she is still be having parties.

Well, I went to one party and finished one page. My problem is that all my pictures are on our digital camera or on the computer, we don't print them out like we should. (and when we do print them out, the quality sucks cause we have an old, not so great dig. camera). But she always sends me emails saying when she's having her crop til you drop things. I've just never gone cause I don't have any pictures to use.

Blogger Trinity13 said...

You should go with me sometime to Sam's(or borrow my card). That's where I got all of our digital pics developed for a really low price. I was even able to lighten up the pictures and crop things out. I know that most drug stores have a photo center, but Sam's Club had the cheapest price(at the time).

An Un-enjoyable Visit

Today I scheduled myself a visit with my obgyn. I haven't been to a check up since my now three year old son was 6 weeks old...it's time. Anyway, I called to get an appointment to make sure that everything is running smoothly down there. Since I have been off the birth control for almost two years, I want the doctor could check me out and see if I am healthy in the baby making area.

So, I called the doctor's office and the receptionist told me that my doc(a female) was booked till September! I really didn't want to wait 6 months to be checked out so I told my sad little story to the receptionist. After putting me on hold for a minute, she asked if I would care to be seen by the nurse practitioner THIS Thursday. I immediately said yes!

Here's the problem...the receptionist said that the nurses name is Sam. With a neutral name like that, I am not sure if I am being seen by a man or a woman. I am not exactly comfortable with a man seeing all of my most private parts. That's why I went with a female doctor to have my son. But, in order to be seen soon, I had to go with the nurse practitioner(oh please be a female).

I know that during my C-sec that a few male nurses and doctor saw me somewhat naked from the waist down...but none of them tested my boobs for lumps like they do in office visits. I am a little afraid of some strange nurse man touching me. Am I crazy for this???

G, that is because you are a f'ing p*ssy. Man up, dude.

I got slapped with a female to do my two operations for my kidney. I didn't walk out because a woman was going to touch and insert things into my penis.

Trin will stay, man or woman, because having a baby is more important to her than her momentary uncomfortability. She has set her priorities. Baby above self.

I would just hope that if she checks out okay, you will put your fears aside and go see a doctor, too.

Blogger Pete said...

To be read with kindness and no sarcasm

That was a little harsh, so I want to restate it. G, I think I know what you were trying to do/say when you commented, but I wanted to stress how important it is to Trin to have this checkup. If it was being administered by an elephant - as long as it was board certified - I think that she would be in there.

Her actions show how badly she wants the child and how seriously she is taking it. I fear that your flip comments indicate that you would not do the same and go see a doctor if she checks out okay.

It is not fun to hear, but if she is fairly okay, and you have been trying so long, then the problem just could lie with you and you are not doing all that you can if you don't see a doctor.

If you need a referral, I would suggest the office that handled my kidney stone. They handle everything having to do with "down there" and they have plenty of male doctors, if that is a problem.

Just don't let it take too long before you act. You have been trying for almost two years. That indicates a problem. Men like to solve problems... solve the problem, man.

You can do it.

March 23, 2005 9:26 AM

Blogger loelsh said...

First of all, you guys are a couple of sissies for not wanting a DOCTOR of the opposite sex to check you out. :) I kind of understand as I also chose a female dr. for my ob/gyn. (I was also 17 at the time). And when Luke was born, my female dr was not on duty at the hospital so a male dr did the delivery and I had no concerns. He's a dr. plain and simple. He does this for a living, so He's seen his fair share of "down there"'s.
On a side note, trin, you can relax a bit. I used to work at that ob/gyn office and Sam is a female. From my experience there, the women either love her or hate her.

March 23, 2005 1:29 PM

Blogger Trinity13 said...

Thanks Lo for putting my little("sissy") concern at rest...even though if Sam had been a man(or an elephant), I would have still gone through with the appointment.

Btw people, what's with all the name calling in the comments?(rhetoric question) I don't think it's necessary(even if in good fun).

New Jeans

My hubby and I went shopping over the weekend to get me some new jeans. I needed some to replace my old favorites, size 16. They still fit, barely, and I love to wear them. But, they are almost to big to wear now and they aren't very faltering. So, my hubby and I went over to the Outlet Store and I found a pair I loved. I then tried them on and they fit! I just had to buy them. Not only did the jeans make my butt look great, but that the jeans were a size 10!!! That's right, a size 10! I haven't worn that small of a size since....um...never! The smallest I can remember wearing was a size 12 while I was a senior in high school(7 years ago).

Life is grand in a size 10!

Wow. That is so great, and I so happy and proud for you!! So, size 10 is a great size, isnt it? That is my size, although I need to lose some of it. Congrats!! My goal is to lose 20 pounds. But I will not think about it until I quit working, that way I can make a routine for myself....Again, congrats, That's a huge deal!!

That's great! Good for you. I don't believe my jeans size will ever be a 10 again after birthing 3 kids, my hips are just too wide now (don't think my skeleton alone would fit them). The smallest size I ever wore was a 5. That was my early high school career. Never again, never again. O well. Congrats on you accomplishment.

Things are always different after having kids. I don't ever have to worry about my hips getting bigger(since I will always have to have C-sections), but I will never lose my belly fat. I have talked to other moms who have also had C-sections and they all have little bellys(mine huge) that they can't seem to get rid of. I yelled at my belly fat just the other day. I think I will have this the rest of my life and never have a flat stomach. :-(

Oh well.

Sure you'll lose it. What sucks for me is that I weighed 170 when I got married and wore a size 12. Then when I got back to 170 after having a baby I wore a size 14. I can only imagine what size I'll be in when I get back to 170 after baby #3!??? :(

I will add, however, that I don't envy you for having to have a c-section. I would much rather have wider hips than ever have to have a "c".

What The...?

I would love to know why the movie Junior is now playing on the SciFi Channel. Can anyone tell me??? This is a chick flick. What does this movie have to do with space or weird creatures or things that cannot be explained.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
As part of a fertility research project, a male scientist agrees to carry a pregnancy in his own body.

Well now that I think about it, Arnold does look like a weird creature in this movie since he is prego and in drag. But still, Junior does not belong on the SciFi Channel!

What is this world coming to???

4
Blogger loelsh said...

Maybe because it's about a pregnant man? That would be something that you can't really explain. I don't know.

Here's my theory...

SciFi stands for Science Fiction, right? Well, the "science" that was used to get Ahnold preggers was fictional, ergo its placement on the SciFi network.

Okay Guru, while that may be true about Junior having fictional science...how do you explain them showing Liar Liar? It was also on the SciFi channel yesterday.

Hmmmm.... How about this....
SciFi also often covers the realm of Fantasy, so it was a Fantasy where a person's wish could come true?

Don't ask me to explain why they also showed Beetlejuice and Addams Family Values, I'm running out of explanations!

They're Gone!!!

My Tim Hortons bread bowls are gone!!! Man, I was so upset to find this info out. My sis and I went over yesterday to relieve my craving for them...and that's when we found out the bad news. The cashier told us that the bread bowls were just a seasonal item. I was so hacked! We ended up leaving with our stomachs still empty.

We ended up going to Fazoli's. They have a great menu full of low cal and low carb options. I decided to get the grilled chicken platter (Whole grilled chicken breast topped with Marinara Sauce, penne topped with Marinara Sauce, and a side of seasoned broccoli. Full meal only has 7 g of fat, and only 8 net carbs with double broccoli.), which only has 400 calories. I don't like broccoli, so my sis got to add it to her fettuccine. My sis and I also got ourselves some lemon ices with strawberries. They were soooo very good at only 190 calories!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The only problem with going to Fazoli's is not eating their wonderful, delicious, mouth-watering breads sticks. The restaurant people even bring over baskets full of hot bread to each table. The sticks are/were such a temptation for me, but I only had half a one. I was so proud of myself. I definitely didn't want to have any more since they are 140 calories apiece!!! Crazy I tell ya!

Life is grand with lemon ices!

Only In America

Only in America.....do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.

Only in America......do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke.

Only in America......do banks leave both doors open and then chain the pens to the counters.

Only in America......do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and put our useless junk in the garage.

Only in America......do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight.

Only in America......do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.

Only in America......do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering.

New Pretties!!!

My mom, sis, and I were able to go the jewelry show this weekend. The show comes into town once every few months and I usually try to get over there. They have some great, inexpensive jewelry.

We had to pay $4.00 to park, but we got in free with a mail flyer and free tickets from their website. If I had to pay to go...I probably wouldn't. I would just buy all my trinity jewelry on ebay(heehee!!!).

Anyway, I found some great pieces all at 75% off!

I got this really cute anklet!

With earrings to match!

I also bought a matching charm. My birthstone is purple for February, so I got the charm on the right.

I also got a gold trinity charm for my rope necklace. I love it!!! I have been wanting some trinity jewelry for quite some time now...so I am a very happy woman!

Life is grand when Trinity13 owns some trinity jewelry!

You're a Vulcan. Logical to a fault, most people baffle you. But don't worry--they can't light a match to your abilities of self control and mediation. You need it, under your calm exterior seethes some pretty powerful emotions, but you hide it so well people call you cold-blooded.

Cool and collected, you represent the epitome of self control.

No Money

My sis and I got together trying to think of ideas for what to do for my parent's anniversary. Since non of us have money, we decided to make lunch for everyone. We would have loved to go out to a restaurant with my parents(they also doesn't have any money right now) to celebrate their big day, but it's so expensive.

Anyway, my sis and I put together a menu for a Sunday meal. Then we went to the grocery to buy some of the food(I already had half of the food in my cupboards). That's when I found out that I would be buying all the food!

Okay, it was her idea to have a home-made dinner, but she was not going to contribute to it! She offered to help cook, but I don't trust her with a hot stove/oven. She even didn't have any money to put towards my parents gift. I ended up buying all the food and a $50 gift for my parents. I also had to include my brother in on the gift since he didn't get anything and I didn't want him to be empty handed.

What a crock!!! How great of a sister am I?!!!

1
Blogger Pete said...

The sister that is waay too nice. Even if they couldn't pony up an even portion, they should have given you something. One still lives there, the other gets taken out weekly (or got to recently, anyway) and yet you are the one to pitch in all the food, all the cooking, and all the $$$ for a pretty expensive gift.

They f*cked you... did you at least get a kiss? It makes it easier, anyway.

Weigh In

I didn't lose much last week. Since I was pms-ing, I didn't want to exercise and I pretty much ate what I wanted(for three days). But, it felt really good to just not care what I ate for those three days. I think my body needed that. I had been eating food as a source of fuel since January, but sometimes it is nice to eat because you enjoy it. I had been ignoring my cravings, but every few months I think you should give into them...for an allotted amount of time. I think everyone who is dieting should have a few days like what I had. You should set up a date in the future to just give into all the cravings for a few days. That way you can get all that out of your system and then get back to the dieting.

I am definitely going to do this again...maybe in May. I will save all my cravings till then and just go crazy for a few days. I think I'm going to like this!

Anyway, I only lost one pound this week. I now only have 8 pounds to go. I know that both the guys will probably finish this week, but I will definitely be down my 40 pounds in the next two weeks.

I haven't tried juicing yet. I don't know if I would be able to drink my meals everyday. That's because I love to chew. Sometimes I eat just so I can chew on something. (Gum has been a real help during this diet!)

And They're Out!

I was finally able to take my son to the doctor so that his stitches could be removed. I took him over yesterday morning and had to wait almost an hour before we were lead back to a room. Once there, we were seen immediately. The nurse weighed my son in at 42 pounds(he is such a big boy!) and told me what to expect with the stitch removal.

The doctor was in to see us less than 5 minutes later... and it was a good thing too since the boy was getting restless. She didn't want to have to use a papoose board, so she called in a nurse and the male receptionist to help hold my son down. I sat him down on my lap and crossed my legs over his, the nurse held his head down, and the receptionist held his arms as the doctor cut out the stitches. It was going well until one of the stitches pulled. My son started crying about this time since it took the doctor about 30 seconds to remove the stuck stitch.

Well, the doctor finally got all the stitches removed (and it only took about a minute total). She said there was no infection, thank the Lord! My son got his sticker... and we got out of there quick. He really did a good job.

His eyebrow looks great. There is still a little redness, but the doc said that it was normal. I think it healed up quite nicely. He will always have a scar now, but I was told that if I put sun-block on him before going out(for the next six months), it will not be as noticeable.

Life is so grand, don't you think?

Singing In Church

A minister decided to do something a little different one Sunday morning. He said "Today, in church, I am going to say a single word and you are going to help me preach. Whatever single word I say, I want you to sing whatever hymn that comes to your mind.

The pastor shouted out "CROSS."

Immediately the congregation started singing in
unison, "The Old Rugged Cross."

The pastor hollered out "GRACE."

The congregation began to sing "Amazing Grace, How Sweet the Sound".

The pastor said "POWER"

The congregation sang "There is Power in the Blood".

The Pastor said "SEX"

The congregation fell in total silence. Everyone was in shock. They all nervously began to look around at each other afraid to say anything.

Then all of a sudden, way from in the back of the church, a little old 87-year-old grandmother stood up and began to sing "PRECIOUS MEMORIES."

The Pacifier

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Plot Summary: The film is the story of an undercover agent who, after failing to protect an important government scientist, learns the man's family is in danger. In an effort to redeem himself, he agrees to take care of the man's children only to discover that child care is his toughest mission yet.

I originally wasn't going to blog about this movie, but a friend of mine encouraged me to do so to get the word out on how terrible it was/is.

My sister and I saw The Pacifier on Saturday. And I have got to say that this movie is craptastic! The only reason I even saw it in the first place was because my sis talked me into it. She is a huge Vin Diesel fan so she just had to see it.

First off, I noticed several inconsistencies throughout the movie. It got quite annoying! It was also very corny. It was supposed to be a kid's movie(hence the corniness), but there was also a lot of violence throughout it. I understand that Vin Diesel can't do a movie without the violence, but come on now...it's for the kids. (Somehow Bruce Willis was able to calm down for his movie, The Kid...so why not Vin?)

Okay, to sum it up, I would definitely not recommend this movie to anyone! There is to much violence for kids and not entertainment for adults.

Thank you.

I Love Dessert

The other day I had the hankering for something sweet. I know that I am on a diet, but I just love making desserts.

I had to get rid of some bananas that were too brown for me to eat(I like them green), so I looked up some banana desserts. I found a recipe for a banana cookie, but I didn't have all the ingredients. So, I ended up making my own version of the cookie since I added some ingredients of my own.

They ended up tasting really, really good! (If I do say so myself) The cookie tastes just like banana bread. They're not to sweet, but they have a lot of flavor to them. I especially like the added oats. It gives the cookie texture.

I ended up giving most of the cookies away since I can't have to many on the diet. My hubby took in a plate for the guys he works with and he took a plate to be shared at his guys night get together. He thinks the cookies would be really good warmed up with some butter on them. I don't know about that.

Life is grand with banana bread cookies!

Dear Dad

A father passing by his son's bedroom was astonished to see the bed was nicely made and everything was picked up. Then he saw an envelope propped up prominently on the center of the bed. It was Addressed "Dad".

With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope and read the letter with trembling hands:

Dear Dad,
It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you. I've been finding real passion with Joan and she is so nice - even with all her piercings, tattoos, and her tight Motorcycle clothes. But it's not only the passion, Dad, she's pregnant and Joan said that we will be very happy. Even though you don't care for her as she is so much older than I, she already owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter.

She wants to have many more children with me and that's now one of my dreams too. I'm sure that's exactly what God meant when He said to 'be fruitful and multiply'. Joan also taught me that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone, and we'll be growing it for us and trading it with her friends for all the crack and ecstasy we might want -- just for fun, you know.

In the meantime, we'll pray every night before bed that science will find a cure for AIDS so Joan can get better; she sure deserves it!!

Don't worry Dad, I'm 15 years old now and I know how to take care of myself. Someday I'm sure we'll be back to visit so you can get to know your grandchildren.

Your son, John

PS: Dad, NONE of the above is true. I'm over at the neighbor's house. I just wanted to remind you that there are much worse things in life than my report card that's in my desk center drawer!

I love you! Call when it is safe for me to come home......

Aunt Flo

Well, my aunt is due to come into town any day now. I really hope she decides to skip this monthly visit and come back again some time next year. But, I have a feeling that she will be coming over to stay for a few days this month.

I really hate having to accommodate to her needs. Doesn't she understand that I don't like having her around? I have tried for almost two years to get rid of her with no success. Although, some months I have just been to upset to do anything about stopping her visit for that month.

I guess it's my own fault that she keeps coming back. I am just not doing enough to stop her and keep her away.

I just don't understand. My mom and my grandma were able to stand up to Aunt Flo. They got rid of her in one month's time(every time). What is my problem? Why can't I be patient? Why can't I be happy in knowing that God's timing is perfect?

Why?

Woman's Retreat

I got to spend some time this weekend with 260 other ladies at a church retreat. All in all, it was a good time.

My sis and I left around 5:30 on Friday to head to Cherry Valley Lodge. After getting settled, when went in search of the indoor heated pool. As it turns out, it was on the opposite end of the hotel! We did a lot of walking back and forth(from pool, to exercise room, to game room, to our own room) during the retreat...and it's a good thing since I cheated on the diet with a personal pack of peanut M&Ms. (and they were soooo good!)

The speaker we listened to was very good. Of course, I knew that I would like her when she said that she has been called the female version of Dr. Phil. She talked about feeling guilty for past mistakes, forgiving our mothers, and how powerful our great God is.

Right after the evening seminar, my sis and I ran back to our room to change. We then spent several hours swimming in the 24 hour pool and jacuzzi. It was a lot of fun and we didn't get back to our room till after 1 am. We got about 5 hours of sleep before heading out to use the exercise room. I mostly worked my arms and boy am I feeling it today!

Life is grand with sore muscles!

A Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my shape to keep.
Please no wrinkles, please no bags
And please lift my butt before it sags.

Please no age spots, please no gray
And as for my belly, please take it away.
Please keep me healthy, please keep me young,
And thank you Dear Lord for all that you've done.

Use This Twice A Day

You are a toothbrush. You are a control freak. You love to be in charge of everything, and like to do things yourself instead of indirectly. Hands-on projects are your favorite. You like to accomplish things the hard way, even if it means getting dirty. You have high priorities and set goals for your life, which will make you very successful. However, you will have to dig deep and get rid of all the crap people throw at you in order to have a promising future.

Most compatible with: Toilet Paper, and Windex.

Click here -- What Random Object Represents Your Inner Self?

2
Blogger G said...

The quiz said I was WindexYou are a neat freak. Quite plain and simple. If you walk into an unorganized area, you go insane. Most of your free time is spent cleaning and organizing, when you aren't having fun with you friends. Even though many are annoyed by your constant organizing, some see it as a quality of neatness, and that is something most people envy about you. The opposite sex sees you as clean-cut and pure, though you are too shy to express your true feelings for them. You keep a list of goals and priorities in your life, and in almost all cases, accomplish them. You are the over-acheiver, most intelligent in your class, and strive to do all that is in your ability. Some people may try to take advantage of you, however, so don't let them make you clean up their messes. "Just put some Windex on it."

...but after reading the results for

Toilet PaperYou are used and taken advantage of by a lot of people, including your friends. They make you be the one to clean up their messes in their life. But the only reason that this happens is because of your kindness and commitment. These are the qualities most members of the opposite sex look for, which makes you hot. Yes, toilet paper is hot. But be careful that your lover doesn't use you to their advantage, and be sure that they are not seeking too much control. Remember: Toilet paper is used by many, but is most often considered valuable when it is not there in time of need.

I think they both contain some truth.

My Poor Baby!

My hubby and I ended up spending a few hours in the emergency room last night. While I was watching the autistic boy, my hubby and boy were spending time at my mom's house. (She loves feeding them!) While playing in the basement, my son tripped over something(maybe his own feet) and smacked his head on either a chair or the corner of the couch. The skin split open and started bleeding!

My pale(or so I heard) hubby called me up and told me to get to the emergency room as soon as possible. After I got there, we ended up waiting for over 90 minutes to see someone...all the while my son's head was still bleeding. We would wipe his brow every few minutes while he played quietly with a toy.

We were finally called back to a room where a doctor told us that my son needed stitches. I had to hold my baby down while keeping this numbing liquid on his eyebrow. This sticky stuff couldn't get near his eye, but had to stay on the eyebrow gash for over 40 minutes. My son ended up falling asleep in my arms.

After the sore was numb, the nurse brought in what is called a papoose board. He really didn't fit into it, so my hubby and I had to hold down the boy's arms. This is when I lost it. My son couldn't move, I couldn't hold him, and some doctor was stitching his way in my boy's eyebrow...so I cried along with my son. Poor baby...I mean big boy.

Well, we finally got out of there with 7 new stitches in my boy's head. He ended up sleeping in my bed because I wanted to elevate his head. He woke up today a happy boy and now he is playing with the red head...so I take it that he is feeling better.

Life is grand with a hurt boy.

Awe, poor little man! Give him smooches from aunt Lolo. I would have lost it too, I have a hard enough time holding the kids still to get their shots, let alone stitches. That would be hard! How did G handle that? Did he make it through without passing out? :)

The Silent Treatment

A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM."

He left it where he knew she would find it. The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed. The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."

Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests. God may have created man before woman, but there is always a rough draft before the masterpiece.

From PJ, thanks girl!

The Boy's Party

I think that my son's party went really well last night. My hubby and I got to Magic Mountain around 6:15, right before the grandparents showed up. We were able to get tables and food together before the kids came in. I then went and paid for the kids way into the kidsgym(has tubes and a ball pit) , bought some tokens, and some pitchers of pop. During this time my son got to play some video games with his daddy(they ended up winning about 1800 tickets).

After all the kids had gotten there and settled, I was able to play with my son in the kidsgym. It was a lot of fun. I love crawling after him through all the tubes. It's great exercise and my knees aren't even sore(no jokes please)!

I am pretty sure that the kids loved the ball pit the most...along with their parents. There were four of us ladies in the pit along with 4 of our kids. I think that Lo and her cousins had a great time with their ball fight. The only thing is is that one of my hubby's cousin took a cheap shot at me. I wasn't even involved in the ball fight and as I was leaving the ball pit area, she threw a ball hard at my back. It's not a big deal, it just surprised me that she would do that.

Anyway, after playing in the kidsgym, it was time to open presents. My son got a lot of great clothing and some wonderful toys. He has played with all of his new toys today(and loves them!).

The only thing that concerned me was that some people didn't eat before hand(the invite said that dinner was not provided). They had to order themselves something at the snack bar. My hubby and I provided food last year, but we just couldn't afford it this year...and I feel bad about it. I guess there is nothing I can do about it now.

Oh well, life is grand when your son enjoys his b-day party!

Uh, yeah, that was me that beamed the ball at you in the ball pit, silly. I thought you knew by the innocent look on my face when you turned around and I was pointing at my cousin. Just goofing around, didn't mean to offend.

What's Up???

Okay, what is up with blogger comments? This past week I have been having a hard time posting any comments. I will post something just to be directed to the "this page cannot be displayed" link. So, I will try to post again...but no luck.

I posted a comment on my hubby's blog a few days ago and it never showed up. I posted again on his blog just to have that one appear along with the first one from a few days ago. Good grief!!! I am tired of having my comments not appear and I am tired of deleting comments that have posted twice!

Life is grand with comments!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's a good thing I saved this short little post...blogger was again having problems and wouldn't post it the first couple of times!!! Ahhhhh, I am so aggravated!

I am so excited! I can't wait till Warner finally releases The New Adventures of Lois and Clark on dvd this summer. I loved the show and never missed it! I know that I have blogged before about how much I love the show, but I just found out that Warner has just released an image of the dvd box!

Isn't my future C-mas present beautiful!

I just found an interview with the executive producer about how the cliff hanger at the end of season 5 was supposed to be resolved. If you were/are a fan, you would remember that L & C found a baby in there home. Here is the quote:

BRAD(ep): "It's starting to get a bit fuzzy in my mind, but Lois and Clark became very attached to the little boy who began to grow at an abnormal rate, turning into a pre-teen in a matter of a few months. He also began to develop super powers, not all of which he used responsibly, since he was a troubled kid. Turns out he was Kryptonian royalty, stashed by his mother to keep him safe from assassins. In the end he had to (tearfully) leave the only parents he'd ever known (L & C) and return to save his imperiled people."

How great it that?

Happy B-Day!!!

Today my son is the big zero three! He is getting to be such a big boy and this time has flown by so fast. I was hoping that he would be potty trained by now, but I don't want to rush the little man. He will in his own time.

Maybe this pic will inspire him.

Tonight we will be celebrating at Magic Mountain. My son's cousins and friends will all be joining him crawling through the tubes (and I will probably be right along with them!). They should have a blast!

So, happy birthday my beautiful son! Your mommy loves you.
